Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh penyapihan dini pada masa post partum terhadap siklus estrus induk kambing peranakan Boer F1 (Crossbreed Boer dan PE). Selama post partum, regulasi siklus estrus akan dihambat oleh prolaktin dan oksitosin yang dipengaruhi oleh mekanisme suckling. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel sebanyak 9 ekor induk kambing dalam 3 kelompok yakni kelompok penyapihan selang waktu 42 hari post partum (PP), 56 hari post partum (PP), dan 91 hari post partum sebagai kontrol. Pengamatan siklus estrus dengan menggunakan vaginal smear. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis dengan pendekatan kualitatif secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, interval siklus estrus kedua pasca sapih pada induk kambing kontrol  saat fase proestrus adalah 2 hari, fase estrus selama 2 hari, fase metestrus selama 2 - 3 hari, dan fase diestrus terjadi selama 14 - 15 hari. Selain itu siklus estrus pertama pasca sapih pada perlakuan penyapihan 42 hari (6 minggu), 56 hari (8 minggu), dan kontrol pada selang 91 hari (13 minggu) post partum adalah berkisar 16,7 ± 2,65 hari, 17,7 ± 1,53 hari , dan 10,3 ± 3,06 hari. Sedangkan siklus estrus kedua pasca sapih secara berturut – turut adalah berkisar 18 ±  1 hari, 19 ± 1,73 hari, dan 20,7 ± 1,58 hari. Hasil uji analisis menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada beda nyata (p>0,05) antar semua kelompok pada siklus estrus pertama pasca sapih. Kesimpulannya, interval siklus estrus kedua pasca sapih pada kelompok induk kambing sapih 42 hari PP adalah 18 hari dan sapih 56 hari PP adalah 19 hari dan kontrol rata – rata berkisar 20,7 hari. Abstract

Zona pellucida is one of the protective layer of the egg cell and has a function as an intermediary species-specific fertilization. Glycoproteins of human and bovine zona pellucida is composed of three types, namely ZP1, ZP2 and ZP3. ZP3 gene has amino acid sequence homology with other mammals. Oligosaccharides components of the zona pellucida glycans are composed from units of asparagine residues (N -linked) and serine/threonine (O -linked). The aims of this study was to analyze the DNA sequences of human and bovine and further predicts glycans site on amino acid sequence of human and bovine ZP3. In this study, ZP3 gene fragments have been isolated from bovine and humans were analyzed in Silico. This work were conducted by comparing the data of DNA sequence from human and bovine PCR product using NCBI BLAST. The results showed that there were similarities at amino acid positions number 23-38. bZP3 sequence had three glycans site (Asn-X-Thr/Ser) and one site on hZP3 glycans. One of the sites was conserved between the two species.

Abstract

A crucial trait of a high economic value of goats is calving to more than one kid (prolificacy potency). The high prolificacy potency (> 1 kid) has a higher income compared to single kids. This study described the potential of Indonesian Local Etawah Goat (ILEG) for prolific trait and the morphometric of body and breeding values in various environments as a basis for selection. It involved smallholder farmers who breed ILEG does from 14 villages in East Java. The research was conducted on a field survey to obtain primary data about the phenotypic superior ILEG goats based on the status of the prolific trait. The study used 520 does with 1347 prolific records obtained. The results showed that the prolificacy values ranged from 2.12-1.42 heads/calving (medium to high category). The variation of prolificacy was 0.53, and the breeding values of the prolificacy trait were 1.48-1.74. The average of body morphometrics was varied with the following details. Chest circumference was 81.06 + 4.63 cm, body length was 76.64 + 4.33 cm, shoulder height was 75.34 + 5.83 cm and ear length were 27.44 + 3.02 cm. This study concluded that the prolific rate was medium to high category. The prolific variation was higher than body morphometry variation, and the prolificacy EBVs of breeding villages divided into four unique pattern boxplots. The prolific trait could be the basis for new considerations in the ILEG breeding program, either through selection or mating.

