This study aims to analyze the concept of teacher performance within the framework of Islamic value-based human resource management (HRM) and to formulate a conceptual model relevant to improving the quality of education in madrasahs. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using library research, drawing data from books, accredited national journals, and national educational regulations. The findings reveal that teacher performance is a key determinant of educational quality, encompassing the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate learning, as well as demonstrating integrity and moral exemplarity. The integration of Islamic values ihsan, sincerity, role-modeling, and tajdid significantly strengthens teachers’ motivation, work ethic, and accountability. The proposed Islamic value-based HRM model synthesizes three fundamental foundations: Islamic normative principles, modern performance management theory, and recent empirical studies, resulting in a more holistic teacher performance assessment system. The model includes stages of performance planning, implementation, assessment and supervision, feedback and professional development, and accountability. This study contributes conceptually to the development of teacher performance governance in madrasahs and offers a practical framework for enhancing the quality of Islamic education sustainably.

The role of the headteacher as an academic supervisor holds a strategic position in supporting the development of teachers’ pedagogical competencies, particularly in responding to curriculum changes and the demands for improved learning quality. This study aims to examine how the headteacher’s academic supervision is understood and positioned in the literature as an effort to strengthen teachers’ pedagogical competencies. This study employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive-analytical literature review method. Data sources were obtained from books, journal articles, and relevant previous research findings, which were analysed using content analysis techniques through the stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings indicate that academic supervision, when carried out in a planned, systematic, and continuous manner, has been reported in various previous studies to contribute positively to the development of teachers’ pedagogical competencies, particularly in the aspects of lesson planning, lesson delivery, classroom management, and learning assessment. Furthermore, supervision that is collaborative and constructive is seen as capable of fostering teachers’ professional reflection and improving teaching practices. These findings confirm that academic supervision by headteachers has the potential to be a key strategy in the development of teachers’ pedagogical competencies, although further empirical research is needed to measure its direct impact.

Academic supervision has evolved into a strategic mechanism for improving the quality of education in Indonesia. This article aims to comprehensively analyze the role of academic supervision in enhancing the quality of learning, describe its implementation and stages, and examine digital innovations in academic supervision as a response to geographical challenges and technological advancements. The method used is a systematic literature review analyzing various academic literature, research findings, and educational policies related to academic supervision from 2015 to 2025. The results of the study indicate that academic supervision contributes significantly to improving the quality of education, teacher performance, teacher professionalism, and the quality of learning. A supportive, collaborative, and sustainable supervision approach has proven effective in fostering comprehensive teacher competency development, encompassing pedagogical, professional, social, and personal aspects. Effective implementation of academic supervision follows the stages of planning, conducting observations, and evaluation and follow-up. Digital academic supervision (e-supervision) has emerged as a solution to address geographical barriers in 3T regions (frontier, outermost, and underdeveloped areas), although it still faces challenges related to infrastructure and digital literacy. The implications of these findings underscore the importance of strengthening the capacity of school principals as academic supervisors, integrating supervision outcomes into the teacher career development system, and leveraging digital technology to support the effectiveness of supervision.

This study aims to analyze teachers’ perceptions of the principal’s supervisory style in improving the quality of learning, motivated by the gap between the ideal concept of supervision and its implementation in practice, which is still often perceived as merely an administrative activity. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive study design, using in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques to obtain a comprehensive understanding of teachers’ experiences and perspectives. The findings reveal that teachers’ perceptions of supervision vary significantly and are influenced by supervisory style, communication quality, prior experiences, and the school work climate. Collaborative and reflective supervisory styles tend to receive positive responses because they encourage active participation and teachers’ professional development, whereas rigid directive styles may lead to resistance. In addition, effective communication through constructive and continuous feedback is considered a crucial factor in fostering positive teacher perceptions. The study also found that effective supervision should be contextual and adaptive to teachers’ characteristics and supported by a conducive work environment. Therefore, supervision should be positioned as a humanistic and participatory continuous guidance process in order to enhance teacher professionalism and optimize the quality of learning.

Improving the quality of education is a key factor in creating superior and competitive human resources. In the context of national education, the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) serves as a strategic instrument that ensures all academic and non-academic processes are carried out in accordance with national standards. This study aims to describe the concept, application, and challenges of SPMI implementation at various levels of education, from elementary to higher education. The research method used is a literature review with a descriptive-analytical approach based on a review of policy documents, quality management theory, and previous research findings. The study results indicate that implementing SPMI through the PPEPP (Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement) cycle is capable of creating a sustainable quality culture in the educational environment. In elementary and secondary education, SPMI focuses on strengthening student character, literacy, and competency, while in higher education, SPMI implementation supports improving the quality of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and external accreditation. The main challenges faced include limited human resources, low commitment to a quality culture, and administrative burdens. However, digitizing quality documents, ongoing training, and synergy between SPMI and SPME are effective solutions to overcome these challenges. Overall, SPMI is not simply an administrative obligation, but a dynamic system that fosters a culture of quality, transparency, and accountability in educational institutions. With consistent implementation, SPMI can be a driving force in transforming Indonesian education into a superior, character-based, and globally recognized institution. Keywords: Case Study, Mind Mapping, Problem Solving, Mathematics, Innovative Learning.
