Abstract

Penggunaan media Wordwall dalam pembelajaran interaktif salah satunya adalah pembelajaran bahasa Inggris pada mahasiswa UIN Raden Intan Lampung menunjukkan efektivitas yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana Wordwall, sebagai platform pembelajaran digital interaktif, dapat memfasilitasi pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang lebih menarik dan menyenangkan. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi kelas, wawancara dengan mahasiswa, dan analisis hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Wordwall meningkatkan motivasi belajar, partisipasi aktif, dan pemahaman materi pelajaran. Mahasiswa melaporkan bahwa fitur-fitur interaktif Wordwall, seperti kuis, permainan kata, dan latihan interaktif, membuat pembelajaran menjadi lebih dinamis dan membantu mereka dalam menguasai kosakata, tata bahasa, dan keterampilan komunikasi dalam bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Wordwall adalah alat yang efektif untuk mendukung pembelajaran interaktif salah satunya adalah pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang dapat diintegrasikan dengan baik dalam kurikulum pendidikan tinggi.

Abstract

The transition to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic brought significant challenges to maintaining student engagement, particularly in video conferencing-based EFL writing classes. While prior research has highlighted the potential of platforms like Zoom for synchronous learning, studies focusing on the dimensions of cognitive, behavioral, and emotional engagement in writing courses remain limited. This study aims to measure the levels of student engagement in video conferencing-based EFL writing classes and identify strategies to enhance engagement across these dimensions. Employing a mixed-method approach, the study involved 40 English Education undergraduate students at UIN Raden Intan Lampung, selected through purposive sampling. Quantitative data were collected using a questionnaire with 30 items measuring engagement dimensions, distributed via Google Forms. Qualitative data were obtained from semi-structured face-to-face interviews with 10 purposively selected participants. The questionnaire data were analyzed using SPSS for descriptive and inferential statistics, while thematic analysis was applied to the interview transcripts. The findings reveal high levels of cognitive engagement, with students actively participating in writing tasks facilitated by Zoom’s interactive features. However, behavioral engagement was moderate due to external challenges like connectivity issues and environmental distractions. Emotional engagement ranged from moderate to high, with students appreciating the platform's flexibility but occasionally experiencing feelings of isolation. The study highlights the need for integrating gamification, structured feedback, and hybrid learning models to address these challenges.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali strategi komunikasi yang diterapkan oleh guru agama dalam pembelajaran mengaji bagi orang dewasa di Dusun Sidomulyo, Desa Trimulyo, Kecamatan Tegineneng, Kabupaten Pesawaran. Pembelajaran mengaji untuk orang dewasa sering kali menghadapi tantangan berupa perbedaan usia, latar belakang pendidikan, dan pengalaman yang memengaruhi cara belajar mereka. Oleh karena itu, guru agama dituntut untuk menggunakan strategi komunikasi yang efektif agar pembelajaran dapat berjalan dengan lancar dan mencapai tujuan yang diinginkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan guru agama, observasi langsung terhadap proses pembelajaran, serta analisis dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru agama di Dusun Sidomulyo menggunakan beberapa strategi komunikasi, seperti pendekatan dialogis, penggunaan bahasa yang mudah dipahami, serta pemberian motivasi dan penguatan kepada peserta didik. Selain itu, guru agama juga memanfaatkan media pembelajaran sederhana yang dapat membantu mempermudah pemahaman peserta didik. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa strategi komunikasi yang diterapkan oleh guru agama berperan penting dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan mengaji orang dewasa, serta memperkuat hubungan antara guru dan peserta didik. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan bagi pengembangan metode pembelajaran agama di komunitas lainnya..

Abstract

Kanal Youtube Pengajian Gus Baha yang telah memiliki 493 ribu subscribers per 21 November 2024 menunjukkan popularitasnya sebagai salah satu media dakwah yang efektif di era digital. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gaya komunikasi dakwah yang digunakan Gus Baha serta pendekatan persuasif dan logistik yang diterapkan dalam menyampaikan pesan-pesan keagamaan melalui ceramah di kanal Youtube tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kepustakaan (library research). Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif analisis dengan pendekatan kualitatif untuk menganalisis gaya komunikasi dakwah KH Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim (Gus Baha) dengan menggunakan pendekatan persuasif dan logistik. Data primer diperoleh dari hasil observasi terhadap konten ceramah Gus Baha yang diunggah di kanal Youtube Pengajian Gus Baha dan respon audiens melalui komentar. Data sekunder diperoleh dari literatur-literatur yang relevan terkait dengan gaya komunikasi, metode dakwah, dan pendekatan persuasif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi tidak langsung terhadap ceramah-ceramah yang disiarkan di Youtube. Selanjutnya, teknik analisis data menggunakan metode analisis isi Krippendorff yang didukung oleh pendekatan persuasif Yale milik Carl Hovland untuk memahami bagaimana Gus Baha menyusun ceramahnya secara sistematis dan persuasif serta bagaimana gaya komunikasinya diterima oleh khalayak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Gus Baha menerapkan gaya komunikasi yang sederhana namun efektif dalam ceramahnya di Youtube, dengan menyisipkan humor dan bahasa yang ringan sehingga menciptakan suasana yang cair dan menyenangkan. Penggunaan gaya bahasa seperti ironi dan retorika lainnya memperdalam pesan secara persuasif. Gaya komunikasi monologis yang dipadukan dengan pendekatan persuasif yang berlandaskan kredibilitas dan logika membuat khalayak lebih mudah menerima pesan dakwah. Melalui platform Youtube, Gus Baha berhasil menjangkau khalayak yang luas dan memberikan dampak positif bagi pemahaman dan kehidupan spiritual mereka.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran Kitab Ta’lim Muta’allim dalam membina akhlak santri di Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Ulum Baruranji, Kecamatan Merbau Mataram, Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Kitab Ta’lim Muta’allim merupakan salah satu kitab klasik yang berisi ajaran-ajaran etika belajar, adab terhadap guru, serta pembentukan karakter Islami yang menjadi bagian penting dalam proses pendidikan di pesantren. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran Kitab Ta’lim Muta’allim di Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Ulum dilakukan secara rutin dan sistematis, dengan metode pengajaran tradisional seperti sorogan dan bandongan. Pengasuh dan ustadz memberikan penekanan tidak hanya pada pemahaman teks, tetapi juga pada internalisasi nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam kitab. Secara umum, pembelajaran kitab ini terbukti cukup efektif dalam membentuk akhlak santri, ditandai dengan meningkatnya sikap hormat kepada guru, kedisiplinan, kesederhanaan, dan tanggung jawab dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.Namun demikian, efektivitas tersebut juga dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain seperti keteladanan pengajar, lingkungan pesantren, dan kedisiplinan santri itu sendiri. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar pembelajaran kitab Ta’lim Muta’allim terus diperkuat melalui pendekatan kontekstual serta evaluasi berkala terhadap capaian akhlak santri.

