Abstract

Sulawesi Island is one of the Indonesian islands located at the meeting of three large plates. Sulawesi Island consists of four arms of the North Sulawesi arm, the East Sulawesi arm, the South East Sulawesi arm and the South arm. Buol depression is a a product of tectonic activity in North Sulawesi's arms. This tectonic activity is able to reactivate the inactivity faulting. The faults in this area are expressed by the geomorphological conditions of Buol watershed.Therefore, an approach to identify tectonic activity in the research area through quantitative analysis (morphometry) is required. The research sites are located in Buol watershed, Buol Regency, Central Sulawesi Province.Morphometric analysis used to identify Index of active tectonics (IAT) with six parameters, Stream Lenght Gradient Index (SL), Drainage Basin Asymmetry (AF), Hypsometric Integral (HI), Ratio of Valley Floor Width to Valley Height (Vf), Drainage Basin Indice (Bs) and Mountain-Front Sinuosity (Smf). Based on the plotting results of the cross-elevation of Buol watershed, the hipsometric curve of 17 sub watershed in Buol watershed shows the mature stage curve pattern.Based on the parameters of Index of active tectonics (IAT) , it can be concluded that 17 sub watershed of the Buol watershed has a of moderate and low tectonic activity which may still be affected by active fault in the research area.

Abstract

Kajian memperoleh gambaran umum kondisi Gunung Colo dengan mengunakan pengindraan jauh, diantaranya dengan menggunakan analisis citra DEM yang menunjukkan kenampakan lokasi penelitian secara 3 dimensi disertai dengan elevasinya, selain itu pula, dengan cara menarik kemungkinan pola kelurusan yang ada sebanyak mungkin, untuk mengetahui arah gaya pembentukan kelurusan akan mempermudah interpretasi struktur geologi Lokasi Pulau Una-Una di tengah Lengan Sulawesi, Teluk Tomini dan keterdapatan dari Gunung Colo yang merupakan gunungapi soliter karena posisi Gunung Colo di luar dari rangkaian Jalur Gunungapi Indonesia. Kenampakan panas bumi merupakan rembesan solfatara/fumarola terdapat di puncak Gunung Colo. Bentuk morfologi, kawahnya terbuka ke arah timurlaut, letaknya hampir di tengah pulau, dengan lingkaran utara-selatan sepanjang 1.350 m dan timur - barat sepanjang 1.750 m. Informasi dari kegiatan ini terkait gunung colo yang relevan dengan kondisi geologi daerah gunungapi colo bagi berbagai pihak yang ingin mengkaji daerah tersebut. Dari penelitian ini juga diharapkan dapat diperoleh bahan referensi yang aktual melaui studi kasus bagi pembelajaran matakuliah geologi terkait geomorfologi, vulkanologi dan geotermal serta bencana geologi.

Abstract

Kabupaten Sigi merupakan salah satu kabupaten yang terletak di Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah. Kabupaten ini termasuk ke dalam Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Palu dan memiliki beberapa Sub DAS. Pengelolaan DAS dilakukan melalui pendekatan studi morfotektonik. Penelitian lebih detail mengenai daerah Sub DAS Paima, Sub DAS Pewana dan Sub DAS Saluri bertujuan untuk mengetahui zonasi tingkat aktivitas tektonik dengan analisis morfologi dan morfotektonik. Hasil penelitian analisis morfologi daerah penelitian menggambarkan dataran, perbukitan dan perbukitan tinggi, lembah berbentuk U dan V, dan kenampakan morfologi tersebut telah mengalami proses aktivitas tektonik. Hasil analisis morfotektonik di daerah penelitian dengan menggunakan 6 parameter yaitu 1) (Hc) menunjukkan bentuk lahan stadium menengah, sedangkan nilai (HI) daerah penelitian adalah 0,486 – 0,490 mengindikasikan tingkat tektonik kelas 2; 2) nilai BS berkisar 1,33 – 3,18 mengindikasikan tingkat tektonik kelas 2 dan kelas 3; 3) Nilai Smf berkisar antara 1,53 – 2,10 mengindikasikan tingkat tektonik kelas 3; 4) Nilai Vf Ratio berkisar 0,28 – 0,79 mengindikasikan tingkat tektonik kelas 1 dan kelas 2; 5) Nilai AF berkisar 47,66 – 76,34 mengindikasikan tingkat tektonik kelas 1, 2 dan 3; 6) Nilai SL berkisar 222 – 807,16 mengindikasikan tingkat tektonik kelas 1, kelas 2 dan kelas 3. Hasil perhitungan dari Indeks Aktivitas Tektonik (IAT) dihasilkan dibagian utara dan tengah lokasi penelitian kelas aktivitas tektonik tinggi dan bagian selatan merupakan aktivitas tektonik sedang.

