Abstract

Abstrak: Pertambahan penduduk yang pesat telah menyebabkan kebutuhan ruang untuk beraktivitas semakin meningkat. Kebutuhan ruang untuk tempat tinggal dan pemenuhan pangan semakin besar. Di sisi lain, jumlah lahan pertanian semakin menurun akibat terjadinya alih fungsi lahan. Keterbatasan lahan juga mengakibatkan sebagian hunian masyarakat merupakan hunian padat penduduk dengan kepemilikan lahan yang sangat terbatas. Permasalahan yang muncul pada kawasan padat penduduk adalah terbatasnya ruang terbuka hijau. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman tentang pentingnya ruang terbuka hijau dan pemanfaatan lahan sempit sebagai pemenuhan ruang terbuka hijau dan sumber pangan melalui teknik budidaya secara modern. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan RT 06 Ngelos, yaitu salah satu hunian di Dusun Ngangkruk Kecamatan Sleman dengan lokasi sangat strategis, tetapi kepadatan penduduknya cukup tinggi. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui metode partisipatif, yaitu pelaksanaan kegiatan yang melibatkan langsung peran aktif masyarakat. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui budidaya tanaman sayur yang dilakukan melalui keknik hidroponik dan vertikultur. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh masyarakat (100%) dapat menguasai teknik budidaya tanaman dengan memanfaatkan lahan yang terbatas dengan budidaya tanaman secara  modern. Selain itu, masyarakat juga memahami bahwa lahan sempit dapat digunakan untuk pemenuhan ruang terbuka hijau dan kebutuhan pangan secara produktif melalui budidaya tanaman yang produktif.Abstract: Rapid population growth has triggered higher spatial needs for human activities. Spatial need for settlement and food supply has become greater. On the other hand, number of arable lands are decreasing due to land use conversion.  Land limitation also affect the width of land ownership since majority of people live in high density residential areas. Most commonly found problems in high density resident is the limitation of green space.  This study was aimed to provide insight about the importance of green space and the utilization of small space as green space and food source through modern farming. This community service was conducted in one of high-density residential areas in Ngangkruk Village, namely Ngelos. This activity was performed through participation method where the society was actively involved. This activity consisted of vegetable farming using hydroponic and verticulture. Results showed all participants were able to understand the farming technique by utilizing small space for urban farming. In addition, the participant also understood the strategy of utilizing small space for fulfilling the need of green space and food self-sufficiency through modern and productive farming.

Abstract

Pramuka merupakan organisasi untuk generasi muda yang mendidik para anggotanya dengan berbagai jenis keterampilan, disiplin, kepercayaan pada diri sendiri, saling tolong-menolong, dan lain sebagainya. Salah satu tujuan dari Gerakan Pramuka adalah untuk menggali potensi dan meningkatkan keterampilan generasi muda sehingga menjadi individu yang bermanfaat bagi masyarakat dan negara. Pandemi Covid-19 yang melanda Indonesia telah menyebabkan kegiatan kepramukaan terhenti. Hal tersebut menyebabkan pembina pramuka non-ASN juga kehilangan pendapatan. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan keterampilan bagi pembina pramuka non-ASN dalam rangka memanfaatkan lahan sempit untuk budidaya pertanian guna mendapatkan penghasilan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah penyuluhan, kunjungan lapangan, dan praktik budi daya tanaman, dan budi daya ayam kampung. Penyuluhan diikuti oleh 26 pembina Pramuka dan 4 orang utusan Saka Tarunabumi. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa sebagian pembina Pramuka belum mengetahui cara budidaya tanaman dan ternak di lahan sempit. Setelah kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan, terdapat 6 orang pembina yang melakukan budi daya ayam kampung untuk tahap pembibitan (penyediaan bibit ayam kampung) dan pembesaran ayama kampung dan7 orang melakukan budi daya tanaman pada lahan sempit. Sementara peserta yang lain sedang mempersiapkan untuk melakukan budi daya tanaman dan ternak.

