Abstract

The establishment of Buddhist Sunday Schools in Dharma Buddhist Vihara and 8 Pho Sat aims to increase the spiritual understanding and awareness of Buddhist children and adolescents. This activity is done through teaching about Buddhism, meditation practice, and good character development. In addition, this dedication also aims to strengthen the relationship between the community and the Dharma Buddhist Temple and 8 Pho Sat as a center of religious activities. The method used in this activity is to deliver material interactively and provide case examples that are relevant to everyday life. The results of this activity are expected to provide benefits for participants in terms of religious understanding and practice and strengthen the relationship between the community and their places of worship. Buddhist Sunday school formation activities at Dharma Buddhist monasteries and 8 Pho Sat are in accordance with the Buddhist Sunday school schedule. Based on this, the implementation of this activity was carried out on Sunday, December 20, 2020. The participants were 31 Sunday school children consisting of 5 kindergarten students, 18 elementary school students, 6 junior high school students, and 2 vocational students. Activities consist of lectures or material presentations by lecturers adjusted to the level of education, devotional worship and meditation practices, and simulations of cohesiveness or teamwork. The practical material presented, participants were very enthusiastic about following every instruction delivered. Participants perform devotional worship and meditation in this activity. Evaluation of this activity is carried out by direct observation and question and answer. Thus it can be concluded that practical activities, participants are able to follow and practice them well

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis makna Persembahan pada ritual Api Homa bagi umat Buddha Vihara Vajra Bumi Giri Putra Desa Segaralangu, Kecamatan Cipari, Kabupaten Cilacap dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Persembahan ritual Api Homa terbagi menjadi persembahan yang wajib dan persembahan pendukung. Makna persembahan dari ritual Api Homa diantaranya yang pertama untuk memperkokoh keyakinan terhadap Buddha Dharma, dengan kuatnya keyakinan terhadap ajaran Buddha mempunyai efek yang baik misalnya tidak mudah terpengaruh pindah agama, tidak terpengaruh untuk melakukan hal-hal yang buruk dan sebagainya. Kedua yaitu melatih diri, dengan menyiapkan persembahan-persembahan khususnya adalah mempersembahkan sesuatu yang ada, bertujuan melatih diri untuk tidak melekat, sehingga meminimalisir munculnya sifat-sifat kikir atau pelit. Ketiga adalah tolak bala, dengan mempersembahkan sesuatu yang dipunyai adalah memendam sifat kikir, hal ini merupakan bagian dari melatih diri untuk mengembangkan rasa peduli terhadap orang lain, sehingga segala rintangan dapat teratasi dengan baik. Keempat yaitu kebutuhan manusia adalah dalam hal keharmonisan. Kelima adalah dalam hal meningkatkan berkah, dan yang keenam adalah untuk penaklukan. sebagai seorang umat Buddha tentunya harus tekun melatih diri, konsentrasi, dan bermodalkan ketekunan, ketenangan.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the development of the times and advances in technology, to deal with these conditions, it is necessary to have good self-management. The purpose of this research is to find out how Self-Management in the Perspective of Buddhism. The research method used in this proposal is library research. The approach method in this scientific work uses text analysis and interpretation of the material text that will be used as a research source, namely in the form of primary sources and secondary sources. Primary sources consist of Buddhist scriptures, namely the Tripitaka, while secondary sources are taken from the opinions and writings of people who perceive self-management. Based on the literature review, it was found that self-management is very important to apply in everyday life. According to the teachings of Buddhism there are several suttas that discuss the importance of self-management, including namely; Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta, Parabhava Sutta, Cullaka Setthi Jataka, and Dhammapada Poem 103. As Buddhists, these suttas are our basis for implementing good self-management within ourselves

