Abstract

The purpose are (1) to know the school committee to improve the quality of education at SMP Al-Khairaat Kalumpang Ternate; ( 2 ) to know the work achievement of school committee to improve the education quality  at SMP Al-Khairaat Kalumpang Ternate.The approaches used in this research is a qualitative approach.Research result indicates that ( 1 ) a school committee at SMP Al-Khairaat Kalumpang Ternate has formed by 2012 in accordance with the decree no. 325 / B-III / SMP.BP. Alkh / 11 / 2010 and has the school committee structure, namely; chief; secretaries, and the treasury; ( 2 ) the school committee meeting periodically, that is four times in a year. Involved in the talks is the principal, the teacher, student parents, Al-Khairaat foundation and the school committee. Things had been spoken in the meeting are; the school fee, standards graduation, the school programs plan ; ( 3 ) the school committee does not make a written report yet orally. This is a form of violations Kepmendiknas number 044 / u / 2002 about the school committee.( 4 ) the school committee ' s active, this could influence the development of education at SMP Al-Khairaat Kalumpang Tenate.It is a part breach Kepmendiknas number 044 / u / 2002 about the school committee. The keywords:  performance, the quality, the school committee

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis tuturan yang tidak santun yang dituturkan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa melalui WhatsApp (2) mengidentifikasi pelanggaran maksim kesantunan yang dilakukan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa dan (3) menentukan skala/indikator kesantunan yang seharusnya dituturkan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa dalam berkomunikasi melalui Whatsapp. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di program studi FKIP Universitas Khairun. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif menggunakan teori Geoffery Leech. Sumber data pada penelitian ini berupa pesan atau tuturan 20 mahasiswa dan 10 dosen via WhatsApp. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu teknik observasi, teknik simak dan catat. Teknik analisa data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data dan menyimpulkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 58.5% tuturan yang kurang santun dilakukan oleh dosen dan 41.5 % dilakukan oleh mahasiswa. Adapun kesemua enam maxim dilanggar oleh dosen maupun mahasiswa. Maksim yang paling sering dilanggar adalah maxim kemufakatan (36.5%) dan yang jarang dilanggar adalah maksim kesederhanaan atau kerendahan hati (7.3%) dan maksim penghargaan (7.3%). Representasi sikap santun dalam bertutur yang seharusnya digunakan oleh mahasiswa dan dosen berdasarkan indikator kesantunan berbahasa adalah sikap rendah hati, sikap empan papan atau menyesuaikan diri, sikap mawas diri (tahu diri), sikap menjaga perasaan dan sikap mau berkorban.

Abstract

This research aimed to identify English teachers' strategies in teaching students with hearing impairment and the challenges which the teacher faced in classroom practices. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach, The subject of this research was an English teacher at SMPLB YPAC. The data were collected by using observation checklist and interview. The result of research showed that there are two strategies used by teachers at SMPLB YPAC grade 8th, namely the manual method which has two basic components, namely sign language and finger spelling and the oral method, namely lip reading or speech reading. Implementing the strategy, there are challenges faced by teachers. The challenges are that first, students sometimes have difficulty understanding words and teachers sometimes need to repeat words or write them down. Second, the limited vocabulary of students and how to overcome them with the teacher needing to explain the definition and provide examples with the media. Third, the teacher did not push students to do exactly what the teacher says. Last, the need for repetition in delivering material with a long duration compared to regular students and the ability of the teacher to remain patient with students is very necessary in answering the last challenge.

Abstract

AISI 1045 medium-carbon steel is widely used for machining because of its excellent machinability. It balances strength and workability in various manufacturing applications, including machinery parts, gears, mold pins, automotive parts, crankshafts, bolts, and studs. The most significant disadvantage of AISI 1045 machining is that if the cutting parameters are not managed appropriately, it can affect the efficiency of the machining process, which involves tool life and product surface finish at dry cutting conditions. This study aims to determine suitable cutting parameters for AISI 1045, identify the optimum minimum tool wear (VB), and assess surface roughness (Ra). This study used various machining parameters at a cutting speed (Vc) of 35–53 m/min, feed rate (fr) of 0.15, and 0.5 mm/rev at a 1 mm constant depth of cut (DOC). The results showed that a Vc of 35 m/min and a fr of 0.15 mm/rev obtained the lowest average VB of 0.07 mm and Ra of 3.8 µm. This study found that low machining parameters produce high dry-cutting performance. This study provides guidelines for machinists to use appropriate cutting parameters when machining AISI 1045 under dry-cutting conditions at short machining times. In addition, it promotes sustainable machining and prevents air pollution from using coolants (chemical reactions).
