Abstract

Abstract. Red brick is a building material widely used in Indonesia as a non-structural separator wall of a building. Soil is the main material in the production of red bricks. The soil used for the main material of red brick is sandy clay soil. The advantage of red brick is that it is resistant to hot weather or fire because it has undergone the combustion process. However, new innovations are necessary for the red brick manufacturing process due to the reduced soil.  The innovation carried out in this study was adding the main material with fly ash and rice husk ash. The purpose of this study was to obtain red brick mixture fly ash and rice husks with increased compressive strength than normal red bricks.  The research method used is an experimental method with the addition of fly ash and rice husk ash by 4%, 8%, and 12% of the soil weight.  The results obtained from this study are red bricks with fly ash and rice husk ash produced the highest value in the fly ash mixture of 12% (in sample D2) content of 75.07 Kgf / cm² so as to improve the quality of conventional red bricks.

Abstract

The function of j alan is a means of passing goods and services which is one of the needs for society, nation, and state. According to the Director General of Highways, 2012 it is known that every economic growth of 1% has an impact on increasing traffic users by 1.5%. The increase in traffic in Kediri City has resulted in an increase in the movement of people and goods, where the movement activity clearly requires adequate transportation facilities and infrastructure both in quality and quantity. The method used with the IHCM 1997 method (Indonesia Highway Capacity Method 1997) uses field survey data in the form of traffic flow data, observation time, parking and general data on side obstacles. Meanwhile, the secondary data is in the form of geometric images of Panglima Sudirman road from the Kediri spatial and urban planning office. The study concluded that the level of road service is at level E which is a level with a moderate level of congestion, although it is still at a moderate level of congestion, but needs to be watched out for because the impact has been felt by road users. One of the alternatives used is to minimize disturbances on the left and right sides of the road, so that it is expected to be able to optimize the level of road service on the Sudirman road section.

Abstract

Bangunan air berperan penting dalam menunjang produktivitas sektor pertanian atau persawahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh ambang pada debit air pada saluran terbuka. Jenis ambang yang diuji adalah ambang lebar atau persegi panjang lalu dilakukan eksperimen dengan tinggi bukaan hilir yang berbeda-beda, yaitu 0,5 cm, 1 cm, dan 1,5 cm. Debit air diukur menggunakan flume, dengan dan tanpa ambang. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Teknik Sipil, Universitas Kadiri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya ambang pada flume mengakibatkan penurunan debit air yang cukup signifikan. Pada ambang bukaan hilir 0,5 cm, diperoleh debit pada flume tanpa ambang sebesar 0,147 m3/detik, sedangkan debit pada flume dengan ambang hanya sebesar 0,03 m3/detik. Pada ambang bukaan hilir 1 cm dan 1,5 cm, penurunan debit air juga terjadi, yaitu sebesar 0,253 m3/detik menjadi 0,03 m3/detik, dan 0,245 m3/detik menjadi 0,027 m3/detik, secara berurutan. Dengan hasil tersebut, menunjukkan bahwa adanya bendung secara efektif dapat mengatur saluran air dalam sektor pertanian atau persawahan. Penelitian ini juga memberikan informasi yang berguna dalam perencanaan dan perbaikan infrastruktur irigasi dan pengelolaan air yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The city of Kediri, as the third largest city in East Java, has cultural heritage, history and natural beauty that attracts visitors from various regions. However, population growth and motorized vehicles cause traffic jams. Signalized intersections, which are a solution to control intersection conflicts, require knowledge of intersection saturation flows to plan efficient traffic management. Analysis methods such as MKJI 1997 and Time Slice with Vehicle Operating Cost (BOK) calculations help design effective solutions. This research shows that adjusting cycle times, increasing effective width, and optimizing signals can improve transportation system performance and reduce congestion in Kediri City. Cycle time analysis taking into account factors such as vehicle type, traffic volume, and vehicle speed resulted in a cycle time of 90.7 seconds. The impact can be seen in the Degree of Saturation (DS) at various intersection arms, with service variations from E to F. Research also shows a decrease in waiting time/queuing for signal lights from 135 seconds to 118 seconds, which results in a decrease in the degree of saturation (DS) and changes in time cycle. The use of Smart Traffic Lights and traffic engineering, such as immediate left turns on the east arm and additional signs, is required. Evaluation of congestion cost efficiency shows that changing the value of side barriers can save Rp. 22,679,183 in the next five years.

