Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Strength endurance is an important role in supporting the performance of middle-distance athletic athletes, which can be improved through CrossFit training. Objectives: This study aims to determine the effect of CrossFit training on increasing the strength endurance of middle-distance athletic athletes. Research method: This study uses experimental methods with a quantitative approach, the design used is pre-test post-test control group design. The sample consisted of 20 members of UPI athletic student activity units. Data was collected using an assessment sheet and analyzed using Test Of Homogeneity and Independent T-test. Results and Discussion: The results showed that there were significant differences before and after training in the experimental post-test and control post-test groups with a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.030 (<0.05) or H0 was rejected, which means that CrossFit training has a significant effect on strength endurance. Conclusion: training using CrossFit training is one solution to increase muscle strength endurance in middle-distance athletic athletes.

Abstract

Understanding statistical variability is a core competency in technology education and data literacy, particularly in digitally mediated learning environments that demand advanced cognitive processing. This exploratory qualitative study investigates students’ cognitive pathways in constructing understanding of statistical variability through interactions with digital, technology-based tasks. Using a Think-Aloud Protocol supported by screen recordings, data were collected from 12 students at a public senior high school in Bandung, West Java, and analyzed using Cognitive Task Analysis. The findings reveal multi-layered cognitive pathways, beginning with the identification of visual elements, followed by exploration of data changes, and progressing toward meaning construction and interpretation of variability. Difficulties emerge at the stage of integrating concepts, especially when students must connect dynamic visual data with abstract statistical interpretations. The study contributes to theoretical insights into students’ cognitive structures in digital learning contexts and offers practical implications for designing adaptive, technology-based instructional strategies aligned with learners’ thinking processes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the application of the interval training method on increasing anaerobic alactitic capacity in female futsal athletes. Anaerobic alactitic capacity is one of the components of physical condition that is very important in supporting futsal performance, especially in short-duration explosive activities such as sprints, accelerations, and rapid changes of direction that occur repeatedly during the match. The research method used is an experimental method with a one-group pre-test post-test design. The research subjects were 21 female futsal athletes selected using a purposive sampling technique from a total population of 24 athletes, with the criteria of actively participating in training and being in healthy physical condition. The instrument used to measure anaerobic alactitic capacity was the Shuttle Run Test. The interval training program was implemented in a structured manner for 16 meetings with high intensity and controlled recovery time. Data analysis was carried out through descriptive tests to see the data overview, normality tests as a prerequisite for analysis, and paired sample t-tests to test differences in pre-test and post-test values. The results showed a significant improvement in anaerobic alactitic capacity, indicated by a decrease in the mean Shuttle Run Test time from 6.75 seconds in the pre-test to 6.46 seconds in the post-test. The paired sample t-test analysis revealed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.05), confirming that the application of the interval training method had a significant effect on increasing anaerobic alactacid capacity in female futsal athletes.

Abstract

Speed is a crucial physical component in pencak silat, particularly in executing the sickle kick technique, which plays an important role in scoring effectiveness during matches. However, school-age pencak silat athletes often demonstrate limited kick speed due to insufficient specific strength and neuromuscular development. Therefore, training methods that integrate strength development with technical movement specificity are needed to optimize performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of resistance training integrated with the sickle kick technique on increasing the speed of the sickle kick of school-age pencak silat athletes. The study used a quantitative approach with an experimental method through a one-group pretest–posttest design. The subjects consisted of 10 school-age pencak silat athletes who participated in extracurricular pencak silat activities at Muhammadiyah 6 Junior High School Bandung, with a total sampling technique. The treatment was resistance training using a resistance band which was carried out for 14 meetings with a frequency of three times per week. Measurement of the sickle kick speed was carried out by counting the number of kicks executed correctly within 10 seconds towards paching during the pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, and paired samples t-tests at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed an increase in the average value of the sickle kick speed from 15.60 in the pretest to 18.80 in the posttest. The paired samples t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that resistance training significantly increased the speed of the sickle kick in school-age pencak silat athletes. This finding confirms that resistance training based on specific movement techniques is effective in developing the performance of school-age pencak silat athletes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ladder drill training on stepping agility in learn-to-train taekwondo athletes. Agility training is very important in taekwondo because technical movements such as attacks and dodges require the ability to change direction and high speed of movement. This study used an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving 12 taekwondo athletes aged 9–12 years from Dojang Dozen, Cimahi City. The instrument used was a validated taekwondo agility test. The treatment in the form of a ladder drill training program was given 16 times for 5 weeks, with movement variations such as 2 shifts in and out, 2 switches in and out, in and out 2 sifts sideways, hop forward back and switch. After the ladder drill treatment and posttest, the posttest data was obtained with a good category agility value (agile movement) is 26.85 and the less agile category agility is 29.20, and the average pretest percentage is 28.88 and the average posttest percentage is 28.15, with an increase between the pretest and posttest of 2.5%. The results of the paired sample test showed that there was a significant increase in the post-test score compared to the pre-test, with a significance value of 0.000 (2-tailed) < 0.05. These findings prove that ladder drill is effective in improving stepping agility in young athletes, and can be used as an alternative training method in taekwondo coaching programs.
