Abstract

Implementasi total quality management (TQM) tidak akan berjalan dengan sukses tanpa menggunakan qualitymanagement tools yang tepat. Meskipun penggunaan dari quality management tools merupakan hal yang vital dariimplementasi TQM, banyak dari perusahaan mengalami kesulitan dalam pelaksanaannya. Beberapa kesulitan yangdapat disebutkan antara lain: pelatihan yang tidak dirancang dengan baik, penggunaan yang tidak tepat dariquality management tools, serta tidak akuratnya proses pengukuran dan data handling. Penelitian ini bertujuanuntuk menunjukkan dengan efektif aplikasi seven tools dan analisis 5W+1H sebagai salah satu quality managementtools untuk mengurangi cacat pada produk. Studi kasus dilaksanakan pada proses produksi galon di PT. Berlina,Tbk., yang berlokasi di Surabaya. Persentase cacat untuk produk galon sangat tinggi dan dianggap sebagai salahsatu penyebab berkurangnya keuntungan perusahaan. Berdasarkan pengolahan data dengan menggunakan seventools, didapatkan enam jenis cacat, yaitu: kotor hitam, bottom yang melipat, cacat lengket, adanya gelembung, sertatidak meratanya lelehan dan ketebalan produk. Rekomendasi dengan menggunakan analisis 5W+1H diberikanuntuk memperbaiki kinerja pengendalian kualitas perusahaan serta meminimalisasi produk yang cacat.Kata Kunci: 5W+1H, produk cacat, pengendalian kualitas, seven tools, statistical process control

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis adanya bahaya di area produksi serta melakukan perhitungan skorterhadap risiko yang mungkin terjadi. Setelah mendapatkan skor, dapat dilihat tingkatrisikotersebut apakah dapat diterima, rendah, medium, tinggi, atau sangat tinggi. Hal ini dilakukan karena kecelakaan kerja yang terjadi di CV Mebel Internasional berdampak buruk bagi karyawan dan perusahaan itu sendiri. Oleh sebab itu, perlu diadakan perhitungan tingkat risiko yang diharapkan perusahaan dapat lebih waspada dan kedepannyaserta kecelakaan dapat diminimalisir atau bahkan dihilangkan. Sebagai perusahaan yang masih memiliki pekerjaan manual dan melibatkan banyak pekerja, CV Mebel Internasional kurang tegas dalammenangani Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja.Kurang tegas dalam hal ini adalah pemakaian alat pelindung diri yang terkadang dilanggar oleh pekerja kurang ditindaklanjuti.Salah satu metode yang dilakukan untuk mengantisipasi adanya kecelakaan kerja adalah dengan job safety analysis (JSA). Dengan menggunakan JSA maka potensi bahaya dapat diminimalisir bahkan dihilangkan. Identifikasi bahaya dan risiko tersebut dikelola melalui sebuah formulir yang berisi uraian pekerjaan dan bahaya yang mungkin timbul. Dilakukan dengan sistem penilaian yang mengacu pada matriks tingkat keparahan dan tingkat risiko. Matriks tersebut adalah matriks  yang digunakan untuk menganalisis risiko dengan teknik semikuantitatif. Dengan demikian maka potensi bahaya dan risiko tersebut dapat dicegah dan dikelola dengan baik.  ABSTRACT [Title: Identification of Hazard and Risk in CV Mebel International Production Area, Semarang using Job Safety Analysis Method]. This study aimed to analyze the hazards in the production area as well as perform calculations score against risks that may occur. After getting a score, it can be seen that whether the level of risk is acceptable, low, medium, high, or very high. This is done because the accidents that occurred at the CV Mebel Internasional is bad for the employees and the company itself. Therefore, there should be the calculation of the level of risk that the company expected to be more vigilant and future as well as accidents can be minimized or even eliminated. As a company that still has the manual work and involves many workersCV Mebel Internasional less assertive in dealing with Health and Safety. Less assertive in this regard is the use of personal protective equipment that is sometimes violated by workers less acted upon. One method is to anticipate the existence of workplace accidents is to job safety analysis (JSA). By using the JSA, the potential hazards can be minimized or even eliminated. Hazard identification and risk is managed through a form containing the job description and the dangers that may arise. Performed by a scoring system which refers to the matrix of severity and the degree of risk. The matrix is a matrix that is used to analyze risk with a semiquantitative technique. Thus, the potential hazards and risks can be prevented and managed properly.

