Abstract

This article aims to expose character education values of Gibran’s statements in his monumental work, The Prophet. The content analysis is used to analyze messages which consist on 26 poetries. From the ten values of character education are dominated by values of faith and takwa,  the values are found in Poetries of Children, Crime and Punishment, Pain, and Religion. Therefore, teaching literature not only how to teach the structure of  words and sentences, but the most urgent is to teach wisdom values, in this case values of character education as alternative consideration among nation character decance. The Holy Quran build character by stressing inner aspects, both mind and heart.

Abstract

The essential consideration is whether hermeneutics as an alternative approach can provide a dialogue between the texts and reality. This is library research, in which the data sources obtained through various written works, both in the form of books and journals. The study is descriptive qualitative that provides a clear picture and systematic about the methodology of Islamic legal thought Fazlur Rahman understandings.  To synchronize his background with interpretations, then used a normative theological approach, namely an approach that emphasizes form religious symbols originating from the Quran and sunnah text. The double movement hermeneutic theory is his effort in dialoguing between text and context. He appreciates history and adapts developments in every space and time. He tried to do a two-way movement. First, moving from the context of reality to the historical context of texts. Second, moving from the context of historical facts to the context of contemporary reality. Errors in interpreting text often occur due to the separation between the text from its context. In these circumstances, the double movement theory finds its relevance in making the Quran capable of dialogue with every dynamic that occurs. In this way, the text is always alive and as if it was revealed at this time. It contributes to the development of a paradigm of religious moderation. The double movement has strong historical roots in the science of the Quran, including asbab al-nuzul, makkiyah-madaniyah, and nasikh-mansukh.

Abstract

Using the sociological theory of literature, the researchers agreed to study Leo Tolstoy's novel Anna Karenina, which will bring on connections in the social arts. In a descriptive qualitative, the investigator uses note sheets as analysis methods to evaluate knowledge to illustrate how the tension of social significance and religious hegemony arise. After an overview of the results, Leo Tolstoy in Anna Karenina Novel concludes his research finding on the social conflict. The social role and religious hegemony were expected. A social role is also a pit for social participants in their unconsciousness, such that conflict becomes an inseparable aspect and obstacles between groups in the social order, and religious hegemony, which in human behavior is manifested as an important role in the social realm of humans, religious instruction. Religion is a reference to the social and moral life.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze environmental issues in Buginese elong-elong in terms of form and the  relationship between humans,  nature and God by using ecocritical theory. This research used qualitative approach to get an overview of integration with the interpretation of the Qur'an in Buginese elong-elong. This research used some instruments such as: documentation, questionnaire recording and guideline of focus group discussion (FGD). This research used content analysis technique with Miles and Hubberman theories in analyzing data. There are three steps in analyzing  data namely data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusion after verification. Furthermore, the researchers got that nature element is implicitly contained in Buginese elong-elong. Ecocentric and theocentric are most forms occurred as the relationship between humans and nature. Keywords: Ecocritic; Elong-elong; buginese; Mursery Rhyme ستخلص البحثتهدف هذه المقالة إلى تحليل القضايا البيئية فى الغناء البوغيسيي (elong-elong ugi) منن حيث العلاقة بين الإنسان والطبيعة والله باستخدام النظرية ekokritik ثم يتم استخدام نهج نوعي للحصول على صورة تكامل معرفة التفسير القرآني لبوجيس الغناء البوغيسي. أما الأدوات المستخدمة فتكون من الوثائق وتسجيل الاستبيان ومناقشة مجموعة التركيز التوجيهية (FGD). تحليل محتوى باستخدام تقنية Miles and Huberman المستخدمة في تحليل البيانات. هناك ثلاث مراحل لتحليل البيانات وهي تقليل البيانات ، عرض البيانات ، استنتاجات. تم  اتتحقق الباحث ان فيالغناء عناصر العلم موجودة في الغناء البوغسيي اشاريا .  ، الباحثان تجدان ان اكثر ما وجد فى العلاقة البشرية والطبيعية هي ايكوكريتق (ekosentris) و تبوسنتري (theosentris) . الكلمات الرءيسية :  الغناء البوغسي، ايكوكريتق-  ،  غناء مقدمة للنوم ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis isu-isu lingkungan pada elong-elong Bugis dalam hal wujud  dan hubungan antara manusia, alam dan Tuhan dengan menggunakan teori ekokritik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif untuk mendapatkan gambaran bentuk integrasi ilmu tafsir Al Qur’an dalam elong-elong Bugis. Penelitian ini menggunakan beberapa instrumen anatara lain: dokumentasi, pencatatan angket dan guideline focus group discussion (FGD). Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik Content Analysis dengan teori Miles dan Hubberman dalam analisis data. Ada tiga tahap analisis data yaitu: reduksi  data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan setelah diverifikasi. Selanjutnya, peneliti mendapatkan bahwa unsur alam terkandung secara tersirat dalam elong-elong Bugis. Ekosentris dan teosentris adalah bentuk yang paling banyak muncul terkait hubungan manusia dan alam.