Abstract

The Buol watershed is located on the northern arm of Sulawesi Island. Geomorphology in this region is controlled by developing faults. Geomorphological analysis is done to obtain objective results. Geomorphological variables can explain significantly the geomorphic process itself. The studio, field and laboratory methods is used in this research. Studio analysis consists of topographical map, satellite imagery, Ratio of valley Floor Width to Valley Height (Vf), Mountain Front Sinuosity (Smf), Drainage density (Dd), and Bifurcation Ratio (Rb) analysis. Also, statistical test is used to determine the relationship between these variables. Research area in watershed Buol has landform, namely lowland, low hills, hills, and high hill. Drainage pattern that developed namely anastomotic, sub-dentritic, sub-parallel, trellis, and sub-trellis drainage pattern. The results of the watershed morphometry analysis show calculation of the average value of Rb is 1.48 to 6.24, value of Dd average from 1.17 to 2.45., Smf value ranged from 1.6 to 1.76 and Vf ratio range from 0.5 to 1. That phenomenon shows that the Buol watershed is controlled by tectonic.

Abstract

ABSTRAKDaerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Buol terletak di lengan utara Pulau Sulawesi. Bentuk DAS yang menyerupai angka 7 cenderung berbentuk paralel, menandakan ada dua sungai besar yang menyatu di wilayah hilir. Bagian hilir tampak lebar, seolah membentuk bejana besar yang dapat menyebabkan aliran S. Buol tergenang dalam jangka waktu lama. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar peran morfometri DAS terhadap fenomena banjir di wilayah tersebut. Beragam metode digunakan untuk ekstraksi data dari Citra Landsat, SRTM, peta topografi dan peta tematik yang dilakukan di studio. Deskripsi dan pengukuran obyek dilakukan di lapangan. Analisis data menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif-deskriptif menghasilkan visualisasi dalam bentuk grafik, peta dan tabel. Analisis dilakukan terhadap 17 sub-DAS Buol. Luas sub DAS berkisar dari 2,82 sampai 335,4 km2.. Secara umum DAS Buol menunjukkan bentuk lahan pedataran dan perbukitan. Pola pengaliran di DAS Buol yakni subtrellis, subdendritik, subrektangular dan anastomotik. Morfometri berperan terhadap zona bencana geologi di dataran banjir di Timur dan Timur laut DAS Buol mencakup sebagian wilayah Kecamatan Bukal, Kecamatan Momunu dan Kecamatan Biau. Pada SDB6 bentuk DAS adalah bulu burung serta SDB7 dan SDB8 memiliki bentuk DAS radial. Nilai kerapatan pengaliran (Dd) yaitu SDB6 (1,98), SDB7 (2,44), SDBS8 (1,30), SDB6 (1,98), SDB7 (2,44) dan SDBS8 (1,30). Bila nilai Dd berkisar antara 0,25 – 10, maka alur sungai melewati batuan dengan resistensi keras sehingga sedimen yang terangkut aliran sungai relatif lebih kecil. Berdasarkan hasil rekapitulasi, debit banjir dapat diperkirakan hingga 100 tahun.Kata Kunci : DAS Buol, Morfometri, Pola Pengaliran, BanjirABSTRACTThe Buol watershed is located in the northern arm of Sulawesi Island. A watershed shape that resembles the number 7 tends to be parallel, indicating there are two major rivers that converge in the downstream region. The downstream section is wide, forming a large vessel that can cause the flow of S. Buol to be inundated for a long time. This research was conducted to find out how far the role of watershed morphometric on flood phenomena in the region. Various methods are used for data extraction from Landsat Imagery, SRTM, topographic maps and thematic maps conducted in the studio. Description and measurement of the object is done in the field. Data analysis using quantitative-descriptive approach produces visualization in the form of graph, map and table. The analysis was conducted on 17 Buol sub-watersheds. The area of the sub-watershed ranges from 2.82 to 335.4 sq.km. In general, the Buol watershed shows the shape of the plains and hills. The drainage pattern are subtrellis, subdendritic, subrectangular and the anastomotic. The morphometric relationship to the geological disaster zone in the flood plains of East and Northeast Buol watershed in some areas covers Bukal Subdistrict, Momunu Subdistrict and Biau Subdistrict. SDB6 sub-watershed forms like bird feathers, while SDB7 and SDB8 are radial. The drainage density (Dd) are SDB6 (1.98), SDB7 (2.44), SDBS8 (1.30), SDB6 (1.98), SDB7 (2.44) and SDBS8 (1.30). If the Dd value ranges from 0.25 - 10, the river channel passes through rocks with hard resistance so that the sediment transported by the river flow is relatively smaller. Based on the recapitulation results, flood discharge can be estimated up to 100 years.Key word : Buol watershed, Morphometric, Drainage pattern, Flood

