Abstract

ABSTRAK Chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is one of the horticultural commodities which is classified as a vegetable and is most widely cultivated in Indonesia. In addition, chilies contain minerals such as iron, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and niacin. Tricho-compost is a fertilizer derived from organic materials containing the antagonistic fungi Trichoderma sp. Tricho-compost as fertilizer is able to provide nutrients in the soil for plants. Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) is a group of soil microorganisms that live and develop well in soils that are rich in organic matter and which are beneficial because they can spur plant growth and production. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of Tricho-compost and PGPR (Plant growth promotion rhizobactery) biological agents on the vegetative growth of chili plants. This research was conducted at the green house of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sam Ratulangi University (UNSRAT) Manado. The study lasted for 3 months using RAK (randomized block design) with 4 treatments, namely Control (NPK), Tricho-compost, PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) and Tricho-compost added with PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria). Observation of growth parameters in the form of plant height, number of leaves, number of branches and stem diameter. Growth is carried out every week and starts at 2 week after transplanting until the plants are 2 months old. The results showed that the application of Tricho-compost and PGPR treatments given together gave the largest number of branches, number of leaves and stem diameter, while the parameters of height the largest plants were produced in the Tricho-compost treatment, although sta

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of the research was to studied the application of gliricidia MOL on the growth and yield of lowland rice in the salibu method, and to get the best concentration of gliricidia liquid organic fertilizer  (POC) on the growth and production of lowland rice. Field research has been conducted in Tababo Village, Subdistrict of Belang, district of Southeast Minahasa. The treatment in the experiment consists of one treatment factor, that were concentrations of gliricidia POC, ie  : 0, 50 , 100, 150, and 200 ml/litre. The results showed that gliricidia POC  have an effect on plant height, the number of  grain/panicle, and the dry grain yield (GKP) / plot, but not affect the number of productive tillers and weight of 1,000 grain. The best results were achieved in gliricidia POC concentration 200 ml/litre  with the highest values were: plant height was 98.93 cm; 116.420 grain/panicle; and 8.300 kg dry grain yield or equivalent to 6.92 ton/ha.Keywords : gliricidia POC, production, lowland rice,  salibu method

Abstract

Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is a major horticultural crop and a key carbohydrate source after rice, maize, and wheat. Its high economic value and suitability for highland cultivation make it an important commodity for food security. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of NPK fertilization frequency on the growth and yield of the Superjohn potato variety. The experiment was conducted at the Experimental Farm of Sam Ratulangi University, Manado, from March to June 2025, using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four treatment frequencies: twice, three times, four times, and five times. Each treatment received a total of 15 grams of NPK per plant, applied via watering (kocor) in divided doses. Observed variables included plant height, leaf number, branch number, tuber weight, tuber count, and tuber size classes (SS, S, M, and L). Results showed that fertilization frequency had no statistically significant effect on any of the growth or yield parameters. However, the five-time application treatment (P4) consistently yielded the highest average values numerically across most variables. High rainfall during the study period was suspected to cause nutrient leaching, particularly nitrogen, and waterlogged soil conditions that inhibited root respiration and nutrient uptake.