Abstract

Ecofeminism is an understanding of the relationship between women and the universe that approaches issues of environmental degradation and social injustice from the premise that how we treat nature and how we treat each other are inseparable. This research discusses the character of a woman in the novel How Beautiful We Were which aims to find out the depiction of the struggle of African women in protecting their environment. This research uses the theory of ecofeminism from Greta Gaard and Murphy with descriptive qualitative research methods and note- taking as an instrument. This research was conducted to add and give awareness to readers about the importance of preserving and protecting the environment around us. The results found in this novel that the female character named Thula fulfills the three aspects of women's struggle in the theory of ecofeminism. The researcher concluded that in this novel, the most visible struggle of women leads to the community, so that the movement carried out by the main character is able to realize that it is important to fight for and protect our nature from the threat of companies that come to destroy it

Abstract

This research aims to compare the emotions depicted in the main character in the 1996 movie Matilda to the movie Matilda in 2022. This research investigates the emotional evolution that occurs from the movie Matilda 1996 to the movie Matilda 2022. This research is comparative diachronic research by Zepetnek theory and uses a character psychology approach in literary works. In obtaining data, this research was analyzed using Elizabeth B. Hurlok's theory of children's emotions and applying qualitative descriptive methods with notetaking as a research instrument. The results of this research show that there are types of emotions children get from the character Matilda: emotions of anger, joy or happiness, grief, curiosity, fear and affection. Therefore, the researchers concluded that the emotions that occur in the character Matilda from the 1996 movie Matilda to the movie Matilda 2022 show that Matilda 2022 is more aggressive, more expressive, and braver than the movie Matilda 1996. Overall, this research reveals evolution of emotions that are influenced by the author's mindset towards children's characters related to current developments.