Abstract

Kotagede merupakan kawasan dengan kepadatan penduduk cukup tinggi. Akibatnya, lahan ruangterbuka juga terbatas, termasuk lahan yang dapat digunakan untuk budidaya tanaman. Muhammadiyahmerupakan salah satu organisasi sosial kemasyarakata yang berkembang di Kotagede. Pengabdianmasyarakat yang dilakukan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada organisasi otonomi di bawahPimpinan Cabang Muhammadiyah Kotagede dalam memanfaatkan lahan sempit perkotaan dalamrangka budidaya tanaman yang bermanfaat pada lahan sempit. Metode yang dilakukan adalah denganmelakukan penyuluhan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan masyarakat sebelumdilakukannya penyuluhan sebesar …. Abstract

The Community Service Program was implemented with partners of the governments of Padukuhan Beneran, Purwobinangun, Pakem and the Students Community Service Program. The Community Service Program Team assisted the Padukuhan Beneran community in utilizing their yard for planting vegetables in pots. This is done to achieve food security in the form of the community being in a position where food needs for their households are adequately met. The goal of this Community Service Program is to encourage the community to make good use of their yards in order to maintain family food self-sufficiency. Yard land utilization is a strategy for increasing food independence because yard land has the potential to provide family food. This Service Program consists of three activities: counseling on community food security, counseling on the use of yard land for vegetable cultivation, and training on planting vegetables in pots.

Abstract

Donoasih is one of the hamlets in Donokerto Turi which is located on the southern slope of Mount Merapi. The people in this hamlet have various social conditions, both education and profession. Most of the community in this village are farmers and ranchers. The problem in this village is the management of livestock manure that has not been optimal. Some livestock manure and agricultural waste are left in the hope that they will decompose on their own. In order to overcome these problems, it is necessary to increase understanding of community about the utilization of livestock manure into more useful products. The solution offered is counseling and assistance in processing animal manure into fertilizer so that it can provide better benefits. The results obtained showed that after the activity was carried out, 100% of the farming-breeding communities in the Donoasih village could make organic fertilizers, both solid organic fertilizers and liquid organic fertilizers derived from livestock manure and agricultural waste.

Abstract

Kalibawang is one of the hilly areas in Kulonprogo Regency. Most of the people in this area are Muslim, although the number of followers of other religions is also growing. Part of the people in Kalibawang are converts, are a lower until middle class society. The existing economic limitations have made some of the converts formed a group of goat breeders with capital from donors. This goat breeder group has been running for about 1 year and has 6 members, with the number of goats increasing. The problem is the limited knowledge of the members of the farmer group for integrated goat farming system. The solutions offered are 1) providing  training on the manufacture of organic fertilizer from existing goat farm waste; 2) integrated goat farming practices. The results of the assistance carried out, before the training was carried out, all converts did not know how to make organic fertilizer and cultivate goats correctly. After the counseling and mentoring was carried out, farmers began to understand the integrated goat farming technique, and began to put it into practice, both in waste management and in the design of healthier cattle pens.

Abstract

Kakao merupakan tanaman perkebunan yang cukup menjanjikan, namun produksinya di Indonesia sangat fluktuatif. Pengembangan kakao banyak dilakukan di Sulawesi, namun tidak menutup kemungkinan dikembangkan di daerah lain, salah satunya di Kecamatan Kepenuhan Hulu Provinsi Riau. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menetapkan karakteristik lahan dan mengevaluasi kelas kesesuaian lahan aktual dan potensial untuk budidaya tanaman kakao di Kecamatan Kepenuhan Hulu. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survei yang dianalisis secara deskriptif berdasarkan kriteria kesesuaian lahan untuk tanaman kakao. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan metode pencocokan secara weight faktor. Analisis sampel dilakukan berdasarkan metode yang dikeluarkan oleh Balai Besar Sumberdaya Lahan Pertanian Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa lahan di Kecamatan Kepenuhan Hulu, Kabupaten Rokan Hulu termasuk ke dalam kelas S3 (sesuai marginal) dengan faktor-faktor pembatas lahan berupa kelembaban, tekstur, kedalaman tanah, N-total dan K tersedia, kejenuhan basa dan C-organik). Perbaikan yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan menambahkan bahan organik, pemupukan, dan pengapuran untuk meningkatkan kesuburan tanah, sehingga mampu meningkatkan kelas kesesuaian lahan di Kecamatan Kepenuhan Hulu dari S3 (sesuai marginal) dapat naik kelas satu tingkat menjadi S2 (cukup sesuai) yang artinya lahan sesuai untuk budidaya tanaman kakao.