Abstract

The research area is part of the Watershed Buol. Administratively, it is included in the  Tiloan District, Buol Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. The parameters used in the study include drainage patterns, watershed morphometric, morphotectonic, and geological structure. Parameters such as a reference to explain the tectonic activity in the area of research. Variables analyzed includes bifurcation ratio (Rb), drainage density (Dd), mount-front sinuosity (Smf), and the ratio of the wall and the bottom of the valley (Vf ratio). Quantitative descriptive approach used in the data analysis. The results showed that the average value of Rb is 2.14 with Dd ranges from 0.25 to 10. That phenomenon shows that the study area is controlled by tectonic based on morphometric analysis of the watershed. Smf values ranged from 1.1 to 1.6, while the Vf ratio ranges from 0.3 to 3.8. The results of the comparative test against morphometric-morphotectonic variables in the region composed of Quaternary and Tertiary rocks, showed a significant difference.Key words: Buol watershed, watershed morphometry, morphotectonic, and tectonic activity Daerah penelitian merupakan sebagian dari Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Buol. Secara administratif termasuk dalam Kecamatan Tiloan, Kabupaten Buol, Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah. Parameter yang digunakan dalam penelitian diantaranya adalah pola pengaliran, morfometri DAS, morfotektonik, dan struktur geologi. Parameter tersebut menjadi acuan untuk menjelaskan aktivitas tektonik di daerah penelitian. Variabel yang dianalisis meliputi rasio cabang sungai (Rb), kerapatan pengaliran (Dd), sinusitas muka gunung (Smf), dan rasio dinding dan dasar lembah (Vf ratio). Pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif digunakan dalam analisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai Rb rata-rata 2,14 dengan Dd berkisar dari 0,25 hingga 10. Fenomena tersebut menunjukkan bahwa daerah penelitian dikontrol oleh tektonik berdasarkan analisis morfometri DAS. Nilai Smf berkisar  1,1 – 1,6, sementara itu Vf ratio berkisar 0,3 – 3,8. Hasil uji komparatif terhadap variabel morfometri dan morfotektonik DAS di wilayah yang tersusun oleh batuan berumur Kwarter dan Tersier, menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan. Hal ini dapat diinterpretasikan bahwa tektonik pada Kuarter dan Tersier menghasilkan pola yang berbeda.Kata Kunci: DAS Buol, Morfometri DAS, Morfotektonik dan Aktivitas Tektonik.

Abstract

Introduction: The Patukuki area in the Central Peling sub-district falls administratively within the geographical coordinates of 123°01'00" – 123°01'3" longitude and 01°24'00" – 01°27'00" latitude. Method: Channel Sinuosity (S) measures river influence on landscapes by comparing actual river length to valley length. Mountain-front sinuosity (Smf) evaluates mountain-front curvature using base and straight-line lengths. The Valley Floor Width to Width-to-height ratio (Vf) identifies regions of rapid uplift, with lower values indicating higher activity. The Asymmetric Factor (AF) detects tectonic tilting in drainage basins by comparing the area of the right-hand side sub-basin to the total area. Results and Discussion: Based on the analysis conducted, the findings are as follows: Channel Sinuosity analysis shows that sub-bases 1, 2, and 3 have high tectonic activity, while sub-base 5 has moderate activity, and sub-base 3 is low. Stream Morphology Frequency (Smf) analysis shows moderate tectonic activity in sub-bases 1, 3, 4, and 5, and sub-base 2 with an average Smf value of more than 1.5. Valley floor width to height ratio (Vf) shows low tectonic activity in all sub-bases. Anisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility (AF) shows that sub-bases 1 and 5 have high tectonic activity, sub-bases 3 and 4 are moderate, and sub-base 3 is low. The IATR values of sub-bases 1, 4, and 5 are between 1.5 and less than 2, while sub-bases 2 and 3 show moderate tectonic activity with IATR values between 2 and less than 2.5.Conclusion: In summary, tectonic activity in the Patukuki watershed ranges from moderate to high based on the various analyzed indices.
