The results of identification and grouping, there are four types of architectural forms of pamesuan in Bongkasa Pertiwi Village. Each type has several differences such as the type, structure, material, appearance concept and dimensions. The results of the grouping are then analyzed based on theoretical studies to find change in from that have occured. Changes in form were found in the form of addition, elimination and movement of shapes and elements such as the addition of lighting elements, dimensions of the entrance. elimination of elements forming the tri angga concept, namely the roof (head). Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) was carried out by lecturers from the Faculty of Science and Technology, Ngurah Rai University with the aim of improving the infrastructure of Keraban Langit Temple through the planning of wall fences, retaining foundations, and parking areas. The methods used include field surveys, measurements, infrastructure design with AutoCAD. The results are in the form of technical designs that support the aesthetics of Balinese culture and improve the security and comfort of the temple. This program supports the preservation of local cultural heritage while strengthening academic and community collaboration. The results of this PkM are in the form of a design drawing of a wall fence with a length of 80.9 m and a height of 1.75 m, a plan for a retaining foundation with a length of 38 m and a height of 0.8 m, and a plan for installing paving in a parking area with an area of 213.5 m2. Thus, with PkM, accessibility, security, and comfort can be improved, with an aesthetic traditional Balinese fence design and a stable retaining foundation. This program not only supports the preservation of local culture but also creates a model of collaboration between academics and the community for the development of sustainable infrastructure.

Abstract

Westernisation in architectural education, in particular, has for a long time eroded indigenous people’s appreciation of building and design. This study reintroduces decolonization into architectural discourse by analyzing two key frameworks: Smith’s Decolonizing Methodologies and the decolonial theoretical framework by E. Tuck and Wayne Yang. In doing so, the work discusses whether these frameworks are useful in deconstructing and diversifying architectural practices against Eurocentric epistemologies. It shows that the colonial mindset in architectural design has not changed and this paper underscores the necessity of integrating Indigenous peoples’ knowledge for culturally appropriate and socially sustainable development. Co-authored by architecture students and professionals, this study maps out how decolonial architectural education and practice are possible. The research therefore is pleading for change in the wheels through the deconstruction of the dominant paradigm and an emancipation of the subordinate voices to perform an art of makeover on the existing architectural constructs.
