Abstract

Kelapa sawit merupakan salah satu komoditas perkebunan utama di Provinsi Riau yang memberikan kontribusi devisa yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyeleksi dan mengisolasi fungi endofit tanaman pinang yang memiliki potensi antagonis tertinggi sebagai agens hayati terhadap G. boninense yang menyebabkan penyakit busuk pangkal batang kelapa sawit dan mengidentifikasi hingga tingkat genus. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Penyakit Tumbuhan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Riau, Pekanbaru. Penelitian yang digunakan metode eksplorasi, observasi dan eksperimen. Penelitian terdiri dari 6 langkah: isolasi dan pemurnian jamur endofit tanaman pinang, uji hipovirulen jamur endofit tanaman pinang, uji diameter dan kecepatan tumbuh jamur endofit tanaman pinang, uji antagonis jamur endofit tanaman pinang terhadap G.boninense, uji hiperparasitisme jamur endofit tanaman pinang yang memiliki daya antagonis tinggi terhadap G.boninense dan identifikasi isolat jamur endofit. Hasil dari penelitian ditemukan 17 isolat jamur endofit, 10 isolat bersifat hipovirulen dan 7 isolat bersifat virulen. Isolat P2 memiliki nilai daya antoginis tertinggi yaitu sebesar 77,67% dan diameter serta kecepatan pertumbuhan isolat P2 (90 mm dan 33,45 mm/hari). Tipe Hiperparasit isolat P2 adalah pelilitan, isolat P9 adalah lisis dan penjeratan (isolat P16). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa isolat P2 termasuk dalam genus Trichoderma dan isolat P9 termasuk dalam genus Cylindrocladium.

Abstract

Colletotrichum capsici is the cause of anthracnose disease on red chili plants that causes a significant decrease chili production in Riau Province. One of the control techniques that can be applied is biological control using endophytic fungi isolated from plants, including sago plants. This study aims to evaluate the consortium of four endophytic isolates of sago plants and to obtain the best consortium of endophytic isolates in inhibiting the fungus, C. capsici which causes anthracnose disease on red chili. This research was carried out at the Plant Disease Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University from June to September 2021. The research was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design. Four isolates TRA (Trichoderma sp. from root), TRP (Trichoderma sp. from leaf), TRB (Trichoderma sp. from stems)  and TV (Thielaviopsis sp.) were compatible and could be consorted. Consortium of TRP+TV, TRA+TRB+TV, TRA+TV, TRB+TV and TRA+TRP+TRB+TV had the ability to inhibit the growth of the fungus C. capsici on PDA medium. Consortium TRP+TV had the highest inhibition potency to C. capsici, which was 61.67%. Consortium TRB+TV had the best ability to delay the initial emergence of disease symptoms and to decrease the disease intensity on red chilli fruits, which was 29.67%.
