Abstract

The window as the opening of natural lighting is more critical to conserve building energy, but if the size opening is too broad will increase the solar heat into the room. Over of heat, will also cause discomfort in the place because the value of OTTV (overall thermal transfer value) will also increase. The purpose of this study is to identify components, calculate the OTTV value and the analysis of shadow of the sun into the room. In the meeting room of the UPGRIS post-graduate building, there is too many windows that make the room glare and hot. It is felt to affect inefficient artificial energy (Air Conditioning). The method used is a type of quantitative research with an experimental approach. The results of the OTTV study in this room is 52.33 watts/m2, and this is exceeded from SNI (35 watts/m2). This research redesign of windows and shading to comply with maximum standard.

Abstract

Pondokrejo Joglo Village is a traditional Javanese settlement with many joglo houses that are preserved both in terms of physical and socio-cultural aspects. This research was conducted to find a typology of roof shapes and house plans in Pondokrejo Village, Rembang. This research uses a descriptive method, with qualitative-descriptive analysis, and a typological approach through data collection in the field. This typology categorizes types based on the similarity of roof shapes and floor plan configurations used in each house. The results show that there are several types of house forms, namely Joglo, Wedhok (Bekuk Lulang), Paris (Limasan), and Sinom. The Tajug form is only used for mosques, and the Panggang Pe form is only for warehouses, bathrooms, stalls, huts, and others. The plan configuration varies from one building to three buildings. There is one similarity between the buildings, which is that the Joglo house is always at the front, however, there is an exception for the Sinom house, which is an embodiment of the 'pacekan Joglo' that functions as a pendopo-like building in the Javanese house concept. The "sinom" and "wedhok" house forms are building forms that already have a "soko guru" that can later be upgraded or transformed into a joglo.

Abstract

Abstract

Banyubiru is one of the sub-districts in Semarang Regency which is located on the slopes of Mount Telomoyo. Traditional houses in this area especially in Sepakung village and its surroundings, are javanese houses with distinctive characteristics that are different from Javanese houses in other areas, namely a single mass with two or three roof forms extending to back. Inside the house there are still four sakaguru pillars under the main roof. This study aims to reveal the shape of the houses in Sepakung village and its surroundings. We will look at the spatial pattern of the house, to study the extent to which the Javanese house layout pattern is still being applied or not. The method used is descriptive-analytical, which is looking at existing phenomena and then analyzing them by comparing them with the original Javanese house layout. From the observations made, the shape of the traditional house around the village of Sepakung still shows a relationship with the form of a traditional Javanese house (joglo), only the shape is simplified into one mass. The spatial pattern itself shows differences from the original Javanese house layout due to its simplification, such as the phenomenon of senthong Tengah desacralization, positional shift and addition of senthong/bedroom as needed. Despite these differences, there are still characteristics of Javanese spatial planning that are still maintained, namely the construction of the saka guru with its rong-rongan.