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah pentingnya pelestarian ajaran agama Buddha di desa Wonoharjo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan Peran Meditasi Center Pa Auk Tawya Vipassana Dhura Hermitage Beji dalam pelestarian ajaran agama Buddha di desa Wonoharjo.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data teknik non-tes, yaitu melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi disertai dengan pedoman wawancara di Pa Auk Tawya Vipassana Dhura Hermitage Beji pada Desember 2021 sampai Mei 2022. Objek penelitian ini terdiri dari guru meditasi, pengurus, peserta meditasi, dan umat sekitar. Teknik keabsahan data penelitian dilakukan dengan kredibilitas, transferabilitas, dependabilitas, konfirmabilitas. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa Pa Auk Tawya Vipassana Dhura Hermitage Beji memberikan peranan aktif dengan pelaksanaan program seperti retret meditasi, dhammatalk, pelatihan meditasi online maupun offline, Dhammayatra, Pindapatta, webinar tentang meditasi dan program lainnya yang bertujuan untuk pelestarian ajaran agama Buddha. Melalui program yang dilaksanakan masyarakat dapat meningkatkan Saddha (keyakinan) terhadap Buddha Dhamma dan menyadari tentang pentingnya melaksanakan meditasi. Pembangunan Pa Auk Tawya Vipassana Dhura Hermitage Beji yang menjadi salah satu pusat untuk belajar meditasi dan Buddha Dhamma memberikan dampak terhadap pelestarian ajaran agama Buddha. Dampak jangka panjang dari hal tersebut juga agama Buddha akan terus lestari hingga ke generasi mendatang.Dari hasil penelitian ini saran ditujukan kepada pengurus Pa Tawya Vipassana Dhura Hermitage Beji dapat menambahkan jadwal meditasi dalam bentuk cetak dan menambahkan buku yang berkaitan dengan Buddha Dhamma, umat sekitar dapat memanfaatkan pusat meditasi untuk berlatih meditasi, penyuluh dapat dijadikan bahan penyampaian kepada masyarakat, STABN Sriwijaya dapat dijadikan bahan pengajaran, dan lembaga pemerintahan dapat dijadikan wawasan atau pedoman dalam membuat program untuk masyarakat umum mengenai manfaat dari melaksanakan meditasi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi dalam mengimplementasikan trilogi kepenyuluhan, penyuluh agama Buddha di Provinsi Banten. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan eksploratif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah penyuluh agama Buddha yang terdata dan umat Buddha di Provinsi Banten. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui tiga cara, yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari empat komponen, yaitu pengumpulan data, kondensasi data, penyajian data, serta pengujian kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa implementasi trilogi kepenyuluhan sudah berjalan dengan baik dengan adanya bentuk kegiatan dari setiap fungsinya. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi dalam mengimplementasikan trilogi kepenyuluhan dilakukan penyuluh agama Buddha dengan menggunakan berbagai media berbasis teknologi, seperti Power Point (PPT), media sosial, dan Zoom Meeting. Manfaat yang diperoleh dari penggunaan TIK dalam mengimplementasikan trilogi oleh penyuluh agama Buddha mencakup beberapa hal, yakni meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, mempermudah penyebaran informasi dan administrasi, mengetahui permasalahan awal, serta menjadi bahan referensi.

Abstract

Every religion needs students who are loyal, caring, and have a soul to spread the teachings of their religion, and have good competence to carry out their duties. Efforts to spread religion are known as da'wah. Each religion has its own understanding of dharmaduta. In Buddhism, the propagator of the religion is called Dharmaduta. Compared to other followers of religion, Buddhists are known to be less aggressive in spreading their religious teachings. The method used by the authors in this research is the literature review research method, which means the researcher examines from various books as a research source. The method used is the interpretation of texts in the Tripitaka holy book and various studies. To carry out the duties of Dharmaduta, appropriate competencies are needed so that the teachings can be conveyed properly and can be well understood by the recipients of the teachings. The efforts of the Buddhist dharmaduta will benefit both the teacher and the recipient of the teachings. Dharmaduta is obliged to change the new paradigm in the spread of Buddhism, which was originally oriented towards suffering to become an approach to happiness. This conclusion is in line with the nature of Buddha's existence in this universe which teaches all human beings how to eliminate suffering to achieve happiness.

