Abstract

Environmentally conscious development is essentially a sustainable development process. Rapid urban activity has a positive impact on economic development. One negative impact caused by rapid urban activity is flooding. The high activity of urban communities due to population growth has resulted in a lack of green land and rainwater absorption areas used to provide urban infrastructure and facilities, including water drainage. This also occurs in Bireuen Regency, a Regency in Aceh dominated by office, trade, housing, and residential activities. Kota Juang District is the center of government in Bireuen Regency, which is dominated by residential areas. Based on the results of initial observations conducted in Kota Juang District, many land cover areas cannot absorb water during high rainfall intensity, resulting in waterlogging at road intersections and in office areas and densely populated residential areas. The average water level during high rainfall intensity is in the range of 60-30 cm, causing local flooding. The writing of this article is based on a literature review where the main source of data used is Google Scholar. A qualitative descriptive data analysis method was applied in this study to describe the phenomenon. So, there is an appropriate problem solving regarding retention ponds in residential areas.

Abstract

Highways are one of the infrastructures for smooth traffic in both cities and villages or other areas. The more rapid the development of an area or city, the busier the traffic flow. This is due to the increase in population income so that they are able to have their own vehicles. Because the increasing number of vehicles on the road will cause traffic jams which can affect the quality of the road service. Congestion and busy traffic often occur on roads or road intersections. Road intersections are places where traffic conflicts occur. To find out the problems and solutions, intersection performance research was carried out using the PKJI 2014 analysis method. Primary data collection included the geometric conditions of the intersection and traffic volume, while secondary data was the District Network Map. North Aceh and Population of North Aceh Regency. In analyzing intersection performance using the 2014 PKJI Method which includes Capacity, Degree of Saturation and Service Level which is seen based on the volume and capacity ratio values. The observation period was carried out for 3 days (Monday, Tuesday and Saturday) from 7:00 to 21.00 WIB, with the help of a writing instrument (form). Based on the survey results, the performance of the Panton Labu intersection is currently in an unstable zone, this can be seen from the value of the degree of saturation exceeding the PKJI 2014 requirements, causing inconvenience and traffic chaos, especially on Mondays with a traffic volume (Q) of 2447.7 cur/hour at approach width A with a degree of saturation of 0.94 < Ds = Max 0.85.

Abstract

The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) is an integral part of the labor protection system. In construction services, it serves to minimize and prevent moral and material losses, loss of working hours, as well as risks to human safety and the surrounding environment, thereby supporting effective and efficient performance during the construction process. This study evaluates the implementation of SMK3 in the Krueng Keureuto Dam Construction Project in North Aceh Regency. A quantitative research approach was applied, with data collected from 30 respondents comprising the project manager, construction manager, safety officers, technical administration staff, document controllers, public relations officers, quality control staff, site engineers, field supervisors, logistics staff, warehouse staff, and project controllers. The research variables include the implementation of occupational safety and health, occupational safety and health regulations and procedures, management commitment to safety, work environment, and evaluation of occupational safety and health practices. The results show that the implementation of SMK3 in the Krueng Keureuto Dam Construction Project achieved a score of 94.22%, which falls into category 3, indicating a satisfactory level of performance

Abstract

Road pavement plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of transportation and supporting regional economic development, particularly in response to the increasing volume and axle loads of heavy vehicles. Therefore, improving the quality and durability of pavement structures is essential to ensure their long-term performance under heavy traffic conditions. One potential approach is the development of innovative asphalt mixture materials to enhance pavement performance. This study aims to evaluate the effect of incorporating fresh heavy-duty engine oil (Meditran SC 15W-40) on the Marshall characteristics of Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course (AC-WC) hot mix. The research was conducted experimentally at the Asphalt Pavement Laboratory, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Almuslim. The optimum asphalt content was determined to be 5.74%, while the aggregate specimens were immersed in fresh engine oil for varying durations of 0, 10, 20, 30, and 40 minutes. The evaluated Marshall parameters included stability, flow, Marshall Quotient (MQ), bulk density, Void in the Mix (VIM), Void in Mineral Aggregate (VMA), and Void Filled with Asphalt (VFA). The experimental results demonstrated that the Marshall stability increased with longer immersion durations, reaching the highest value of 1,300 kg after 40 minutes of immersion. Furthermore, all Marshall parameters satisfied the technical specifications established by the Indonesian Ministry of Public Works (2014). These findings indicate that the application of fresh heavy-duty engine oil as an aggregate immersion medium has the potential to serve as an innovative approach for enhancing the mechanical performance of AC-WC mixtures, resulting in greater strength, improved stability, and enhanced resistance to heavy traffic loading
