Abstract

ABSTRAKRheumatoid Arthritis adalah suatu penyakit autoimun dimana persendian mengalami peradangan, sehingga terjadi pembengkakan, nyeri dan seringkali akhirnya menyebabkan kerusakan bagian dalam sendi, salah satu upaya untuk mengurangi rasa nyeri artritis rheumatoid yaitu dengan kompres jahe merah yang kandungan minyak atsirinya melancarkan peredaran darah dan peradangan sendi.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh kompres jahe merah terhadap penurunan intensitas nyeri artritis rheumatoid di wilayah kerja puskesmas siulak deras. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen one-group pretest-posttets design dengan menggunakan rumus acak random sederhana dengan sampel sebanyak 16 orang bertempat diwilayah kerja Puskesmas Siulak Deras, pengumpulan data yang dilakukan melalui wawancara dengan penilaian hasil ukur menggunakan numeric Analog Visual (NAV). Rata-Rata intensitas nyeri pretest kompres jahe merah 6,88 dan posttest 3,94. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan perbedaan intensitas nyeri artritis rheumatoid pretest dan posttest dilakukan kompres jahe. Ini dibuktikan dengan uji t-test didapat nilai t yang signifikan = 0,000. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kompres jahe merah berpengaruh terhadap intensitas nyeri artritis rheumatoid dan dapat dilanjutkan sebagai intervensi yang dapat dilakukan secara mandiri oleh penderita artritis rheumatoid. Diharapkan kepada masyarakat untuk dapat mengolah jahe sebagai obat alternatif nyeri reumatoid arthritis.Kata Kunci    : Arthritis  Rheumatoid, Intensitas Nyeri, Kompres Jahe. Effect of warm red ginger compress (Zingiber Officinale Rosc) on pain in patients Rheumathoid Arthritis Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune disease which the joints become inflamed, resulting in swelling, pain and often ultimately causing joint damage, one of which attempts to reduce the pain of rheumatoid arthritis is by compressing the red ginger with its essential oil content in blood circulation and joint inflammation. This research aims to see the effect of red ginger compress on the decrease in the intensity of rheumatoid arthritis pain in the working area of siulak deras community health center. This research used one-group pretest-posttet design method simple random sampling method with 16 samples in the working area of Siulak Deras Community Health Center, collecting data through interview with measuring result using numerical Analog Visual (NAV). Mean intensity pain pretest compress red ginger 6.88 and posttest 3.94. The results of this research found differences in the intensity of rheumatoid arthritis pain pretest and posttest done compress ginger. It’s evidenced by the test t-test obtained significant t value = 0.000.  It can be concluded that the compression of red ginger affects the intensity of rheumatoid arthritis pain and can be continued as an intervention that can be done independently by rheumatoid arthritis patients. It is hoped that people can get ginger as an alternative medicine for rheumatoid arthritis pain. Keywords: Rheumatoid Arthritis, Pain Intensity, Ginger Compress.

Abstract

This article discusses the harmful effects of chromium metal on human health and the environment. This review aims to provide an in-depth understanding of its negative implications. Analysis of relevant studies provides a comprehensive picture of how Cr (VI) exposure seriously impacts human health and threatens environmental safety. This review method was conducted by identifying and selecting relevant sources through the scientific journal databases PubMed, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect with the keywords "Cr(VI)," "health risk," "environmental impact," and "chromium metal" then selected and evaluated by considering the quality of the journal, research methodology, and findings. In terms of human health, exposure to Cr(VI) has been shown to increase the risk of death from cardiovascular disease and has significant carcinogenic potential. The impact is not limited to this; Cr(VI) exposure can also cause respiratory problems and skin irritation in industrial workers. In terms of the environment, releasing Cr(VI) into the air, water, and soil threatens living ecosystems. The impact of Cr(VI) pollution on the water and soil environment is of great concern to the quality of water resources and plant growth. In addition, releasing Cr(VI) into the air around industrial plants can also endanger the health of local communities. Therefore, this article highlights the importance of stricter monitoring of chromium-using industries and promoting safer and environmentally friendly alternatives. Implementing preventive and protective measures is essential to minimize the negative impacts of chromium metal on human health and the environment. Using safer alternatives and environmentally friendly production technologies should also be encouraged to create a sustainable and healthy environment for all living beings.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between prolactin and oxytocin hormone levels with the mineral composition of breast milk in breastfeeding mothers through an observational study approach. The urgency of this study lies in the importance of understanding the hormonal factors that affect the mineral composition of breast milk, which can provide important knowledge for health practitioners in improving the quality and quantity of breast milk to support maternal and infant health. This study will use an observational study method where prolactin and oxytocin levels will be measured in the blood of breastfeeding mothers who have 3-month-old babies using the ELISA method, while the mineral composition of breast milk will be comprehensively evaluated using the AAS method. Data will be collected through direct observation and blood and breast milk sampling from mothers who have given their consent and passed the research ethics test. Statistical analysis with correlation tests will be carried out to explore the correlation between prolactin and oxytocin hormone levels with the mineral composition of breast milk. The targeted output of this study is a deeper understanding of the role of prolactin and oxytocin in the mineral composition of breast milk and identification of the relationship between these hormones and the characteristics of breast milk. The results of this study are expected to provide a stronger basis for the development of intervention strategies aimed at increasing breast milk production and maternal and infant health. In addition, the findings of this study are also expected to provide a significant contribution to the scientific literature in the field of maternal and infant health, as well as provide a basis for improving clinical practice in caring for mothers and infants during the breastfeeding period. The results of the correlation test showed that there was no significant relationship between Prolactin and Ca (Calcium) levels with a correlation coefficient of -0.314 and a p value of 0.091. However, a very strong correlation was found between Prolactin and Zn (Zinc) with a correlation coefficient of 0.601 and a p value of 0.000, indicating a significant positive relationship between the two. Meanwhile, there was no significant relationship between Oxytocin and Ca (Calcium) with a correlation coefficient of -0.091 and a p value of 0.633. Conversely, there was a moderate relationship between Oxytocin and Zn (Zinc) with a correlation coefficient of 0.457 and a p value of 0.011, indicating a significant positive correlation between the two variables. Thus, the results of this study found a significant relationship between prolactin and zinc and oxytocin and zinc, but not with calcium. The TKT of this study was 3. Abstract