Abstract

Permintaan konsumen yang tinggi merupakan suatu tantangan bagi perusahaan apakah mampu memenuhi permintaan tersebut atau tidak. Penggunaan mesin merupakan suatu cara menjaga atau meningkatkan produktivitas sehingga mampu menghadapi tantangan tersebut. SKM OASIS ialah salah satu pabrik PT. Djarum Kudus yang memproduksi rokok menggunakan mesin dengan tingkat produktivitas tinggi. Namun ada beberapa mesin yang memiliki tingkat produktivitas rendah. Salah satunya ialah mesin Delphi. Mesin Delphi ialah mesin pengupas rokok reject untuk memisahkan tembakau dari kertas dan filter. Secara teori mesin ini mampu menghasilkan tembakau 400kg/jam, sedangkan kenyataannya hanya mampu menghasilkan rata-rata 150kg/jam. Hal tersebut menunjukkan tingkat efektivitas mesin yang rendah sehingga merugikan perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif mesin Delphi dengan menggunakan metode overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Data yang digunakan ialah data operasi mesin Delphi periode 1 Oktober 2016 sampai 13 Januari 2017 pada Shift 1. Hasil perhitungan OEE secara keseluruhan yaitu 39,447%. Angka tersebut jauh di bawah standar internasional Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM)  yaitu 85%. Selanjutnya dilakukan identifikasi penyebab-penyebab rendahnya nilai OEE dengan menggunakan cause-effect diagram. Hasil analisis menunjukkan penyebab rendahnya nilai OEE terdiri dari tiga faktor yaitu mesin, material dan metode. Lalu, berdasarkan penyebab tersebut, diberikan usulan perbaikan untuk meningkatkan nilai OEE sehingga produktivitas mesin dapat meningkat.ABSTRACTEFFECTIVENESS ANALYSIS OF DELPHI MACHINE IN PT. DJARUM KUDUS WITH OVERALL EQUIPMENT EFECTIVENESS METHOD AND CAUSE-EFFECT DIAGRAM. High consumer demand is a challenge for companies to fulfill the demand or not. The use of machines is a way to maintain or increase productivity so as be able to face these challenges. SKM OASIS is one of PT. Djarum Kudus which produces cigarettes using machines with high productivity levels. However there are some machines which have low productivity levels. One of them is the Delphi machine. Delphi machine is a reject cigarette peeler to separate tobacco from paper and filter. In theory, this machine has a capability to produce tobacco 400kg / hour, whereas in fact it is only produce an average of 150kg / hour. It shows a low level of machine effectiveness so it can detrimental to the company. This study aims to find out how effective Delphi machine using the method of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). The data used is the Delphi machine operating data's period from October 1st, 2016 to January 13th, 2017 on Shift 1. The overall OEE calculation result is 39.447%. This result is far below the international standard of Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) that is 85%. Further identification of causes of low value of OEE by using cause-effect diagram. The results of the analysis show that the causes of low OEE values consist of three factors: machine, material and method. Based on the cause, the company should make an improvements to increase the value of OEE so that machine productivity can increase.

Abstract

PT. Tiga Manunggal Synthetic Industries merupakan industri yang bergerak di bidang industri tekstil yang memproduksi kain polyester yang diekspor ke Timur Tengah, Jepang, Afrika, dan Vietnam. Banyaknya industry lain yang bergerak di bidang yang sama mengharuskan perusahaan ini untuk terus memperbaiki semua aspek yang ada di perusahaan, baik yang berasal dari luar maupun dalam. Salah satu upaya perbaikan yang bisa dilakukan adalah dengan meningkatkan produktivitas dari perusahaan tersebut. Pengukuran dan analisis produktivitas penting dilakukan guna mengetahui tingkat efisiensi dan efektivitas penggunaan sumber daya. Dengan produktivitas yang tinggi diharapkan perusahaan dapat terus kompetitif dan berdaya saing. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan pengukuran produktivitas. Dengan melakukan pengukuran produktivitas perusahaan dapat melihat capaian yang telah diraih sebagai landasan untuk  perencanaan masa depan perusahaan. Pengukuran produktivitas ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Objective Matrix (OMAX). Di perusahaan ini produktivitas sudah baik, namun masih ada di beberapa periode yang produktivitasnya mengalami penurunan dari periode sebelumnya. Kenaikan produktivitas terjadi pada periode Desember 2014, Mei 2015, Juni 2015, Agustus 2015, dan Oktober 2015; sedang penurunan terjadi pada periode Januari 2015, Februari 2015, Maret 2015, April 2015, Juli 2015, dan September 2015. Peningkatan tertinggi berada pada periode Desember 2014, yaitu 0.501, dan penurunan produktivitas terendah terjadi pada periode September 2015 yaitu sebesar 0,496.Dan kriteria yang perlu ditingkatkan adalah produktivitas jumlah pekerja, jam kerja mesin, dan penggunaan energi listrik.  Abstract Productivity measurement was conducted at PT. Tiga Manunggal Synthetic Industries.  PT. Tiga Manunggal Synthetic Industries is a textile industry which produces polyester fabrics that are exported to the Middle East, Japan, Africa, and Vietnam. Because many other industries engaged in the same field requires companies to continuously improve every aspect of the company, both from outside and inside. One improvement efforts that can be done is to increase the productivity of the company. Measurement and analysis of important productivity conducted to determine the level of efficiency and effectiveness of resource use. With high productivity, company expected to continue competitive. It is necessary to measure productivity. By measuring the productivity, the company can see the achievements that have been achieved as the basis for planning the company's future. Productivity measurement is done by using Objective Matrix (OMAX). In this company’s productivity has been good, but still exists in some period whose productivity has decreased from the previous period. The increase in productivity occurred in the period of December 2014, May 2015, June 2015, August 2015 and October 2015; moderate decrease occurred in the period January 2015, February 2015, March 2015, April 2015, July 2015 and September 2015. The highest increase was in December 2014 period, ie 0.501, and the lowest productivity decline occurred in the period September 2015 is equal to 0.496. And criteria that need to be improved is the productivity of workers, the working hours of the machine, and use of electrical energy.

