Abstract

This development research aims to develop practical guidelines for animal development based on science process skills on embryogenesis observation material. This study uses a 4D development model which is carried out in 4 stages, namely: 1) the define stage defines the product requirements to be developed. 2) the design stage (design) designing prototypes and storyboards on the guide. 3) the development stage is realizing the storyboard then validating the feasibility of the product which is carried out by material experts and media experts. 4) the dissemination stage was only carried out in a large group trial. Trials were conducted to find out student responses to the guidelines developed, trials were conducted on 92 students who contracted animal development courses. Based on the data analysis, it was obtained that the average material validation was 86.03%, and the media validation was 95.72%, the average percentage of student responses was 85.23%, so it can be concluded that the practicum guide is feasible to use..

Abstract

Platyhelminthes (flatworms) are simple triploblastic animals that represent an important stage in the evolution of organ systems. This article discusses the development, organization, and adaptation of organ systems in major classes of Platyhelminthes, including Turbellaria, Trematoda, and Cestoda. Using a literature review method, the study examines the morphology and physiology of flatworms based on scientific journals and biology references. The results show that although Platyhelminthes lack specialized circulatory and respiratory systems, they possess functional digestive, excretory, nervous, and reproductive systems. Their body organization reflects an early stage of organ system specialization in invertebrates, making them an important model for understanding animal evolution, adaptation, and biological complexity.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of PBL oriented with differentiated learning to improve students' 4C skills (Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Communication, & Collaboration) in biology learning. Data collection was carried out using meta-analysis as a method in research, through a search in the Google Scholar database from 2019 to 2024, resulting in 20 primary research articles that met the specified inclusion criteria. Based on the results of the analysis of several journals, it is known that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model integrated into differentiated learning can improve students' 4C skills in solving problems, thinking critically, communicating, and collaborating to prepare students to have 21st century skills.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study is how are the differences in students' critical thinking skills in physics subjects using discovery and problem-based learning models at Madrasah Aliyah Laboratory in Jambi City. Methodology: The research design used by researchers is a quantitative research type of quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design, with a total sample of 56 students using a total sampling technique. The instrument in this study used a test with a Cronbach alpha of 0.919. The data analysis used includes descriptive and inferential statistics. Main Findings: Based on the data analysis and discussion above, it can be concluded that students' critical thinking skills in physics subjects in static electricity material are in a good category. This indicates that the application of discovery learning models and problem-based learning can improve the thinking skills of critical students. This is reinforced by testing the hypothesis through an independent sample t-test that there is a significant difference between the use of the two models in improving students' critical thinking skills, especially in physics lessons on static electricity. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research has a novelty, especially in cognitive, namely critical thinking skills, which can be improved with a scientific approach, especially using discovery learning models and problem-based learning.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of problem-based learning (PBL) model based on local wisdom in making lemang kancung beruk to improve students' critical thinking skills. Methodology: The research method is a quasi-experimental form of non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design with non-probability sampling technique-purposive sampling. The data collection techniques used critical thinking skills tests with FRISCO indicator essay tests and observation sheets. Technical data analysis used Analysis of covariance (Ancova) test and quantitative descriptive approach used SPSS 20 program. Main Findings: The research results of the Ancova hypothesis test show that the corrected model sig value is 0.000 <0.05, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, This means that the problem-based learning (PBL) model based on local wisdom in making lemang kancung beruk has a significant and moderate effect on improving students' critical thinking skills. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research is the implementation of problem-based learning (PBL) model based on local wisdom of Kerinci-Sungai Penuh area in science learning. The limitations in the study are the competencies measured in the integrated essay test and the subject matter is the science material of substances and their changes in class VII.
