Abstract

The agricultural sector in Indonesia is a superior sector compared to other sectors. The red onion commodity in Indonesia has the highest household consumption rate. Nowadays, technological developments are widely used to support existing agriculture to get maximum results. One of the technologies that can be used in agriculture is blockchain. The application of blockchain has gained importance in information systems and information technology research in the agricultural sector. However, in Indonesia, precisely in Central Java, there is no red onion supply chain management that uses blockchain technology for data storage, data security and data transparency. The author has a goal to re-engineer to overcome these problems by implementing blockchain technology using the Hyperledger Fabric and modeling business processes with Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN). This research uses the Business Process Re-Engineering Life Cycle method in which this research produces red onion supply chain management with a new business process that is described by Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) and produces blockchain applications with various features and testing has been carried out using the Black box testing method with the result that existing features can run well without problems and the web application is running according to user needs to support supply chain management deficiencies so that they become more optimal and transparent in data storage.

Abstract

Red Onions are a horticultural commodity belonging to the spice vegetable group and an important role for economy of the Indonesian people. In red onion farming there have a problem of price fluctuations which result in an uneven and less transparent distribution of red onions yields, thus affecting both consumers and producers. To answer these problems, we designed a system to maintain and store red onion harvest data for farmers, collectors, distributors, and retailers in the form of a blockchain-based supply chain system. This system can maintain the validity of transactions in the supply chain of red onion farming with a private blockchain with Hyperledger Fabric. Then the data on the blockchain system will be displayed through the Hyperledger Explorer website. This system already passed the Black Box Testing system. From the research and testing of the system that has been made, this system can help the red onion farming to maintain the validity of transactions in the supply chain management.

Abstract

In the digital era, digital marketing has become the main strategy for MSMEs to increase competitiveness. This study analyzes the influence of digital marketing, product innovation, and market orientation on MSME marketing performance. The method used is a literature review of various previous studies to identify the relationship between variables. The results of the study indicate that digital marketing expands market reach and increases promotion effectiveness, but its effectiveness depends on product innovation and marketing strategy. Product innovation increases competitiveness, while market orientation helps understand customer needs. This study highlights the need for integration of these three factors to optimize MSME marketing performance and provide insights for business actors and academics.

Abstract

The diversity of characteristics among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) often poses a challenge for effective policy formulation, where a one-size-fits-all approach fails to distinguish the specific needs of each business. This study aims to overcome the limitations of administrative segmentation by applying a new behavior-based framework, namely LSE (Longevity, Scale, Employment), to characterize the typology of MSMEs in the city of Semarang. The research method adapts the principles of Recency, Frequency, Monetary (RFM) into business metrics: Longevity (resilience), Scale (maturity), and Employment (socio-economic impact). Using data sourced from the Semarang City Cooperative and MSME Office, this study analyzed 8,804 valid MSME data points through a K-Means Clustering algorithm optimized with the Elbow Method. The results identified three distinct clusters: Sustainable Businesses, Accelerative Businesses, and Stagnant Micro Businesses. These findings validate the effectiveness of the LSE model in mapping business heterogeneity and recommend a paradigm shift in policy towards targeted and relevant interventions for each segment.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of entrepreneurial orientation, digital marketing orientation, and innovation orientation on competitive advantage and marketing performance in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Central Java, Indonesia. Using the SEM-PLS method, data were collected from MSME owners who have adopted digital marketing. The results show that entrepreneurial orientation and digital marketing orientation enhance competitive advantage, which in turn positively impacts marketing performance. However, innovation orientation, although positively contributing to competitive advantage, does not have a significant direct effect on marketing performance. Competitive advantage plays an important role as a mediator between strategic orientation and marketing performance. These findings enrich the strategic management literature by clarifying the still inconsistent role of innovation orientation in MSME performance. Practically, this study recommends that MSME owners and policymakers prioritize entrepreneurial activities and digital strategies to enhance competitiveness and marketing success in a dynamic business environment.

Abstract

This study examines the roles of collaboration and innovation in developing digital business ecosystems. It employs a narrative literature review of core scholarship on business ecosystems, digital platforms, and collaboration–innovation practices in both global and Indonesian contexts. The synthesis indicates that digital business ecosystems constitute multilateral interdependence structures that require alignment of roles and activities across actors to realize a shared value proposition. Collaboration therefore becomes a structural necessity, as ecosystem innovation is modular and complementary, and value emerges only when contributions from diverse parties are coherently integrated. Digital platforms accelerate ecosystem growth through generativity and network effects, yet they also demand collaborative governance to keep collective innovation coordinated and goal-oriented. Empirical evidence further shows that collaboration facilitated by platforms, hubs, or intermediaries speeds up the exchange of data, knowledge, and resources, triggering technological, service, governance, and business-model innovations that enhance ecosystem performance and sustainability. However, many ecosystems still face limitations in the depth of collaboration—often not progressing to co-production or joint R&D—resulting in suboptimal collective innovation. This study enriches digital ecosystem theory and offers practical implications for orchestrating collaboration and sustaining innovation in digital business ecosystems.