Abstract

Pengambilan keuntungan melalui pembuatan lagu speed up yang diunggah di YouTube (monetisasi), memunculkan dua pertanyaan, pertama mengenai legalitas pembuatan lagu speed up dikategorikan kebebasan berekspresi atau pelanggaran hak cipta. Kedua, analisis lagu speed up berdasarkan doktrin fair use. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian yuridis empiris dengan melakukan observasi akun YouTube dan peraturan perundang-undangan dengan teknik analisis deskriptif. Pendekatan yang digunakan pada rumusan masalah adalah case approach dan conseptual approach. Sumber data primer dari wawancara pada 5 akun content creator YouTube. Sedangkan, data sekunder dari peraturan perundang-undangan serta didukung dengan buku dan jurnal-jurnal hukum yang relevan. Teknik pengambilan data dengan metode wawancara tidak terstruktur. Simpulannya adalah lagu speed up yang diunggah pada platform YouTube @Mong Fvnky || Jawa Pride, @indnetworks1 beserta akun keduanya @indnetworks2, @ahmd_alpa.r, @Arl, @It’s me oliv termasuk dalam pelanggaran hak cipta karena memenuhi identifikasi pelanggaran hak cipta berdasarkan Pasal 9 Undang-Undang Nomor 28 Tahun 2014. Namun, pengubahan lagu speed up dapat dikategorikan sebagai kebebasan berekspresi apabila memenuhi empat unsur fair use. Mayoritas dari kelima akun tersebut tidak memenuhi 4 unsur fair use kecuali dua akun, yaitu @Arl, @ahmd_alpa.r yang telah memenuhi unsur tidak komersial.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between names and African-American identity in Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man. Through a qualitative descriptive analysis, the study investigates how power relations influence the construction of African-American identity in the novel. This study used semiotic approach by applying Charles Sander Peirce’s semiotic theory in examiningg the use of name, as well as sociological approach by applying Michel Foucault's concept of power relations in analyzing power relation to social identity. The findings reveal that names, while significant, are not the sole determinants of African-American identity. The study discovers that, after the Civil War, many African-American characters in the novel chose names of European origin in an attempt to avoid negative racial stigma and discrimination. Instead, the study finds that identity construction is primarily shaped by social categorization and comparison and that power relations play a crucial role in limiting positive representations of African-American identity. This study sheds new light on the relationship between names, power, and African-American identity in literature and provides insights into the ongoing discourse surrounding these important cultural and social issues.

Abstract

This study is motivated by two things, namely Indonesia is the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, and the population of Indonesia has a high cultural diversity. This qualitative research applies a content analysis and semantic approach to analyze the texts and documents. Conceptually, proper education can shape character through the inculcation of religious values and local wisdom. At the same time, wise expressions in the Bugis advice are analyzed with a content analysis approach. The results of the analysis show two main points. First, character building starts from the human side. The Qur'an shows that character building must start from the inner dimension of the human being. It is indicated by the word 'anfus' in the Quran. Second, the central values of Bugis' local wisdom align with the universal values of the Quran, namely coaching that touches the inner dimension in the form of ideas, beliefs, and awareness of the importance of these noble values in attitudes and behavior. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh dua hal yaitu Indonesia sebagai negara dengan penduduk muslim terbesar di dunia, dan penduduk Indonesia yang memiliki keragaman budaya yang tinggi. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan pendekatan analisis isi dan semantik untuk menganalisis teks dan dokumen. Secara konseptual, pendidikan yang tepat dapat membentuk karakter melalui penanaman nilai-nilai agama dan kearifan lokal. Sementara itu, ungkapan bijak dalam petuah Bugis dianalisis dengan pendekatan analisis isi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan dua poin utama. Pertama, pembentukan karakter dimulai dari sisi kemanusiaan. Al-Qur'an menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan karakter harus dimulai dari dimensi batin manusia. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan kata 'anfus' dalam Al-Qur'an. Kedua, nilai-nilai sentral kearifan lokal Bugis selaras dengan nilai-nilai universal al-Qur'an, yaitu pembinaan yang menyentuh dimensi batin berupa gagasan, keyakinan, dan kesadaran akan pentingnya nilai-nilai luhur tersebut dalam sikap dan perilaku.

Abstract

This study examines the role of mother–child memory in shaping children’s intelligence as portrayed in the film Enola Holmes (2020). Grounded in Howard Gardner’s theory of Multiple Intelligences, the research highlights how maternal memories function as a foundation for cognitive, interpersonal, and intrapersonal development. Using a qualitative content analysis approach, selected scenes involving Enola Holmes and her mother, Eudoria, were analyzed through dialogue, flashbacks, and visual codes. The findings reveal that maternal memory is not merely nostalgic, but a narrative mechanism of intellectual and emotional inheritance. Cognitively, Enola’s recollections of logic training, puzzles, and cryptographic exercises enhance her critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Interpersonally, her memories of maternal advice to empathize and understand others guide her in building trust and collaboration. Intrapersonally, memories of maternal love and encouragement foster Enola’s resilience, autonomy, and self-awareness in resisting patriarchal constraints. This research contributes to literary and film studies by demonstrating how mother–child memory functions as a transgenerational medium of intelligence formation
