Abstract

Youth dropping out of school in Mesjid Peunteut Village, Blang Mangat District, Lhokseumawe City as a partner village were still less productive and have an impact on low income levels. In fact, they have never received training from any party for entrepreneurial activities and have the expertise to create certain products, especially in the field of civil engineering. This training aimed to provide knowledge and skills to out-of-school youth in order to provide them with the expertise to make seamless texture paving block products that are easy to market so as to generate a steady income. The number of participants involved in the activity were 20 people, consisted of 8 women and 12 men with an age range of 20 - 25 years. Partners acquired theoretical knowledge, technical skills in making paving block texture seamless manual products, production management and product marketing. The offline method was used for theoretical debriefing activities combined with presentation techniques in class and hands-on practice in civil engineering workshops. The results of the training obtained an average value of theoretical understanding of 88.1 and technical understanding of 95. This showed partners have acquired theoretical and technical knowledge to plan mix compositions, manufacture products manually, arrange production and marketing costs. Thus, it becomes a job field for youth who drop out of school to get a steady income.

Abstract

Proyek Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Air (PLTA) Peusangan adalah proyek panjang jangka pekerjaannya. Proyek ini dimulai pada tahun 1998 dan direncanakan selesai pada tahun 2023. Banyak factor yang mengakibatkan keterlambatan proyek seperti konflik serta gempa dan tsunami yang terjadi di Provinsi Aceh. Proyek yang diperkirakan menghabiskan biaya sebesar Rp2.100.000.000.000 (dua koma satu triliun) bersumber dari Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi terjadinya risiko K3 pada Proyek pembangunan PLTA Peusangan. Dengan diketahui potensi terjadinya risiko K3, diharapkan dapat dilakukan penanganan awal untuk mencapai tujuan penerapan K3 yaituzero accident. Manajemen risiko kecelakan kerja dilakukan dengan metode Hazard Identification, Risk Assesment, Risk Control (HIRARC). penilaian terhadap kemungkinan kecelakaan kerja tersebut dengan menggunakan Standar AS/NZS 4360:2004. Pada standar ini, kecelakaan kerja dinilai dengan dua kriteria yaitu berdasarkan tingkat kemungkinan terjadi (probability) dan tingkat keparahan (severity). Secara rerata, tingkat kemungkinan terjadinya kecelakaan kerja pada kategori unlikely (36%) dan possible (64%). Sedangkan tingkat keparahan kecelakaan kerja pada kategori minor (32%) dan kategori moderate (68%). Tingkat risiko kecelakan kerja tidak ada yang masuk kepada kategori extreme. Tingkat risiko terbesar pada kategori moderate (46%), selanjutnya tingkat risiko kategori high (43%) dan tingkat risiko kategori low (11%). Hasilini menunjukkan bahwa Proyek Pembangunan PLTA Peusangan ini menerapkan K3 yang baik. Pekerjaan dapat disimpulkan menggunakan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD), Alat Pengaman Kerja (APK), Alat Pemadaman Api Ringan (APAR) dan juga keselamatan lingkungan kerja dengan baik.

Abstract

Lhokseumawe was one of the towns affected by the 2004 tsunami. During the last tsunami, tsunami waves arrived last on the coast of Lhokseumawe compared to the western and northern coastal areas of Aceh. Therefore, this tsunami modelling study was conducted to determine the arrival time of tsunami waves onthe coast of Lhokseumawe city and to determine the affected areas from the tsunami inundation map information. The method used is tsunami numerical modelling using the COMCOT (Cornell Multi Grid Coupled Tsunami Model) model. The earthquake source used to generate the tsunami is a 9.15 Mw earthquake of the magnitude of the 2004 earthquake, 8.0 Mw and 8.5 Mw earthquake scenarios. Bathymetric data were used to provide information on sea depth and topographic data to provide information on land elevation in the study area. Observation points were placed on the coast to record when the waves reached the coast. The maximum tsunami height occurred in Blang Mangat subdistrict with a tsunami height of 5 m and inundation distance of 1 km. The arrival time of the tsunami in Lhokseumawe town was 75-80 min after the earthquake. This information on tsunami height and arrival time can be used as preliminary information for tsunami mitigation planning and rapid response in the event of an earthquakewith tsunami potential.