Abstract

Kegiatan PkM ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kesadaran menjaga protokol kesehatan di masa pandemi covid-19 dan bagaimanakah meningkatkan kesadaran menjaga kesehatan di masa pandemi covid 19 bagi umat Buddha vihara Windu Paramita kecamatan Parung Panjang Kabupaten Bogor. Tujuan kegiatan PkM untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran menjaga kesehatan di masa pandemi covid-19 serta meningkatkan keterampilan bercocok tanam bahan dasar jamu tradisional secara organik. Kerangka pemecahan masalah dengan melakukan analisis situasi dan kebutuhan, sosialisasi kegiatan pelatihan, menetapkan jumlah peserta pelatihan, mengumpulkan peserta, dan memberikan materi penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Metode kegiatan tahap persiapan, yaitu melakukan analisis situasi, menetapkan dan melakukan komunikasi yang intensif dengan pengurus vihara, dan penyusunan materi. Tahap pelaksanaan PkM dilakukan selabanyak 4 kali pertemuan meliputi penjelasan teori, praktikum, dan FGD. Tahap monitoring pasca kegiatan adalah melalui WhatsApp Group berdasarkan dokumentasi kegiatan yang dikirimkan oleh peserta atau pengurus vihara. Metode pelatihan dengan ceramah, tanya jawab, pembelajaran kooperatif, simulasi, dan praktik. Khalayak dan sasaran kegiatan adalah umat Buddha di Vihara Windu Paramita dan sekitarnya. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah lebih dari 60% peserta mampu memahami dan menerapkan protokol kesehatan sebagai wujud kesadaran menjaga kesehatan diri masa pandemi covid-19 dan lebih dari 70% peserta mampu membuat sistem tanam organik dengan jenis tanaman obat keluarga sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan jamu tradisional. Hasil evaluasi pelaksanaan PkM dari aspek materi, penyelenggaraan, sarana prasarana, dan narasumber masuk dalam kategori puas dan sangat puas. Harapan peserta adalah dilaksanakan PkM secara berkelanjutan mengolah hasil bertanam  organik bahan dasar jamu tradisional. This PKM activity was motivated by the low awareness of maintaining health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic and how to increase awareness of maintaining health during the COVID-19 pandemic for Buddhists at Wihara Windu Paramita, Parung Panjang District, Bogor Regency. . The purpose of this PkM activity is to increase understanding and awareness of maintaining health during the COVID-19 pandemic and to improve skills in growing traditional herbal ingredients organically. Problem solving framework by analyzing situations and needs, socializing training activities, determining the number of trainees, gathering participants, and providing counseling and training materials. The method of activity in the preparation stage is analyzing the situation, establishing and conducting intensive communication with the temple manager, and compiling materials. The PkM implementation phase was carried out for 4 meetings covering theory explanations, practicums, and FGDs. Post-activity monitoring stage through WhatsApp Groups based on activity documentation sent by participants or temple administrators. The training methods are lecture, question and answer, cooperative learning, simulation, and practice. The target audience and activities are Buddhists at Vihara Windu Paramita and its surroundings. As a result of this activity, more than 60% of participants were able to understand and apply health protocols as a form of awareness to maintain personal health during the COVID-19 pandemic and more than 70% of participants were able to do organic cultivation. system with family medicinal plants as the basic ingredients for making traditional herbal medicine. The results of the evaluation of the PkM implementation from the aspects of material, implementation, infrastructure, and resource persons are in the satisfied and very satisfied categories. Participants hope that PkM is carried out in a sustainable manner to process organic agricultural products with traditional herbal ingredients.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of religious moderation in Buddhist Sunday school education at the Vajra Bumi Giri Putra Vihara, so this research focuses on the implementation and understanding of religious moderation carried out by Buddhists at the Vajra Bumi Giri Putra Vihara, especially Buddhist Sunday School students. This research uses a method with a qualitative descriptive approach. This method produces findings obtained through data collected using several means, such as interviews, observations and documentation. Buddhist religious education includes various aspects of Buddhist teachings such as Dhamma (universal law), Sila (morality), and Bhavana (meditation). Buddhist religious education also aims to promote values in accordance with Buddhist teachings such as love, compassion, wisdom, example and peace. Religious education is one of the most effective ways of promoting religious moderation. Through proper and in-depth religious education, individuals can understand religious teachings correctly and practice them in the right way.
