Abstract

Sanitation is one of the most important challenges for developing countries because according to WHO one of the causes of diarrhea is lack of access to sanitation which is still too low. Environmental Sanitation is the health status of an environment which includes housing, sewage disposal, provision of clean water and so on. The aim of the research determines the relationship between environmental sanitation factors and complaints of diarrhea among toddlers in Kalidawir sub-district, Tulungagung district. In this research, researchers used descriptive analytical methods with a cross sectional approach. With a sample of 92 toddlers with respondents namely mothers of toddlers in the Kalidawir health center working area, Tulungagung district. The results of research on the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers found that the majority of toddlers experienced diarrhea, namely 80 respondents (87%). Sources of clean water and the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers. There is an influence between sources of clean water and the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers. It is known that the majority of respondents who have a clean water source meet the requirements with the incidence of diarrhea being 53 respondents (57.6%). The latrine facility with the most respondents having a latrine that meets the requirements has an incidence of diarrhea of 50 respondents (54.3) while respondents with a latrine that does not meet the requirements has an incidence of diarrhea of 30 respondents (32.6%). Waste processing and the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers with the most respondents having waste and waste processing did not meet the requirements with the incidence of diarrhea as many as 71 respondents (77.2%). Meanwhile, 9 respondents (9.8%) had waste processing that met the requirements. There is a need to increase outreach on environmental sanitation programs, including clean water management, healthy latrine facilities and waste processing so that people are aware and increase clean and healthy behavior among the community.

Abstract

Based on the results of Riskesdas (2018), the prevalence of ARI in Indonesia is 9.3%, of which 9.0% are male and 9.7% are female (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2018). This understanding has not been fully understood by mothers and the elderly, so it is necessary to conduct socialization regarding the understanding and causes of people getting ARI. Selection of Dsn. Ngebruk Ds. Lorejo Kec. Bakung Kab Bitar, because the mobility of the community lacks knowledge about ARI and to increase insight regarding environmental factors that are at risk of ARI (Acute respiratory tract infection). The type of research used is descriptive analytical and the research design is cross-sectional. The objects of this study were mothers and elderly people studying in Ngebruk hamlet, Lorejo village, Bakung sub-district, Blitar regency. The results of ARI knowledge were obtained as much as 73.33% using the Gutman scale approach. With these results, it is stated that participants' knowledge of ARI is good, but participants still need to increase their knowledge in order to reduce the risk of contracting ARI. The results of ARI knowledge of 90%, with the results before and after the provision of community service materials increasing. It is important to have community service on preventing ARI in Lorejo Village, because this is very continuous with the priority of health problems in Lorejo Village, namely the counseling method that is less creative and innovative. By providing knowledge about understanding and also preventing ARI for mothers and the elderly, it is hoped that they can independently apply what they have learned to their families.

Abstract

The importance of reproductive health education for adolescents has become a global concern, especially in an effort to increase positive attitudes and behaviors towards sexual health. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of reproductive health education with the leaflet method on adolescents' attitudes and motivations about sexual health in SMAN 2 Seruyan Hilir Timur, Seruyan Regency, Central Kalimantan. The design of this study is a pre-experimentalquantitative research with a one group pre test and post test designwith the focus of the research directed to analyze the influence of reproductive health education with the leaflet method on adolescents' attitudes and motivations about sexual health at SMAN 2 Seruyan Hilir Timur, Seruyan Regency, Central Kalimantan. The total population was 63 respondents and a sample of 47 respondents was taken using the Simple Random Sampling technique. Based on the results of Wilcoxon's analysis, it was shown that the p-value of 0.000 < 0.05 then H1 was accepted, so it was concluded that there was an influence of reproductive health education with the leaflet method on adolescents' attitudes about sexual health at SMAN 2 Seruyan Hilir Timur, Seruyan Regency, Central Kalimantan. Based on the results of Wilcoxon's analysis, it shows that the p-value of 0.000 < 0.05 then H1 is accepted, so it is concluded that there is an effect of reproductive health education with the leaflet method on adolescents' motivation about sexual health at SMAN 2 Seruyan Hilir Timur, Seruyan Regency, Central Kalimantan. It is hoped that respondents will be more active in seeking and using the available information, including reading the leaflets provided carefully. In addition, adolescents are expected not to hesitate to discuss with health workers, teachers, or parents about the topic of reproductive health in order to gain a deeper understanding.