Abstract

This study aims to demonstrate effectively application of the seven tools as one of the quality management tools to reduce product defects. A case study has been conducted in the production of white body at PT. XYZ, which is located in Semarang. The high percentage of defects is considered as one causes of not attaining the target of the company. Seven tools, which consist of check sheet, stratification, histogram, scatter diagram, control chart, Pareto chart, and cause-and-effect diagram, are used to analyze the causes of the defects. Based on data processing results, there are eight types of defects, namely: tobi, hage, burn back, crolling, saya boro, broken back stamp, hama kake, and nama kire. Recommendations for improvement have been proposed using 5W+1H analysis to improve the company's quality control performance and minimize product defects.

Abstract

Efisiensi menjadi salah satu ukuran performansi pada suatu institusi pendidikan. Secara umum, efisiensi didefinisikan sebagai rasio dari output dan input. Pada sektor pendidikan, efisiensi diartikan sebagai ukuran kinerja suatu entitas pendidikan (siswa, sekolah, universitas, bahkan sistem pendidikan suatu negara) untuk menghasilkan suatu output dengan menggunakan input yang ada. Pada literatur ekonomi pendidikan, terdapat dua metode yang sering digunakan untuk mengukur efisiensi, yaitu data envelopment analysis (DEA) dan stochastic frontier analysis (SFA). Penelitian ini membahas metode SFA untuk mengukur efisiensi pada sektor pendidikan dan keuntungan yang didapatkan dibanding apabila menggunakan metode DEA. Fungsi produksi yang kerap digunakan untuk mengukur efisiensi juga akan dibahas di sini. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga akan menampilkan variabel-variabel (input dan output) yang digunakan di literatur untuk mengukur efisiensi pada sektor pendidikan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat lebih memperkenalkan metode SFA (khususnya pada peneliti di Indonesia) yang mempunyai berbagai keuntungan namun kurang populer dibandingkan dengan metode DEA.

Abstract

As competition increases, delivering better service becomes more important; it is not with the expception of PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (PT TELKOM), which is the only state-owned enterprise as well as the largest telecommunication and network service provider in Indonesia. This is because service quality is considered as an important aspect for the success of the service provider. This study aims to assess the service quality of PT. TELKOM for IndiHome products. A preliminary study showed that there are many customers complaining about IndiHome's service quality. In addition, the tight competition and the emergence of several similar service providers as well as attractive promotion will inevitably attract customers not to be loyal if PT. TELKOM does not immediately improve the quality of the service. This research was conducted not only to assess the service quality of IndiHome (using SERVQUAL), but also to give some recommendations to PT. TELKOM especially Regional 1 Sumatra in order to attain customer satisfaction. There were 153 respondents who participated in this study. The results show that on average, customers are not satisfied (the gap value is 1.539). This negative value means that the customers have high expectations of the services that should be delivered by PT. TELKOM, but in reality the performance of the service is not as high as their expectations. Therefore, some recommendations are given to improve the performance of IndiHome service quality so that the customers are satisfied.

Abstract

This study aims to assess customer satisfaction of a logistics service company in Indonesia. Several researches employed the classical importance-performance analysis (IPA) to accomplish the objective; instead, this research used importance performance competitor analysis (IPCA). IPCA is considered as a remedy for IPA since the later has been criticized for several reasons, e.g., the relative structure of IPA and its lack of competitors’ consideration. A case study has been conducted to show the applicability of IPCA. Result shows that several service attributes have to be improved since they have lower performance than the competitor. Recommendations that can be done as a part to continuous improvement were provided. Finally, we also show that using IPA—without considering the competitor—would bring the management to a misleading interpretation. Abstract

This study investigated the relationship between sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a (chl-a) concentration in the North Coast of Semarang, Indonesia. The data were collected using Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer Satellite (Aqua-MODIS) chl-a level-3 standard mapped image for a period of five years (2015–2019). Due to cloud coverage, monthly averaged data were used in this study. The result shows that monthly averaged SST ranged from 28.1°C to 31.3 °C. This SST is relatively higher in the transition season (especially in the first transition season) compared to the east and west monsoons season. Chl-a concentration ranged from 0.002 mg/m3 to 1.388 mg/m3. This concentration fluctuates according to the seasonal winds. The maximum concentration of chl-a occurred in the west monsoon season, while the minimum one happened in the second transition season. Using the Pearson correlation coefficient, the correlation is -0.092, which indicates a weak negative correlation between SST and chl-a concentration. This study is expected to give an insight into the potential fishing ground since the chl-a concentration can be such an indicator for the presence of fish.