Abstract

The Boercang goat is a crossbred between male Boer goat and local female goat. This study was aimed to analyze the production and physical performances of Boercang goats during the weaning up to the age of one year. Thirty nine males and 37 females goats aged 3 - 12 months were used in the study. Body weight, daily weight gain, coat colour pattern, horn, ears, nose shape and birth type were recorded during study. The data obtained were calculated for the means, standard deviation (SD), and coefficient of variation (CV) and the analysis was descriptive. Student t test was performed to compare differences between groups of age and between group of sex. Field observations showed that the qualitative characteristics of Boercang such as body colour, horns, ears, and nose shape were 50 % identical with the characteristics of male Boer. The average body weight of the male Boercang goats was 23.02±1.56 kg whereas the female Boercang goats was 21.86±1.63 kg. Body weight gain was affected by age and birth type. The conclusion is that the genetic superiority of the qualitative characteristics of the Boer goats is still expressed in the offspring although it varies; for the characteristics of horns, colour patterns and ears still contribute more than 50%. The appearance of superior quantitative traits from the male Boer goat during the period of weaning up to one year of age both based on the birth type and offspring sex tends to be higher than the appearance of local goat.

Abstract

DISTRIBUTION OF Solen sp IN BANGKALAN WATERSSolen sp potential needs to be developed on the island of Madura, particularly in Bangkalan. Solen sp utilization has increased which has the potential to overfishing. Therefore, this study aims to determine the density of Solen sp and their ecology in the waters Modung village, Modung District, Bangkalan. The experiment was conducted in April 2015 using the descriptive method. The materials used include Solen sp and physico-chemical parameters of the environment (temperature, salinity, pH, and substrate). The analyzes were conducted at the Laboratory of Marine Science, Department of Marine Sciences, Trunojoyo University of Madura by using the tool grabsampler, sieveshaker, and pipetting with gravimetric method. The analysis shows the range of values of temperature between 29-300C, salinity between 31-32 ppt, pH were 7.9-8.0 and the type of substrate in the form of sandy mud, as well as the density of Solen sp from 8-10 individuals/m2. All measurement results indicate normal conditions and in accordance with the sea water quality standard for marine life, which can be a suitable habitat for the growth and development of Solen sp. This condition is thought to affect the density of Solen sp.Keywords: Bangkalan, density, distribution, Solen sp, substrate.ABSTRAKPotensi Solen sp perlu dikembangkan di pulau Madura, khususnya di Kabupaten Bangkalan. Pemanfaatan Solen sp mengalami peningkatan sehingga berpotensi overfishing. Untuk itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kepadatan Solen sp dan ekologinya di perairan desa Modung, Kecamatan Modung, Kabupaten Bangkalan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan April 2015 dengan metode deskriptif. Materi dan bahan yang digunakan diantaranya Solen sp dan parameter fisika-kimia lingkungan (suhu, salinitas, pH, dan substrat). Analisa dilakukan di Laboratorium Ilmu Kelautan, Program studi/Jurusan Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Trunojoyo Madura dengan menggunakan alat grabsampler, sieveshaker, dan pemipetan dengan metode gravimetri. Hasil analisa menunjukkan kisaran nilai suhu 29-300C, salinitas 31-32 ppt, pH 7.9-8.0, dan jenis substrat berupa lumpur berpasir, serta kepadatan Solen sp 8-10 individu/m2. Semua hasil pengukuran menunjukkan kondisi normal dan sesuai dengan baku mutu air laut untuk biota laut, sehingga dapat menjadi habitat yang cocok untuk tumbuh dan kembang Solen sp. Kondisi ini diduga mempengaruhi kepadatan Solen sp.   Kata kunci:  Bangkalan, distribusi, kepadatan, Solen sp, substrat.

