Abstract

TB Paru merupakan penyakit menular yang menjadi masalah kesehatan serius di dunia. Agar tidak terjadi penularan yang terus-menerut pasien TB Paru harus patuh menjalani pengobatan sampai tuntas. Salah satu intervensi yang dapat dilakukan agar pasien TB Paru dapat patuh menjalani pengobatan yaitu dengan mobilephone reminder. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan mobilephone reminder terhadap kepatuhan pengobatan pasien TB Paru. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasy experimental dengan pretest and posttest with control group design. Pada penelitian ini sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 60 responden, sebanyak 30 responden kelompok kontrol dan 30 responden kelompok intervensi. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam mengukur kepatuhan pengobatan pasien TB Paru yaitu The 8-item Morisky Medication Scale (MMAS-8). Analisis data menggunakan uji wilcoxon test dan mann whitney test. Hasil uji wilcoxon test pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen memiliki nilai p 0,000 dan kelompok kontrol nilai p 0,105 kemudian kedua kelompok diuji beda menggunakan mann whitney test menunjukkan hasil nilai p sebesar 0,000 dimana hasil tersebut bermakna bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan mobilephone reminder terhadap kepatuhan pengobatan pasien TB Paru. Sehingga dengan adanya mobilephone reminder kepatuhan pengobatan pasien TB Paru dapat semakin meningkat dan mencegah terjadinya penularan yang terus-menerus di dalam keluarga maupun di masyarakat.

Abstract

Background: Around the world, 66% of people with diabetes mellitus have diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). DPN is a major cause of morbidity and mortality due to complications such as diabetic foot ulcers, which often result in amputation of extremities or difficulty maintaining balance which results in trauma. DPN is nerve damage caused by hyperglycemia. DM patients who are able to manage their disease independently such as controlling blood sugar is called diabetes self care management (DSCM). Objective: To analyze the relationship between diabetes self care management and diabetic peripheral neuropathy in elderly people with diabetes mellitus in Jember Regency. Methods: This research is an observational study with a cross-sectional design with a purposive sampling technique to determine which Community Health Centers in Jember Regency will be used as research sites. The number of samples is 101 elderly with diabetes mellitus in Jember Regency. The DSCM data collection used The Summary of Diabetes Self Care Activities Questionnaire and the DPN used the Neuropathy System Score. Results: The level of diabetes self care management in elderly DM in Jember Regency was in the poor category, with the majority being 61 people (60.4%). The level of diabetic peripheral in the elderly with diabetes mellitus in Jember Regency is in the severe category, with 67 people (66.3%). In the Pearson correlation test, the relationship between diabetes self care management and diabetic peripheral neuropathy in elderly people with diabetes mellitus in Jember Regency obtained a p-value of 0.000 (p <0.05). Discussion: The better the DSCM score, the lighter the DPN complications and vice versa. Conclusion: There is a relationship between diabetes self care management and diabetic peripheral neuropathy in elderly people with diabetes mellitus in Jember Regency. Abstract

The prevalence of diabetes mellitus (DIABETES MELLITUS) has increased both in the world and in Indonesia and is a cause of death in developed countries and has become an epidemic in developing countries. Diabetes mellitus with chronic hyperglycemia can cause abnormalities and failure in various organs of the body, especially nerves, heart, kidneys, eyes and blood vessels. The program to control non-communicable diseases has been carried out by the Public health center through programs in integrated coaching post, but health promotion regarding non-communicable diseases is also needed at the integrated service post. Community service activities aim to increase the knowledge of the elderly with diabetes mellitus in prevention efforts and form a positive attitude about DIABETES MELLITUS. Activities carried out in the form of health education and leaflet distribution, early screening and monitoring of self-care activities carried out. The results of this community service activity showed that there was an increase in the knowledge of the elderly about non-communicable diseases, especially diabetes mellitus and there was an increase in public awareness about promotive and preventive efforts from the disease. Continuous community service activities for the elderly and the community in general are important to do so that they can improve the health status of the community.
