Abstract

In this study by taking the East Java region as a case study, the research will focus on the resilience of the investment climate on labor fluctuations and the deterioration of infrastructure quality. The data used are at district and city level in East Java starting from year 2007 until year 2014 which is yearly. Dependent variable in this research is total investment (INVESTMENT) that enters into districts and cities in East Java in the form of foreign direct investment (PMA) and domestics investment (PMDN), while the independent variable is divided into two categories namely labor supply shock and infrastructure quality. To represent employment conditions, several independent variable were selected namely human development index (HDI), labor force participation rate (LFPR), and district / municipal minimum wage (UMK). The other independent variables representing the quality condition of the infrastructure consisted of good road length (ROAD), power supply electricity (electricity) and government expenditure on infrastructure (GMODAL). By using panel data regression analysis in 38 districts in East Java, it can be concluded that the coefficient of UMK that contradicts with the theory can be explained from the phenomenon of data where, the minimum wage increase of city districts start 2007 to 2013 slightly has impact on the total investment value. On the other hand, infrastructure variables such as roads, electricity and allocation of government funds do not significantly affect the value of investment in East Java. Keywords: Data Panel Regression, Fixed Effect Model, Minimum Wage and Infrastructure.

Abstract

Economic growth plays a crucial role in determining the success of a country's development, with each nation setting stable economic growth targets within its development agenda. The process of economic growth is influenced by various factors that can either drive or hinder the pace of growth. This study aims to analyze the impact of zakah growth, the scientific and technical journal articles, population, and unemployment rates on the economic growth of 10 member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for the period 2002-2022 using a quantitative approach with a random effects panel data regression analysis technique and EViews 12 application for data management. As per the research findings, the variables of zakah and scientific and technical journal articles have a positive and significant relationship with economic growth. The population and unemployment rate have a negative and significant. Therefore, it is recommended that governments should improve efficiency in the management of zakah, allocate more budget for education and research, and formulate policies to promote innovation and collaboration between related sectors. It assists in achieving more awareness of zakah and participation in monitoring the utilization of zakah funds for society. The studies would help to see what variables affect economic growth.

Abstract

The paper attempts to explore the problems and roots of poverty, the poverty alleviation progress, programs and policies between selected Moslem populated-countries in Asia and selected non-Moslem populated-countries in Latin America. By conducting comparative analysis on statistical data, literature surveys, several journals, official reports and reliable research findings, all sources have been examined to construct comprehensive findings in the present article. Three important aspects are concluded. Firstly, by definition, a person who earns below 2,00 USD per day is considered “poor” according to the World Bank, and they are mostly living in rural areas and suburban slums. Second, poverty alleviation efforts in both particular groups of countries have resulted in a better outcome, whereby the number of poor decreased gradually according to statistical data reported by the World Bank. Other economic indicators such as GNI per capita and income inequality graphic have shown better patterns. Third, there have been different strategic policies and programs implemented between the two groups of countries. Islamic economic notions such as zakah, infaq, and sadaqah play a very significant role in Moslem populated countries, on the other hand, non Moslem populated countries tend to create more radical and creative strategies such as agendas of land reform and tourism industry development. Abstract

This research is aimed at discovering a stable financial scheming formula or model that would be compatible with the natural characteristics of a paddy farming cycle in Tuban. The qualitative research employs the use of an active participatory community through the means of a focus group discussion, an in-depth interview and face to face interviews with respective stakeholders and key informants. The Salam contract, which is highly beneficial is a prospective f inancial scheme that terminates the long business chain found in most businesses in Indonesia. The Corporate Social Responsibility which is managed through the Syariah approach (I-CSR) from a company, can become the solution to bridge the gap found in the implementation of funds for a Salam contract. The Salam contract applicability is dependent on the Islamic farmer cooperatives (BMT), a unit of joint venture organization serving as the key players in the execution of the function of a paddy warehouse-trading agent and direct financing to farmers. Strong support also comes from the zakat, infāq, and shodaqoh institution (LAZ) whose role is educating and encouraging the paddy farmers’ skills and competency, especially to enable them access end-user markets using the aid of information technology Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan formula skema pembiayaan pertanian yang stabil sesuai karakteristik dengan alamah pertanian padi di Kabupaten Tuban.

Abstract

Like many other cities, the industrial region of Gresik encounters problematic issues inherent in the burgeoning quantities of waste in landfill sites despite frequent policy implementations and other efforts from the local government. This study aims to examine and interlink between the possibility of the waqf concept and the growing number of waste issues in the Gresik industrial region. By harnessing ethnographical principles such as employing direct and consistent observations and reviewing numerous relevant literature surveys and archival documents, the study attempts to propose an executable design and model that will serve as a framework for stakeholders to address the weaknesses of current less favourable waste treatment programs. A comprehensive and rigorous consideration concludes that the viability of waqf can be a workable prospect and nucleus for an alternative solution and a complementary voluntary enhancement of effective regional policies and programs. An actionable and contributable waqf aspiration can start from the reformulation and rejuvenation of a rural waste bank which is designed to manage an effective balance between profitable and eco-friendly objectives. Professionalism and competence are significant factors in successfully enhancing the functionality of such an institution. Apart from the micro perspective, the bigger picture of a nexus of waqf and waste, including the current intermittent commitment from top policy makers transferred into timely execution, futuristic applicable technology, charitable giving and donation, and sensible collaborative cooperation, constitutes the conceivable determinants for the accomplishment of an efficacious program.

Abstract

Digitalization in microfinance institutions, including Sharia-compliant ones such as Baitul Maal wa Tamwil (BMT), is considered crucial for several reasons, including operational efficiency, increased financial inclusion, and rising demand in the evolving financial ecosystem. As a crucial tool for alleviating poverty and empowering marginalized communities, the integration of digital technology has become a necessity, not an option. This research examines the factors that influence millennials’ use of digital financial technology developed by BMT. This study employed the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) processed through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) in SmartPLS with 108 respondents. The sample consisted of millennial- generation Islamic digital BMT users in Indonesia who have at least one experience using it. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling, and data collection was carried out for one month. The results indicated that all hypotheses were accepted. Ease of use significantly affected users' attitudes, as did the usefulness for behavior. This finding implies that if a digital BMT platform is easier to use, it will lead to more positive attitudes among its users. , the more useful a digital BMT platform is, the more positively its users will behave and the more likely they will be to use it in the future.
