Abstract

This study examines community development program, i.e. TPK PNPM Mandiri in Kota Agung village and shows that level of community members’ participation differs according to their capacity. In general, community members participate by giving contribution in the form of money, wealth, power, skills, and idea. However, participation by giving ideas to the program is considered low. In terms of implementation, community participation is signified by working together (gotong royong) in implementing certain development programs. Likewise, community also involves in program monitoring and evaluation.

Abstract

This study explores client empowerment through life skills training initiatives at Bapas Class II Pringsewu Regency, Lampung Province. The objective of the study was to determine how the life skills program empowers clients at Bapas Class II Pringsewu. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, combining a literature review with direct field observations. Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews with 18 informants, and document analysis. The study findings indicate that: (1) clients are actively involved in various vocational trainings, including haircutting, flower arranging, culinary skills, and sewing; (2) participants develop economically valuable skills such as creative sewing and high-quality cooking; and (3) religious education is integrated into the program, which encourages self-awareness, empathy, and ethical behavior. These initiatives significantly support client reintegration, as reflected in a decreased likelihood of recidivism and greater potential for economic independence. In conclusion, the life skills program at Bapas Class II Pringsewu demonstrates a significant impact on clients' personal and social development. Therefore, it is recommended that the government further strengthen and expand this initiative to support sustainable reintegration and prevent future offenses.

Abstract

Lampung Barat merupakan salah satu daerah penghasil kopi robusta yang memiliki potensi besar dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Namun, masyarakat menghadapi berbagai kendala dalam pengelolaan dan pemasaran kopi robusta, seperti rendahnya pengetahuan teknik budidaya, keterbatasan akses pasar, dan minimnya dukungan kelembagaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui pengelolaan dan pemasaran kopi robusta di Sekolah Kopi , serta mengetahui dampaknya terhadap peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat setempat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan deskriptif dengan kombinasi kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan pengelolaan kopi yang meliputi teknik budidaya, pascapanen, dan pemasaran berhasil meningkatkan kapasitas petani. Selain itu, penguatan jaringan pemasaran dan peningkatan akses pasar mampu meningkatkan produktivitas dan pendapatan masyarakat. Namun masih terdapat kendala seperti keterbatasan modal dan informasi pasar yang perlu menjadi perhatian. Pengembangan kelembagaan petani dan pemberdayaan berkelanjutan untuk mendukung peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui kopi robusta. Dengan demikian, pengelolaan dan pemasaran kopi robusta di Sekolah Kopi memiliki peran strategis dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat dan pembangunan ekonomi lokal.

Abstract

During the era of globalisation, we will be presented with the disharmony of the crisis of human values with the tension of Islamic norms along with the advancement of science and technology (IPTEK). Therefore, the correlation between aspects of religion / da'wah, social communication, and science needs to be integrated in the delivery of Islamic religious education and social character building. The main focus is how da'wah and Islamic religious education can build social character in accordance with Islamic values in the midst of rapid social change. The study presented in this research uses a literature review to collect, evaluate and synthesise information from various sources, thus building a comprehensive understanding of the topic discussed. This research found that da'wah and Islamic religious education are very important in building social character in accordance with Islamic values. The concept of effective da'wah communication can help in transforming the values of Islamic religious education into relevant da'wah applications in the modern era. Islamic religious education aims to improve the quality of human resources and create a decent situation for life and the environment. Da'wah and Islamic religious education have an important role in building social character in accordance with Islamic values. In the modern era, da'wah must be able to adapt to the development of science and technology and globalisation to remain relevant and effective. This research emphasises the importance of integration between da'wah and communication to achieve sustainable da'wah goals.
