Abstract

Prostate cancer is a cancer that attacks the prostate gland causing the death rate which is high enough. One of the causes of prostate cancer is the androgen receptor (AR) in the gland cells that initiates the formation of excess cell proliferation, thus causing prostate cancer. AR inhibitor that is known is antiandrogen (biculatamide and enzalutamide). This study aimed to test the 6-gingerol compound of ginger as an AR inhibitor drug candidate for prostate cancer using silico methode. The 3D structure of the 6-gingerol compound was taken from PubChem, the prediction of targeted protein used SwissTargetPrediction and Pharmapper, analysis and docking 6-gingerol and antiandrogens with AR using Pyrx software, visualization compounds and protein interactions using PyMOLsoftware. Visualization results shows that the interaction of 6-gingerol, biculatamide, and enzalutamide with AR have the same site. This proves that the 6-gingerol is potential as anAR inhibitor candidate.Keywords: 6-gingerol; prostate’s cancer; reverse docking

Abstract

Indonesia as Maritime Island has many water regions. Waterfall is one of the water region that has a large number of aquatic macroinvertebrates. The aim of this research is to collect and identify the various aquatic macroinvertebrates that can be found in several waterfalls in east Region of Malang, East Java. The research was carried out on September until November 2015 in six waterfalls: Coban Jahe, Coban Pelangi, Coban Trisula, Coban Kembar, Coban Ringin Gantung and Coban Pitu. Dragnet was used to collect the samplesof aquatic macroinvertebrates in some sampling point. The result of this research was found 38 families that belonged to 18 ordo in 6 different classes: Insecta, Oligochaeta, Gastropoda, Hirudinae, Turbellaria, and Crustacea. The information about the inventory of aquatic macroinvertebrates will give another suggestion for the local government to conserve this animals especially waterfall environment, not only as tourist area but also as a source of knowledge to do another research. Keywords: Aquatic macroinvertebrates; inventory; Malang; waterfalls

Abstract

Matakuliah Taksonomi Hewan Vertebrata merupakan matakuliah yang membahas mengenai sistem pengelompokan hewan berdasarkan karakteristik morfologi, biokimia, tingkah laku, ekologi, dsb. Salah satu kajian penting dalam matakuliah ini adalah filogeni yang mempelajari hubungan kekerabatan antar makhluk hidup. Seiring berkembangnya teknologi, pendekatan nyang digunakan pada matakuliah ini adalah analisis hubungan kekerabatan makhluk hidup berdasarkan data molekular.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kebutuhan buku ajar pada matakuliah Taksonomi Hewan Vertebrata pada konsep pendekatan molekular untuk merekonstruksi taksonomi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan merujuk tahapan research and information collecting pada model pengembangan Borg and Gall. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penyebaran angket, observasi, dan wawancara. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 96,6% mahasiswa belum pernah menggunakan buku ajar berbasis penelitian yang merujuk pada pendekatan molekular, 93,7% mahasiswa belum mengenal dengan baik mengenai pendekatan molekular untuk merekonstruksi filogeni organisme dan 90,3% mahasiswa memiliki konsep yang salah mengenai hasil filogeni pendekatan molekular. analisis kebutuhan buku ajar juga menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada buku ajar yan gmembahas mengenai pendekatan molekular pada matakuliah Taksonomi Hewan Vertebrata.
