Abstract

Pumps are fluid machines whose uses are very broad and important, ranging from industry to household needs. Selection of pump performance characteristics is very important and must be adjusted to the needs which include: discharge, head, power, and rotation. The performance characteristics of the pump are obtained through testing. In connection with the importance of information about pump performance characteristics, through this research activity efforts will be made to test centrifugal pumps using 3 hp of power. In this research, the data obtained from the direct test results will be entered, where the test is carried out at the Machine Performance Test Laboratory. In this test, the pump pressure data obtained from the gauge gradually with several valve openings, then the data is entered into the data table that has been prepared. The test was carried out to test the ability of the centrifugal pump test equipment using 3 HP power which was prepared as one of the laboratory pump test equipment for engine performance testing. In testing the centrifugal pump there are 3 variables that will be used to carry out the test, namely the first by using a tachometer which is useful for measuring shaft rotation, the second by using a Bordoun manometer which is useful for measuring fluid pressure, the third by using an orifice which functions to measure speed fluid.

Abstract

The community service activities in Kaduela Village, which were part of a matching fund program for the year 2023, were executed from July–December 2023 in accordance with the proposed activity plan. The objective of this initiative was to establish a comprehensive water pipeline infrastructure to provide clean water to the inhabitants of Bina Loka and Bina Bakti Hamlet, who lacked access to the numerous springs located in Kaduela Village. Proper and comprehensive piping planning was necessary to provide equitable distribution of water among community members in the two elevated hamlets relative to the water source. The process of addressing issues in Kaduela Village involved several sequential steps. These steps encompassed the collection of primary and secondary data, the depiction of the new piping network on a map of Kaduela Village, the simulation of the new piping network using Epanet software, the construction of the new piping network, and the subsequent commissioning of the system. The chosen pipe network configuration is a dead-end system, which was deemed appropriate for implementation in the Bina Loka and Bina Bakti hamlets, with the aim of providing water services to a total of 58 households in Bina Loka and 15 households in Bina Bakti. The process of pipeline network designing was conducted by Mechanical Engineering students from Universitas Pasundan and Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Cirebon, under the supervision of their respective supervisors, utilizing the Epanet software. In addition to receiving funding under the 2023 matching fund program, this initiative also garnered comprehensive support from the BUMDES Arya Kamuning as the primary collaborator

Abstract

The prototype tool of the hydroelectric power plant is an engineering tool as a demonstration of a power plant that is moved by water. So the tool will be redesigned by researchers as a comparison of courses in mechanical engineering study programs, especially engineering thermodynamics courses. In the design of the tool will be designed using the solid work computer program. Then in the selection of design components that are used are easily obtained or within reach of purchasing the tool, namely the frame holder for the power plant using holo steel, a water pump using a 260 bit jet pump that uses 200 watts of electric power, electricity supply using an alternator that has 200 watts of electric power. The water-driven turbine is the process made using Pvc pipe which has a tilt angle on the blade of 30 o. turbine cover using acrylic material with a thick size of 10 mm, water reservoir using steel plate size 4 mm and lamp load that will be tested 100 watt capacity. At the capacity of this tool requires a cost of approximately Rp. 5,811,500,
