Abstract

Range of motion exercises in postoperative fracture patients can improve blood circulation, reduce pain and accelerate wound healing. If the pain that is felt is not handled properly, the patient will feel afraid when he will move, and cause blood circulation to the part that is being operated on is not smooth. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of range of motion exercises on pain intensity in postoperative fracture patients. This research method uses a one group pretest post test design, this study does not have a control group but in this research design initial observations (pre-test) have been carried out. The sampling technique used in this research is total sampling. Bivariate test using paired t-test. Where the p-value is 0.000 <0.05, which means that there is an effect of range of motion exercises on pain intensity in postoperative fracture patients.

Abstract

Fall is a serious problem and requires high costs for patients and also for all wellness facilities. Morse Fall Score (MFS) was one of the assessments of risk of falls prevention efforts which was one of the principles of ability and behavior of nurses in doing work appropriate duties related to compliance implementation Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). One of the factors that influence nurse compliance in the implementation of SOP i.e. motivation and perceptions of nurse against their work. Motivation was one of the important things for someone in doing forefront where increasing motivation will lead to increased performance of nurses. This study aimed to know the correlation between the motivation of nurses and the implementation compliance of standard operating procedures of the risk of fall prevention inpatient care. This study used approach cross-sectional, non- probability sampling method that was purposive sampling. Statistical analysis used Spearman Rank tests with the significance value is 95% (α = 0.05). There was a significant correlation between the motivation of nurses with the standard operating procedures of implementation's compliance with the risk of fall prevention in the space of hospitalization with a p-value of 0.000 (p-value < 0.05). The correlations value (r) was 0.042 meaning forms two variable correlations were unidirectional i.e. the higher the motivation then the standard operating procedures of the implementation's compliance with the prevention of the risk of falling was also higher. There was a significant correlation between the motivation of nurse with compliance the implementation of standard operating of the risk of fall prevention in patient room. Keywords : Compliance, Motivation, Risk of fall, Standard Operating Procedure

Abstract

ABSTRACTMusculoskeletal disorders are one of the diseases that occur due to excessive muscle contraction due to giving a workload that is too heavy with a long duration of loading. On the other hand, muscle complaints do not occur when muscle contractions are only around 15-20% of maximum muscle strength. However, if the muscle contraction exceeds 20%, the blood circulation to the muscles is reduced so that the oxygen supply to the muscles decreases. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between physical activity and musculoskeletal disorders in nurses at Sundari General Hospital Medan. Bivariate analysis test using Spearman Rho. Where the p-value is 0.003 <0.05, which means that there is a relationship between physical activity and nurses' musculoskeletal disorders. Abstract

Two thirds of injury cases in developing countries, including Indonesia, are still a major public health problem in all countries. In 2020 there were 152.256 injury cases in Indonesia (17.8%). Fractures cause a variety of negative effects, including psychological, social, and spiritual. A report from the Department of Health shows that 15 percent of fracture sufferers experience emotional stress and even depression. Psychological education helps in the treatment and reduction of depressive symptoms, which are part of the psychological response to disability. This research is to find out how well psychoeducation helps fracture patients adapt at Pirngadi Hospital, Medan City. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design with control group. This research was carried out at Pirngadi Hospital, Medan City from 21 July to 23 August 2023. The study population included 67 patients who experienced grade 2 and 3 fractures. The sampling technique is non-probability sampling. The number of samples in this study was 16 people for the control group and 16 people for the treatment group. The research instrument has been tested for validity and reliability. Univariate analysis to describe research variables, while bivariate analysis with dependent t test to determine the mean differences in the treatment group before and after being given psychoeducation and in the control group at pre-test and post-test. The results of the study showed that there was a difference in the average adaptation of fracture patients who were given psychoeducational intervention compared to the group of patients who were not given intervention with p value = 0.000; 95% CI < alpha = 0.05.  Keywords: Frakture, Injury Patient, Psychoeducation

Abstract

The prevalence of anemia is still high, as evidenced by data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2016, the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women was 40.1%. Anemia in pregnancy is a national problem because it reflects the value of the socio-economic welfare of the community and affects the quality of human resources. Anemia in pregnant women can increase the risk of premature birth, maternal and child mortality, and infectious diseases. Ways to overcome and prevent anemia in pregnant women with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. The high iron content in stonehead fish can be recommended as a non-pharmacological therapy to prevent anemia. To determine whether there is an effect of consuming stonehead fish nuggets on increasing hemoglobin (Hb) levels in pregnant women with anemia in Medan Belawan District. Quantitative research type with quasi-experimental research design with pretest and posttest two group design, research sample of 15 pregnant women with anemia, taken by purposive sampling. Statistical test Paired T-test, there is an effect of consuming stonehead fish nuggets on increasing hemoglobin levels of pregnant women with anemia with a ρ value of 0.000 <0.05. Statistical test Independent T-test, there is an effect of consuming stonehead fish nuggets (intervention group) (control group) on hemoglobin levels with a ρ-value of 0.00 <0.05.

Abstract

Pain is a complaint that occurs in the elderly, as you get older you will feel pain in your joints. Pain in the joints can hinder movement. One of the chronic inflammatory diseases that attacks the musculoskeletal system is rheumatoid arthritis.  This disease causes inflammation of the joint capsule. The action taken to treat rheumatoid in the elderly is the application of stretching exercises. Stretching exercises are muscle stretching exercises using certain techniques to reduce muscle tension physiologically. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of applying stretching exercises on pain intensity in rheumatoid arthritis patients at the Binjai Elderly Social Services UPT. Quasi-experimental research design with one group pre test post test. The sample for this study was 30 respondents consisting of 15 respondents in the intervention group and 15 respondents in the control group using convenience sampling. The research instruments were the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and stretching exercise SOP. Bivariate analysis with Wilcoxon test with p value <α (0.000 < 0.05).  So H0 is rejected, which means that there is an effect of applying stretching exercises on pain intensity in rheumatoid arthritis patients at the UPT for elderly social services in Binjai. The results of this research are expected for the elderly to carry out stretching exercises correctly in accordance with the stretching exercise SOP and do it every time before the elderly start activities so that it can improve blood flow, reduce muscle tension, relax the body, increase the range of motion, provide a feeling of comfort and prevent injury physique.
