Abstract

This community service was held with the intention to empower teachers of SD N Manyaran 01 Semarang through English languange training. This service is in the form of training that aims to equip teachers at SD N Manyaran 01 Semarang to be able to have the skills to speak, communicate in English properly and correctly, and this training is intended for all teachers, both English teachers and teachers of other fields of study. Based on observations, participants’English skills vary, some already know how to speak using English, but some do not understand applying the right vocabulary in communicating. This training is carried out in a structured manner within a period of 2 months. Based on the implementation of the training and evaluation of the results, the author concludes that the grammar understanding of SD N Manyaran 01 teachers has increased quite significantly. One of the focuses of the material in this training is the learning of grammar and vocabulary in an integrated manner into speaking activities. The trainees were able to understand grammar more easily and applicatively, so that the English speaking skills of SD N Manyaran 01 Semarang teachers improved significantyly. Participants were more motivated to activity use expressions in English in the school environment. In addition, the confidence and accuracy of the participants’ English vocabulary pronunciation also increased significantly

Abstract

The simple and cheap yet attractive and innovative learning media can be created from various objects around us including waste fabric scraps. Creativity can make useless waste fabric scraps into products that are useful for learning. The purposes of this community service activity (PkM) is to provide training and assistance to teachers of SDN Petompon 01 Semarang in making learning media from waste fabric scraps. This training activity is expected to empower teachers in developing learning media at SDN Petompon 01 Semarang to be more creative in utilizing waste fabric scraps into learning media so that they can support the learning process in the classroom. This activity was attended by 20 participants and this service was delivered using lecture, discussion, demonstration, and direct practice methods. The results that have been achieved in this community service are an increase in participants in understanding the material presented, an increase in participants in making learning media from waste fabric scraps, and participants can implementation waste fabric scraps in the learning process as learning media

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 berdampak pada perubahan tatanan pendidikan di Indonesia, yaitu dari sistem pembelajaran tatap muka menjadi sistem pembelajaran jarak jauh. Salah satu jenis pembelajaran jarak jauh adalah pembelajaran daring. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi kontribusi multimedia dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap pembelajaran daring dan menganalisis fungsi media pembelajaran alternatif (multimedia interaktif) pada masa pandemi Covid-19, dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif berbasis studi kepustakaan (Library Research). Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode dokumentasi yang berasal dari sumber pustaka. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis isi, yang mengadaptasi setiap sumber atau artikel yang digunakan dan membandingkan konteksnya dengan artikel lain baik dari buku, jurnal, maupun makalah penelitian lainnya. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa multimedia dapat digunakan sebagai sumber belajar untuk pembelajaran daring. Multimedia juga dapat meningkatkan minat dan motivasi belajar anak yang sering menurun di masa Covid-19. Proses pembelajaran tetap aktif walaupun tidak dilakukan secara tatap muka. Termasuk segala fasilitas dan dukungan untuk memastikan pembelajaran daring dapat dilaksanakan, mulai dari akses internet, perangkat seperti smartphone dan notebook, serta tersedianya sinyal yang memadai.