Abstract

Da’wah, as a means of conveying Islamic teachings, must adapt to the developments of the times. No longer limited to face-to-face interaction, da’wah can now be delivered through various media, one of which is print media. Da’wah bil qolam, or written da’wah, serves as an effective alternative for communicating religious messages. Books are a powerful medium for this purpose, as seen in the folk tale “Ande-Ande Lumut” by Arti Purbani. This study aims to analyze the content of da’wah messages found within the story. A significant background of this research is the declining reading interest among children, driven largely by the rapid advancement of digital technology. Children today are more inclined to engage with gadgets and online games than to develop literacy through reading. This research is qualitative in nature, using a content analysis approach and categorized as library research. The primary data source is the story of “Ande-Ande Lumut” from Arti Purbani’s book, while secondary sources include books, academic journals, scholarly articles, and relevant online resources. Data collection methods involved literature review, reading, and note-taking. The findings indicate that the folk tale contains a range of da’wah messages, including messages of aqidah (faith in Allah and destiny), sharia (worship and social transactions), and akhlaq (morality towards God and fellow humans). Among all the paragraphs, sharia messages are the most dominant, followed by akhlaq, and aqidah.

Abstract

In this 21st century, most of the students come from the digital environment. It makes the students learning change from only printed to screen pages. In order to improve students’ writing and reading litracies, teachers have to integrate technology into their English literacy classroom to make the students interested in  learning English. In that classroom, the students will be exposed to multiple genres of texts and in the multimodal forms which combine words, images, and sounds as resources of learning. This paper describes how English literacy learning may be enhanced by using multimodal media. In teaching reading and writing, the teacher of English may use web-blogs, e-books e-journals, twitter, facebooks, e-mail in addition to printed texts.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation of contemporary dawah communication through a problem-solving approach to address modern adolescent lifestyles in Parerejo Village, Pringsewu Regency. The study employs a qualitative approach with purposive sampling of religious teachers (ustadz) and adolescents aged 15-17. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation, with data analysis involving reduction, presentation, verification, and triangulation. Results show that adolescent lifestyle is influenced by environmental, economic, educational, and technological factors, with the primary issues relating to self-identity and relationships with the opposite sex. Practical problem-solving approaches include (1) enhancing adolescents' cognitive abilities and (2) providing interpersonal communication spaces. Appropriate contemporary dawah communication methods encompass lectures, discussions, exemplary role modeling (uswatun hasanah), and utilization of digital media tailored to adolescents' biological, psychological, and social needs. This research contributes as a reference for adolescents facing modern lifestyles and as a guide for parents in mentoring adolescent children using problem-solving approaches.

Abstract

This study explores English Education students’ self-efficacy in utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for language learning within the Indonesian higher education context. A sequential explanatory mixed-method design was employed. In the first phase, a quantitative descriptive survey was administered to 100 English Education students using an adapted version of the Teacher Artificial Intelligence Competence Self-efficacy (TAICS) scale. The instrument consisted of twenty items covering six constructs: AI Knowledge, AI Pedagogy, AI Assessment, AI Ethics, Human-Centred Education, and Professional Engagement. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed that students’ overall self-efficacy was at a moderate level (M = 3.53), with the highest confidence observed in AI Knowledge and AI Pedagogy, while AI Ethics and Professional Engagement scored lowest. In the second phase, qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews with a purposive sub-sample of fifteen students and analyzed thematically. Five themes emerged: mastery experiences, vicarious experiences, social persuasion, ethical awareness, and affective states. These themes reflected the sources of self-efficacy proposed by Bandura and explained variations in students’ confidence. The findings indicate that students are generally prepared to integrate AI tools for learning and future teaching, yet gaps remain in ethical confidence and professional engagement. The study suggests that teacher education programs should provide structured training, reflective practices, and ethical guidance to strengthen responsible AI use.