Abstract

Sumber daya alam yang dimiliki Kecamatan Pinogu pada sektor pertanian sangat menarik untuk dikembangkan. Terutama pada komoditas Kopi Pinogu yang memiliki kekhasan sendiri dan telah mendapat status resmi sebagi produk unggulan daerah. Namun dalam proses pengembangan Kopi Pinogu, masih didapati beberapa masalah yang menjadi penghambat. Pengolahan kopi yang masih menggunakan peralatan sederhana menjadi permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh petani Kopi Pinogu saat ini. Selain itu dilihat dari proses perawatan pertanian di Pinogu yang belum maksimal, juga turut andil untuk menghambat proses pengembangan. Solusi yang ditawarkan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut antara lain dengan adanya pengenalan dan pelatihan teknologi tepat guna dalam pengolahan Kopi Pinogu. Selanjutnya untuk mendukung solusi pertama, dilaksanakan pemetaan diberbagai sektor untuk mencari akar masalah secara komperhensif. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat membantu menyelesaikan permasalahan yang teridentifikasi dari proses Pengembangan Kopi Pinogu.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitiani adalah untuk mengetahui respon perlakuan  Iodine Povidone terhadap kenampakan berahi kambing betina. Diharapkan dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan data penguat bagi pengembangan  metode  gertak berahi secara alamiah yang lebih ekonimis.  Metode penelitian adalah percobaan lapang. dengan 3 kelompok kambing  induksi berahi yaitu kontrol (P0), kambing dengan induksi  2.0 % Iodine povidone (P1) dan induksi 4.0 % Iodine povidone (P2). Masing-masing perlakuan diulang 5 kali. Variable diamati adalah kenampakan berahi berdasarkan  tanda-tanda visual,waktu terjadinya berahi, dan standing heat.  Untuk konfirmasi akurasi kenampakan berahi dilakukan analisa  kadar progesterone pada puncak berahi.  Hasil  menunjukkan  respon kenampakan berahi berdasarkan pada karakter 3 A dan kenampakan lendir vagina  perlakuan P1 dan P2 sekitar 80 % positif , namun jika dikonfirmasikan dengan uji penerimaaan terhadap pejantan maka hal ini tampak turun menjadi sekitar 60 %. Perlakuan kontrol dengan injeksi NaCl fisiologis menunjukkan hasil negatif pada semua kambing perlakuan. Uji kadar progesteron menunjukkan bahwa  kadar progesteron kurang dari 0.5 ng/ml. Disimpulkan, kenampakan berahi kambing perlakuan secara visual dan konfirmasi terhadap kadar progesteron 40 % kambing betina mengalami berahi. Disarankan perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih dalam  tentang profil hormon progesteron mulai dari  hari H-1 sampai dengan H+3 atau akhir kemunculan berahi. Kata Kunci:  Sinkronisasi berahi, iodine povidone, hormon, kambing.   UTILITY OF IODINE POVIDONE AS FEMALE GOAT  ESTRUS SYNCHRONIZATION  HORMONAL TREATMENT. ABSTRACT The aims of this research is to improve the  method on estrus onset quality  using stimulant hormonal  of Iodine Povidone on female  of goat.. This out put of ressarch is expected to be cheap and practice way for increasing estrus onset of goat  in small scale farms.The research was conducted using  experimental methods with 3 treatments: control (PO), injection 2 % of Iodine Povidone( P1) and. Injection 0f 4 % of Iodine Povidone intra uterine. Variables observed is estrus onset, base on visual observation, mounting and hormonal measurement of progesterone at. peak of estrus. The result showed that  estrus onset response occurred in about 80 % of female base on the visual character observed, decrease to be 60 % on standing heat observation and finally about 40 % after confirmed with progesterone level. It was concluded that Iodine povidone  induction showed good enough response in estrus onset. It was suggested that necessary to study the profile of progesterone for later research before and after treatment with Iodine povidone. Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the protein profile of pre-weaning kids fed with cow's milk as a substitute for dam’s milk. The materials used were 18 Etawah Descendant (PE) kids born the twin at the age of 5-13 days from 3-4-year-old dams. This experimental design was a completely randomized design with three treatments with six replications per treatment, namely the control (T0) fed 100% goat’s milk, treatment 1 (T1) fed 50% goat’s milk and 50% cow’s milk, treatment 2 (T2) fed 100% cow’s milk. The protein profile serum was analyzed by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) method, 12,5% of the resolving gel and 3% of the stacking gel were used. The protein profile of the 5-14 days old PE kids were 19 protein bands with the molecular weight ranging from 15-160 kDa. The kids fed with 100% goat milk (T0) and those substituted by 50% cow's milk (T1), it was produced 19 protein bands with molecular weights ranging from 15 kDa to 155 kDa, while those fed with 100 % cow's milk (T2), it was produced 17 protein bands with molecular weights ranging from 13 kDa to 160 kDa. It can be concluded that the dam's milk substitute using cow's milk at the 50% level does not affect the blood protein profile of goat kids, while the 100% substitute produces the different number and types of protein
