Abstract

The difference principle is designed to be applied in a school community setting where the previous conditions have been met. Inequality may or may not be defined in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, or socioeconomic status. For example, a student may be advantaged in one area (musical talent, for example) and disadvantaged in another (mathematical talent, for example), with little association with gender or race. This paper wants to know how the form of freedom of expression of students. The first amendment rights of students limit the freedom of students, how is the role of educational institutions in managing the freedom of students. Freedom is situationally limited in religion, law, ethics, culture and morals. The Supreme Court seeks to enforce students' First Amendment rights while knowingly admitting that students don't have the same expressive rights inside the school building gates as they do outside the gates. Legal guidelines can be ambiguous, and finding the right balance between student rights, a positive school environment, and the obligations of order and discipline can be difficult. The interaction of the system world and the lifeworld determines the school's normative environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) instructional model assisted by Wordwall media and learning motivation on students’ learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMP Negeri 1 Namorambe. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a 2×2 factorial design. The research population consisted of 160 seventh-grade students distributed across several classes, while the sample comprised 60 students, including 30 students in the experimental group and 30 students in the control group. The research instruments included a learning outcomes test and a learning motivation questionnaire. Data were analyzed using a two-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results indicated that (1) there was a significant difference in learning outcomes between students taught using the PBL model assisted by Wordwall media and those taught using the Direct Instruction model, (2) there was a difference in learning outcomes between students with high and low learning motivation, and (3) there was an interaction between the instructional model and learning motivation on students’ PAI learning outcomes. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of the Wordwall-assisted PBL model is effective in improving students’ learning outcomes and motivation in Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on students’ critical thinking skills and learning outcomes in the Fiqh Ibadah course at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universitas Dharmawangsa. A quasi-experimental approach with a pretest–posttest control group design was employed. The research participants consisted of 45 fourth-semester students divided into an experimental group taught using the PBL model and a control group taught using conventional instructional methods. Research instruments included a critical thinking skills test, a cognitive learning outcomes test, and an observation sheet of learning activities. Data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, independent-samples t-tests, and two-way ANOVA with the assistance of SPSS version 26.0. The findings indicate that the implementation of Problem-Based Learning has a statistically significant effect on improving students’ critical thinking skills (p < 0.05) and learning outcomes in the Fiqh Ibadah course (p < 0.05). Furthermore, a significant interaction was found between the learning model and students’ critical thinking skills in influencing learning outcomes. These results demonstrate that PBL not only enhances students’ conceptual understanding but also fosters higher-order thinking abilities, including analytical, reflective, and contextual reasoning in addressing contemporary fiqh issues. Therefore, Problem-Based Learning is recommended as an effective instructional strategy for improving the quality of Islamic education learning in higher education
