Abstract

Kata kunci: Perkembangan, pemanfaatan, karang bengang, desa pakraman, Tegallalang ABSTRACT Open spaces as part of a typical fit with local wisdom that grew in the area. Karang bengang as one of the open space concept in Bali, its existence is important given its function as a buffer. However, the understanding of this concept is not much known by the general public so as to give rise to various problems, such as a horizontal conflict between seedling desa pakraman and others. Apart from that, the present researchers also have differing opinions related understanding of karang bengang. Whether or not can be utilized? The results of the writing that is in spatial karang bengang located outside the traditional settlement, can be utilized when it functions not as a forest. Development of utilization of karang bengang before utilized up to now produce a pattern region i.e. a linear pattern, "the form of the mass of the building follows the road network". Role of desa pakraman utilization in karang bengang limited aspects of population, while the role of spatial basis has not been made. The method of research used the qualitative methods that belong to be analyzed are inductively. Method of collecting data through observation, interviews, literature studies and study instansional. Research location is located in Tegallalang Village in Gianyar. The benefits of this writing that is enriching the concept and theory of planning regions and can be a consideration against the problems of spatial between the desa pakraman in Bali. Abstract

PT. Jaya Graha Utama (PT. JGU) intends to rehabilitate the Crocodile Attack Railing Stage (CARS) at Bali Safari Marine Park (BSMP). Still, a reference has yet to be used to carry out this action. PT. JGU applied to the Faculty of Science and Technology, Ngurah Rai University (FST UNR) to conduct a structural studies and an FST UNR Community Service Team (CSFST) was formed with PT. JGU becomes a partner. CAFST activities are carried out using the Science and Technology Diffusion Method, from the survey stage to structural analysis. Concrete quality is determined by hammer test, reinforcement formation using the scanning rebar locator and structural analysis using SAP2000. The study's results recommend that the stage floor plate be replaced with a thickness of 10cm, the beam height dimensions be increased by 10cm to 15x40cm, 25x45cm, the addition of a 35cm diameter column at the base of the stage, and other columns remain. The study results and recommendations are compiled in books and files. The study results documents are very important in carrying out CARS rehabilitation measures at BSMP.

Abstract

Abstract

Traditional ecological knowledge and planting time management have led to agricultural success in Krayan. The Lundayeh community in Krayan determines planting time based on sun’s position as seen from a sign stone. The problem in this study is in what month do farming activities begin if determined based on sun’s position? This study aims to reconstruct the local knowledge of the Lundayeh community. Data collection was conducted by surveys, interviews, and measuring the azimuthal angle from the observation location to the position of the sun. To observe the position of the sun one has to stand on a marker stone and direct the view to the sunset location marker. At the Long Mutan marker stone, the sunset location markers are two hills, Tudal Wir and An Lam. When the sun sets over Tudal Wir Hill, the slash-and-burn process begins, which is around 11 May and 3 August. The activity of spreading seedlings will start when the sun sets over An Lam Hill, which is around 20 September.

Abstract

Westernisation in architectural education, in particular, has for a long time eroded indigenous people’s appreciation of building and design. This study reintroduces decolonization into architectural discourse by analyzing two key frameworks: Smith’s Decolonizing Methodologies and the decolonial theoretical framework by E. Tuck and Wayne Yang. In doing so, the work discusses whether these frameworks are useful in deconstructing and diversifying architectural practices against Eurocentric epistemologies. It shows that the colonial mindset in architectural design has not changed and this paper underscores the necessity of integrating Indigenous peoples’ knowledge for culturally appropriate and socially sustainable development. Co-authored by architecture students and professionals, this study maps out how decolonial architectural education and practice are possible. The research therefore is pleading for change in the wheels through the deconstruction of the dominant paradigm and an emancipation of the subordinate voices to perform an art of makeover on the existing architectural constructs.