Abstract

Urban development is often accompanied by traffic challenges, particularly the increasing volume of vehicles that is not commensurate with the capacity of road infrastructure. This study aims to evaluate the effect of spatial heterogeneity of vehicle volume and type on vehicle speed at four main intersections in Kediri City: Alun-Alun, Semampir, Bandar Alim, and Kawi. A quantitative approach was used through direct observation, floating car method, and linear regression analysis and ANOVA. The results show that intersections with high vehicle volume tend to have lower speeds, especially when dominated by heavy vehicles. Alun-Alun intersection has the highest R-Square value for vehicle volume (0.847), while Bandar Alim intersection recorded the highest R-Square for vehicle speed (82%). T-test and ANOVA indicate a significant effect of vehicle direction and type on speed, especially at Semampir and Bandar Alim. These findings demonstrate the importance of integrating volume and speed in traffic management, as well as the need for a data-driven and spatial approach in developing intelligent transportation systems. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss further in the objectives and body of the research regarding the causal relationship between vehicle volume, vehicle type composition, travel direction, and spatial variations between intersections, so that the research results can provide a stronger scientific basis for adaptive traffic management policies to the specific conditions of each intersection.

Abstract

Perekonomian Kota kediri yang meningkat menjadikan masyarakat antusias dalam berinvestasi di dunia perumahan. Dengan data dari Kepala Dinas Perumahan dan Kawasan Permukiman mengungkapkan bahwa Pemkot kediri juga telah menetapkan Rencana Detail Tata Ruang, dimana Sebagian wilayahnya diperuntukkan sebagai Kawasan perumahan dan pemukiman. Namun, masyarakat banyak beralih ke rumah bertingkat karena mampu meminimalisir lahan dan mendapatkan banyak ruang untuk anggota keluarga. Selain itu, rumah bertingkat harus didesain kokoh dan kuat agar mampu menopang beban baik beban mati maupun beban hidup dan beban-beban yang lain. Salah satu upaya memperkokoh bangunan dengan memperkuat struktur bangunannya seperti kolom dan balok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kuat tekan beton tekan dengan penambahan fly ash (FA) dan superplasticizer (SP) dengan harapan dapat mengurangi penggunaan semen dengan mutu yang sama. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan melakukan pengujian langsung di Laboratorium Teknik Universitas Sipil Kadiri yang mengacu pada SNI. Benda uji yang digunakan berbentuk silinder dengan ukuran 15 cm x 30 cm dengan lama pengerasan 3 hari, 7 hari, 14 hari dan 28 hari dengan kuat tekan rencana fc' 21,7 MPa. Hasil penambahan fly ash dan Superplastizer didapatkan nilai slump untuk variasi FA0%, FA4%+SP0.5%, FA8%+SP0.5% berturut-turut 13 cm, 8 cm, 6 cm dan 6 cm. Hasil penelitian pada variasi FA0%, FA4%+SP0.5%, FA8%+SP0.5%, menunjukkan kuat tekan rata-rata tertinggi terdapat pada variasi FA 8% + SP 0.5% yaitu sebesar 29.8 Mpa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan pengujian kuat tekan beton dengan penambahan fly ash dan superplasticizer mendapatkan hasil kuat tekan terbesar pada campuran beton variasi fly ash 8% dan SP 0.5 % dengan umur beton 28 hari sebesar 32,8 Mpa setara dengan K-300. Hasil tersebut dapat diaplikasikan pada pekerjanaan Kolom dan Balok pada bangunan bertingkat.

Abstract

Highways have an important role in the economic and tourism sectors, providing easy accessibility and accelerating regional growth. Senggani Gorge, a tourist attraction in Nglurup Hamlet, Sentang District, Tulungagung Regency, is the main attraction with the charm of waterfalls and natural coffee plantations in the highlands. However, accessibility constraints arise because the path to the tourist attraction is still slippery and bumpy clay. Clay soil conditions pose access difficulties, so more research is needed to understand the potential use of clay soil as a base layer of road pavement. This study focused on a research system that involved soil sampling on the access road to Senggani Gorge. Experimental methods were used to evaluate the effect of using clay subgrades on such tourist road access. The laboratory CBR test was conducted to test the strength of clay subgrade in road pavement construction, with the main aim to determine the impact of its use on tourist access to Senggani Gorge in Tulungagung. The results showed the percentage of CBR in collision variations 10, 25, and 56, as well as a comparison with research in Nglurup Hamlet which reached a CBR value of 27%. These findings are expected to provide a dimension of comparison and generalization of results, broadening understanding of the use of clay soils as road construction materials in various locations.

