Abstract

This study has purpose to assess the interaction of the learning model (Problem Based Learning and Inquiry Based Learning) and learning motivation to improve the 21st century skills of elementary school students, particularly at the stage of critical thinking. The method applied was quantitative descriptive by interacting learning model, learning motivation to in improving the 21st century skill by using data analysis techniques of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, normality test, homogeneity test and two-way ANOVA. The data collection technique used in this study was in the form of technical tests of essay test and non-test in the form of motivation attitude scale and in-depth interview. Subjects in this study consisted of 64 students. They were divided into two groups, 32 students by using the learning model of PBL model and 32 students by using the learning model of IBL. These results of this study showed that; (1) There is no interaction between the learning model of (PBL and IBL) and learning motivation in improving the 21st century skill of elememtary students in their critical thinking skills. Based on the statistical analysis, obtained sig value higher than 0.05. (2) To improve the critical thinking of studnts, the learning model of PBL is better than the learning model of IBL. (3) The implementation of the learning model of (PBL and IBL) was able to increase students' motivation. (4) The increase of students' motivation with PBL learning model was higher than the IBL learning models.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction between learning models (problem-based learning and inquiry-based learning) and learning styles in improving students learning outcomes (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor). The research method applied in this study was quantitative descriptive by using data analysis techniques of validity test, reliability test, difficulty level test, normality test, homogeneity test, and two-way ANOVA test. The data collection techniques used were tests in the form of descriptive questions, and non-tests in the form of cooperative attitude observation sheets, and student learning style questionnaire sheets. The subjects in this study were 48 students who were divided into two groups. The first group consisted of 24 students using the problem-based learning model, and the second group consisted of 24 students using the inquiry-based learning model. The results of the study showed that: There is an interaction between learning models and learning styles in improving the learning outcomes in the cognitive and affective domains. There is no interaction between learning models and learning styles in improving psychomotor domains. The learning model of inquiry-based learning was more effective to be used in the learning than the problem-based learning models in improving student learning outcomes (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor) in the class with heterogeneous student learning styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic).

Abstract

In the Quran-Hadith learning activities, teachers still make use of conventional methods so that students do not achieve optimal results. Therefore, teachers, as managers in a learning process, are required to be creative in order to make their students learn more actively. This study aims to analyze the differences in learning outcomes gained by students treated using project-based learning model and talking sticktype of cooperative learning model withlevels of abilityand interaction as moderating variables. This study used a quantitative method throughan experimental approach using 2x2 factorial design. The results found there are differences in students’ learning outcomes using project-based learning model and talking sticktype of cooperative learning model with a significance value of 0,000; there were differences in learning outcomes between students with high ability and those with low ability with a significancevalue of 0.002; an interaction between the learning models and the students’ ability levels on their learning outcomes with a significance value of 0.011. The implication of this study is to provide teachers with direct experiences in examining the learning models and it can be used by teachers in selecting the proper learning model in improving the learning activity process.

This research uses qualitative approach method. The subject is the section of training, training instructors, FMD team and trainees. Engineering data collection done by observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include the collection of data, data presentation, data reduction and withdrawal of the conclusion. An examination of the validity of the data using triangulation of sources and method. The research results showed that: (1) the model of learning which is implemented in office administration training refers to information processing model, personal model and behavior modification model. Implementation of the three models includes: learning syntax, social systems, reaction principles, support systems, instructional impacts and impact accompaniment. In the implementation of learning model in office administration, the training is based on adult learning principle, (2) participants' readiness is nurtured through job training activities that include 14 competency units, softskills activities, and character building.

Abstract

The limited creativity of teachers in choosing the right learning model has an impact on the students' learning outcomes. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of problem-based learning and project-based learning model in improving the outcomes of science learning. The type of research is experimental research with pretest-posttest design. The population is the students in the seventh grade of SMP Bina Insani Semarang. The samples were taken by cluster random sampling technique. Research data were analyzed by using independent test sample t test at α 0.05. The results showed: (1) there were differences of cognitive learning outcomes between group based learning and project based learning with significance value 0.001 < 0.05, (2) there was no significant difference between problem based learning and project based learning groups in improving students’ caring attitude toward environment with a significance value of 0.666 > 0.05. So, the conclusion is problem based learning models is more effective to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes than project based learning models. Both models do not show significant differences in improving students' environmental care attitudes. The benefits of this research can find a synthesis to add khasanah in the field of science learning.

Abstract

Each student has his learning style in understanding, comprehending, until practicing his already owned knowledge. Specifically, in learning the English language, all students must have the potential motivation or dominant ability affected by surroundings, habits, and also science and technology. Learning English lesson for the eleventh grader of SMAN 1 Sumber still tended to use the conventional method without supporting the result of students’ speaking ability. This research has purposed to (1) analyze the effectiveness of PBL model through picture series media to improve students’ speaking ability seen from students learning style, (2) analyze the effectiveness of learning styles to improve students’ speaking ability, and (3) analyze the interaction between learning style of the students with PBL model to improve students’ speaking ability. It was a semi-experimental model by using treatment by level 2x2 factorial design. The population was XI grader of Senior High School 1 Sumber. The samples were two randomly chosen classes: XI MIA 4 and XI MIA 7. The data of the research were analyzed by SPSS 17.0 and Two Ways ANOVA. The findings showed improvement of English speaking ability seen from student learning styles and the learning styles were effective to improve the English speaking ability of the student. There was an interaction between learning style with the PBL model in improving the English speaking ability of the students. Seen from the elaboration above, it could be explained that the intervention could improve the English speaking ability of the student. The findings would help students and teacher to recognize student learning styles and the teachers could select appropriate media and learning method to improve student learning achievements.
