Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the types of defects in quail eggs, the level of defects in production, and the factors causing product defects in order to minimize the level of defects in the next production period using the Seven Tools method. This study was conducted on quail egg production by analyzing the types of defects in quail eggs and the factors causing them. In this study, the method used was the Seven Tools method, namely check sheet, histogram, pareto diagram, scatter diagram, fishbone diagram, and flowchart. In one month, 3369 quail eggs were defective. Based on the data obtained, there were four types of quail egg defects, including 674 soft shells, 1684 broken eggs, 337 cracked eggs, and 674 shells without patterns. In the application of quail egg quality control using the Seven Tools method, it was found that the largest type of defect occurred in broken quail eggs (50%). The factors causing the defective product based on the fishbone diagram include humans, methods, raw materials, and the environment

Abstract

Oocyte In vitro maturation (IVM) is one of the important parts for in vitro fertilization (IVF). The success of oocyte maturation is influenced by the composit ion and the quality of IVM medium. Culture medium which used to IVM not only influences the oocyte process to reach metaphase II and proceed the fertilization, but also influences to developmental of an embryo. Crude sperm extract has high-level protein kinase and contains some sperm proteins. Crude sperm extracts expected as natural maturation medium that can increase the success of In Vitro Maturation (IVM). The characterization of crude sperm extracts profile with sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). Oocyte maturation is observed in the 26th hour from the first culture. The result of crude sperm extract characterization obtained from the protein with the molecular weight is 176.8, 63.2, 58.4, 55.3, 52.4, 49.7, 44.6, 38.02, 36.03, 34.15 and 26.8 kDa. Oocyte maturation with concentration of crude sperm extract 1.5 µg.mL-1 with 71.6% matures oocyte and oocyte maturation with concentration of crude sperm extract 2.5 µg.mL-1 with 75% matures oocyte. Keywords: Crude Sperm Extract, In Vitro Maturation, Oocyte

Abstract

Mastery of basic vocabulary is a crucial component in Arabic language learning, as it serves as the foundation for other language skills. However, in practice, vocabulary instruction often focuses on mechanical memorization without contextualization, causing vocabulary to be easily forgotten and difficult to apply in sentences. This study aims to improve students’ mastery of basic Arabic vocabulary through the application of the contextual memorization method. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted with seventh-grade students at a junior high school in an Islamic boarding school in Karawang during the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The learning activities included introducing vocabulary meanings, understanding singular and plural forms, reading contextual hiwar, providing sentence models, having students construct their own sentences, and conducting evaluations through exercises. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ vocabulary mastery, as reflected in the increase in the average score from 65.46 to 87.86. In addition to improved learning outcomes, positive changes were observed in students’ learning behavior, including increased participation, motivation, and ability to use vocabulary appropriately in context. These findings demonstrate that the contextual memorization method is effective in helping students understand the meaning, function, and use of vocabulary in a more meaningful and applicable manner. Therefore, this method can serve as an alternative strategy for teaching Arabic vocabulary at the junior high school level