Abstract

Plastic waste, especially Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), is one of the biggest environmental issues in Kediri City, with a volume of 140 tons per month. This research aims to utilize PET plastic waste as an additional material in the Asphalt Concrete-Binder Course (AC-BC) mixture. The study was conducted using an experimental method with variations in PET levels of 0%, 6%, 8%, and 14% of the total weight of the mixture. The test was carried out using Marshall standards to evaluate performance parameters such as stability, flow, VIM (Void in Mix), VMA (Void in Mineral Aggregate), and VFB (Void Filled with Bitumen). The results showed that the addition of PET to 6% increased the stability of the mixture to 6300 kg, higher than the mixture without PET (6200 kg). The flow value increased with the addition of PET, reaching 3.8 mm at a rate of 14%. In addition, VMA and VIM tend to decrease, indicating an increase in the density of the mixture, while VFB achieves an optimal value at a PET level of 6%. This study concluded that PET waste can be used effectively to improve the performance of AC-BC mixtures, with an optimal level of 6%. The utilization of PET plastic waste not only improves the performance of road infrastructure but also contributes to the reduction of plastic waste, thus supporting environmentally friendly and sustainable construction solutions.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan komposisi terbaik dari penggunaan agregat kasar dari Kedak dan Pasir Lumajang, sehingga mampu meningkatkan nilai stabilitas jalan. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimental dengan pembuatan benda uji jenis lapis aspal beton yaitu AC-BC dengan variasi campuran 4,2% aspal. Beberapa pengujian untuk mendapatkan karakteristik agregat yaitu uji gradasi ayakan, uji abrasi, uji berat jenis sementara pengujian untuk mendapatkan hasil stabilitas adalah uji Marshall (Stabilitas, Flow, volumetric). Kesimpulan dari hasil pengujian Marshall dengan penggunaan agregat kasar koral Kedak Kediri dan agregat halus pasir Lumajang didapatkan nilai stabilitas rata-rata sebesar 4.843 kg hal tersebut menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap nilai stabilitas lapis perkerasan lentur normal sebesar 800 kg sehingga hasil tersebut menunjukkan penggunaan agregat kasar koral Kedak Kediri dan agregat halus pasir Lumajang meningkatkan nilai stabilitas yang akan berdampak pada daya tahan lapis perkerasan jalan kondisi lalu lintas tinggi dan tingkat umur layanan jalan yang direncanakan akan tercapai. Kata kunci: Aspal, Jalan, Marshall, Stabilitas Abstract The purpose of this research is to get the best composition from the use of coarse aggregate from Kedak and Lumajang Sand, so as to increase the road stability value. The method used is the experimental method by making asphalt concrete type specimens, namely A.C-B.C with a mixture of 4.2% asphalt. Several tests to obtain aggregate characteristics are sieve gradation test, abrasion test, specific gravity test. While testing to obtain stability results is the Marshall test (Stability, Flow, volumetric). The conclusion from the Marshall test results using Kedak Kediri coarse coral aggregate and Lumajang sand fine aggregate obtained an average stability value of 4,843 kg. This shows that there is a significant influence on the stability value of the normal flexible pavement layer of 800 kg. Thus, these results indicate that the use of Kedak Kediri coarse coral aggregate and Lumajang sand fine aggregate increases the stability value which will have an impact on the durability of the road pavement under high traffic conditions and the service life level of the planned road will be achieved. Keywords: Asphalt, Marshall, Road, Stability

Abstract

Road pavement quality is a critical factor in supporting a country's mobility and economy. Around 40% of the road length in Indonesia suffers damage, including permanent deformation and early cracking. To overcome road damage, it is important to know the pavement quality parameters such as Voids in Mineral Aggregate (VMA), Voids in Mix (VIM), and Voids Filled with Bitumen (VFB), along with the factors that influence them, such as material characteristics. This study aims to determine the effect of the fine and coarse aggregate ratio on volumetric parameters in asphalt mixtures, including VIM, VMA, and VFB. The experimental method was carried out on four samples. Aggregate characteristic tests were carried out, including gradation tests. Volumetric tests were carried out on each sample with asphalt content of 4%, 4.5%, and 5%. The research results show that the smaller fine-to-coarse aggregate ratio would increase the VMA and VIM values and decrease the VFB value. Aggregate ratio significantly affects volumetric parameters, which shows the importance of selecting aggregate with the right size distribution and determining the right ratio to achieve optimal pavement performance. The results of this study can be used as a practical guide for optimizing asphalt mix design with better quality and durability.