Objective : This study aims to evaluate the use of topical black seed oil on wound healing in a diabetic rat model. Method:10 experimental rats were induced with streptozotocin at a dose of 55 mg/kg BW. Diabetic rats were anesthetized and then the wound was made with a biopsy push with a diameter of 10 mm. The rats were divided into 2 groups, namely the untreated group and the topical treatment group with 1 ml of 100% Black Seed Oil every day for 14 days. Wound healing evaluation was carried out on days 7 and 14. Gene expression analysis was performed using molecular technique RT PCR an histopathologically using He staining. Data analysis used T test. Result: On day 7 there was a decrease in TNF expression with p <0.05, while on day 14 it also showed a decrease in TNF alpha expression with p <0.01. Histopathological showed positive development by showing better wound healing with complete epithelialization, granulation with lower inflammatory cells, higher fibroblasts and collagen compared to the control group. Conclusion :Black seed oil can increase the speed of wound healing in diabetic rat models by inhibiting TNF alpha expression.

Abstract

Dalam literatur review ini peneiliti memaparkan tentang kandungan mikroba dan biokimia tapai sebagai kandidat pangan fungsional. Tapai merupakan produk pangan konvensional hasil fermentasi mikroba yang sampai hari ini masih banyak digemari oleh masyarakat. Di dalam tapai terdapat kandungan mikroba dan enzim-enzim yang memiliki nilai kesehatan dan baik untuk pencernaan. Karena memiliki banyak manfaat maka tapai dapat dijadikan kandidat pangan fungsional masa depan. Jenis-jenis mikroba yang terdapat di dalam tapai dan kandungan biokimia tapai telah dibahas di dalam literatur review ini sehingga dapat memberikan pengetahuan tentang tapai sebagai kandidat pangan fungsional yang memiliki nilai kesehatan.