Abstract

Soil fertility is enhanced by eruptions of Mount Merapi, which deposits pyroclastic debris rich in weatherable primary minerals. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the geochemical weathering index of soils in the southern catena of Mount Merapi, an area affected by the 2010 eruption. Soil samples were collected to describe 4 geomorphic units, namely the higher, middle, lower, and foot slopes. X-ray fluorescence (X-RF) was conducted to determine total element content, and five weathering indexes (Weathering Index of Parker (WIP), Vogt's Residual Index (V), Chemical Index of Alteration (CIA), Chemical Index of Weathering (CIW), and Plagioclase Index of Alteration (PIA)) were calculated. The results show that aluminum (Al) was the most abundant oxide, followed by calcium (Ca), potassium (K), magnesium (Mg), and sodium (Na). Weathering indexes suggested moderate weathering (WIP > 100, V > 1) with a significant presence of fresh volcanic material (CIA, CIW, PIA between 50-100, closer to 50). Variations in each horizon signified the vertical and horizontal movement of mobile elements. The C horizon (deeper layer) had a higher WIP but lower values for the other indexes. In conclusion, geomorphological units influenced the distribution of fresh volcanic material, weathering products, and translocation of elements. Weathering index values reflected the ongoing release of nutrients from minerals. Abstract

Sampah merupakan permasalahan klasik yang belum terpecahkan dengan baik. Kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan sampah masih rendah, termasuk dalam pengelolaan sampah organik. Daerah perkotaan, umumnya menjadi penyumbang sampah terbesar. Studi ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat Kotagede terhadap pengelolaan sampah organik. Sasaran studi adalah anggota Muhammadiyah di lingkup PCM Kotagede. Metode studi yang digunakan adalah metode survei. Pelaksanaan survei dilakukan sebelum dan setelah dilaksanakan penyuluhan tentang peningkatan nilai ekonomi sampah organik. Survei dilakukan terhadap 55 orang peserta penyuluhan Upaya Peningkatan Nilai Ekonomi Sampah Organik. Hasil survei sebelum dilaksanakannya penyuluhan, 100% peserta mengetahui bahwa sampah organik dapat diolah kembali. Dari proses pengolahan sampah tersebut terdapat 23 orang (42%) responden paham tentang pengolahan sampah. Setelah penyuluhan dilaksanakan, sebanyak 84% paham tentang proses pengolahan sampah, sedangkan 16% belum memahami. Dari hasil tersebut, semua peserta menghendaki dilakukannya pengelolaan sampah organik yaitu dengan praktek pembuatan pupuk organik.Increasing Knowledge of the Kotagede CommunityIn Organic Waste ManagementABSTRACTGarbage is a classic problem that has not been resolved properly. Public awareness of waste management is still low, including in organic waste management. Urban areas are generally the largest contributor to waste. This study was conducted to determine the level of knowledge of the Kotagede community on organic waste management. The target of the study is Muhammadiyah members within the PCM Kotagede. The study method used was a survey method. The survey was carried out before and after counseling on the increase in the economic value of organic waste. The survey was conducted on 55 participants of counseling on Efforts to Increase the Economic Value of Organic Waste. From the survey results before the implementation of counseling, 100% of the participants knew that organic waste could be recycled. From the waste processing process, 23 people (42%) of respondents understand about waste processing. After counseling was carried out, as many as 84% understood about the waste processing process, while 16% did not understand. From these results, all participants wanted organic waste management to be carried out by practicing organic fertilizer production. Keywords:  Economic; compost; MPM Kotagede; Garbage

Abstract

Intermittent irrigation in cultivating rice plants can reduce and save water needs. The study aims to identify NPK nutrient uptake in various kinds of irrigation to select the suitability of local rice varieties in several types of irrigation. The research was conducted in the Experimental Land, Soil, and Plant Nutrition Laboratory and Production Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, for five months. The research method was conducted using a field experiment with a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) of 3 repetitions and a 3 by 4 strip plot layout. Factor I, namely irrigation, includes conventional irrigation (A1), ten days of inundation and five days of drying (A2), and seven days of inundation and three days of drying (A3). Factor II is the rice varieties, including Rojolele Genjah (V1), Pandan Wangi (V2), Mentik Wangi (V3), and Ciherang (V4). The results showed no interaction between the irrigation type and the variety of the observed parameters. Irrigation does not affect the absorption of N, P, and K, but it affects the weight of rice clump grain. Variety influences the uptake of P and K in rice plants. The Pandan Wangi variety has a higher P absorption than other varieties. Rojolele varieties have higher K absorption than Pandan Wangi and Ciherang varieties. The grain weight per rice clump of the Pandan Wangi variety is heavier than that of other varieties. Grain weight per rice clump with 10-day intermittent irrigation: 5-day drying is heavier than conventional irrigation.