Abstract

ABSTRAKBakteri Staphylococcus aureus adalah bakteri yang hidup di permukaan tubuh tanpa membahayakan, terdapat di sekitar hidung, mulut, alat kelamin, dan dubur. Salah satu cara untuk mengobati infeksi bakteri adalah dengan menggunakan antibiotik. Penggunaan antibiotik yang berlebihan dapat menyebabkan perkembangan bakteri resisten. Tumbuhan jeruk manis merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pengobatan. Jeruk manis (Citrus sinensis) merupakan salah satu tanaman yang banyak ditanam di Indonesia. Kulit jeruk manis menghasilkan minyak atsiri yang sering digunakan sebagai aromatic. Kandungan kulit buah jeruk manis menunjukan adanya senyawa flavonoid, steroid, terpenoid, alkaloid, tanin dan saponin. Kulit buah jeruk manis aktif sebagai antibakteri dan antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya hambat ekstrak kulit jeruk manis (Citrus sinensis) konsentrasi 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% dan 100% terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus menggunakan metode difusi disk.jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental laboratori. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa aktifitas antibakteri ekstrak kulit jeruk manis ditunjukkan adanya daya hambat terhadap bakteri S.aureus dengan rata-rata konsentrasi 20% dengan diameter 12,3 mm (kuat), 40% diameter 13,6 mm (kuat), 60% diameter 15,4 mm (kuat), 80% diameter 16,9 mm (kuat), 100% diameter 21,4 mm (sangat kuat), kontrol positif amoxicilin 11,8 mm dan kontrol negatif 0 mm. Didapatkan hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan nilai p= 0,000 (sig.<0,05) bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikansi antar semua perlakuan dengan kontrol positif. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak kulit jeruk manis efektif menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri S.aureus, hal tersebut dikarenakan diameter zona hambat ekstrak kulit jeruk manis lebih besar dari kontrol positif. Kata Kunci: Antibakteri, Staphylococcus aureus, Citrus sinensis  ABSTRACT Staphylococcus aureus bacteria are bacteria that live harmlessly on the surface of the body, found around the nose, mouth, genitals and rectum. One way to treat a bacterial infection is to use antibiotics. Overuse of antibiotics can lead to the development of resistant bacteria. Sweet orange plant is one type of plant that can be used for treatment. Sweet orange (Citrus sinensis) is one of the most widely grown plants in Indonesia. Sweet orange peel produces essential oils which are often used as aromatics. The content of sweet orange peel shows the presence of flavonoids, steroids, terpenoids, alkaloids, tannins and saponins. Sweet orange peel is active as an antibacterial and antioxidant. This study aims to determine the inhibition of sweet orange peel extract (Citrus sinensis) concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria using the disk diffusion method. This type of research was laboratory experimental research. The results showed that the antibacterial activity of sweet orange peel extract was shown to have inhibition against S.aureus bacteria with an average concentration of 20% with a diameter of 12.3 mm (strong), 40% diameter 13.6 mm (strong), 60% diameter 15.4 mm (strong), 80% diameter 16.9 mm (strong), 100% diameter 21.4 mm (very strong), amoxicillin positive control 11.8 mm and negative control 0 mm. The results of the ANOVA test showed a p value = 0.000 (sig. <0.05) that there was a significant difference between all treatments with a positive control. It can be concluded that sweet orange peel extract is effective in inhibiting the growth of S.aureus bacteria, this is because the diameter of the inhibition zone of sweet orange peel extract is larger than the positive control.Keywords: Antibacterial, Staphylococcus aureus, Citrus sinensis

Abstract

Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) has been shown to have significant therapeutic benefits for skin wound healing, primarily due to its anti-inflammatory effects, ability to stimulate tissue regeneration, and potent antioxidant properties. This review analyzes the available research exploring the relationship between VCO and its impact on wound healing. A comprehensive search was conducted using the Medline database via PubMed and Scopus to identify relevant studies published between 1970 and March 2023. The main inclusion criteria were original articles written in English that evaluated wound healing in in vivo skin models using topically applied VCO. The search initially yielded 689 articles, but only 4 articles met these criteria. These studies addressed various types of wounds, including excisional, burn, and diabetic wounds. All four studies demonstrated positive outcomes, showing that VCO promotes skin wound healing. The oil’s anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties were identified as key contributors to its role in enhancing the wound healing process.

Abstract

Candida albicans merupakan salah satu mikroorganisme penyebab kandidiasis, kandidiasis adalah masalah reproduksi yang dialami oleh 50% wanita di Indonesia terutama pada masa produktif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antifungi ekstrak etanol kulit jeruk manis dan madu hutan dengan beberapa konsentrasi terhadap pertumbuhan Candida albicans. Bahan yang digunakan adalah kulit jeruk manis, madu hutan, isolat Candida albicans, dan etanol. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif eksperimental laboartorium. Konsentrasi ekstrak yang digunakan yaitu 100%, 90%, 60%, 30% dan 15%, kontrol negatif yang digunakan DMSO dan kontrol positifnya ketoconazole. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol kulit jeruk manis dan madu hutan dengan beberapa konsentrasi dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Candida albicans dan dikategorikan sedang hingga kuat. Konsentrasi ekstrak etanol kulit jeruk manis dan madu hutan memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan setelah diuji menggunakan oneway ANOVA. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ekstrak etanol kulit jeruk manis dan madu hutan dengan beberapa konsentrasi dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Candida albicans yang dikategorikan sedang hingga kuat

Abstract

Stunting merupakan kekurangan gizi kronis pada balita berdasarkan tinggi badan dan berat badan kurang menurut umur bila dibandingkan dengan standar baku WHO dengan niali Z-score kurang dari-2SD. Stunting menyebabkan perkembangan dan pertumbuhan tidak optimal. Dampak yang lebih serius akibat stunting seperti perkembangan motorik terlambat, terhambatnya pertumbuhan mental, meningkatkan risiko terjadinya kesakitan dan kematian pada anak. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan orang tua balita stunting di Wilah Kerja Andalas Kota Padang. Metode yang digunakan penyuluhan/ceramah dan diskusi. Kegiatan ini berjalan dengan lancar dan peserta sangat aktif bertanya. Kegiatan ini sangat efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan orang tua balita dalam pencegahan stunting.Kata Kunci : Edukasi,Pencegahan, Stunting
