Abstract

Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer (OADM) menggunakan Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) merupakan passive optical device dalam sistem transmisi serat optik yang dapat melakukan multiplexing, demultiplexing, filter, dan routing pada teknik Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM). Hasil analisis penerapan OADM menggunakan FBG dalam sistem serat optik menunjukkan pada spasi kanal 100 GHz terjadi penurunan panjang grating 1,6048 mm sampai dengan 0,1646 mm, penurunan nilai panjang grating tersebut menunjukkan semakin besar jumlah kanal transmisi panjang gelombang yang ditransmisikan. Pada hasil analisis penurunan panjang grating dan perubahan indeks bias grating sebesar 10-3, 10-4, dan 10-5 terjadi penurunan reflektivitas dan peningkatan transmitivitas sehingga juga dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam peningkatan jumlah kanal transmisi. Analisis crosstalk pada spasi kanal 100 GHz menunjukkan nilai crosstalk yang kecil antara -25,1282 dB sampai dengan -20,4846 dB, terbukti bahwa OADM menggunakan FBG pada sistem serat optik dapat mengurangi crosstalk.Kata Kunci—OADM, FBG, DWDM, reflektivitas, transmitivitas, crosstalk.I. Abstract

 Automatic face detection in frontal view for thermal images is a primary task in a health system e.g. febrile identification or security system e.g. intruder recognition. In a daily state, the scanned person does not always stay in frontal face view. This paper develops an algorithm to identify a frontal face in various standing body-pose. The algorithm used an image processing method where first it segmented face based on human skin’s temperature. Some exposed non-face body parts could also get included in the segmentation result, hence discriminant features of a face were applied. The shape features were based on the characteristic of a frontal face, which are: (1) Size of a face, (2) facial Golden Ratio, and (3) Shape of a face is oval. The algorithm was tested on various standing body-pose that rotate 360° towards 2 meters and 4 meters camera-to-object distance. The accuracy of the algorithm on face detection in a manageable environment is 95.8%. It detected face whether the person was wearing glasses or not.

Abstract

Heartbeat and body temperature are vital signs that routinely checked by the hospital to determine the clinical signs are used to confirm the diagnosis of a disease. In the process, heartbeat and body temperature checking in some hospitals still use manual system where a nurse had to come to the patient room to check and record heartbeat and body temperature of the patient. This system is less effective because it takes a lot of time. In this research has been created a monitoring system of the heartbeat and body temperature wirelessly. The system uses pulse sensors to detect the heartbeat, LM35 to detect body temperature, for data processing using Arduino nano and utilize NRF24L01 as wireless data transmission media. This system detects heartbeat and body temperature in real time. The processed data is then displayed on an application. The information provided on the application include heartbeats per minute, body temperature, and indicators of the condition of the heartbeat and body temperature of the patient. The application also have a features that can store heartbeat and body temperature at a certain time. Based on the test results, the success rate of the system in detecting heartbeats is 97.17%. While success rate of the system in detecting body temperature is 99.28%. For data transmission, the system can perform data transmission smoothly at a maximum distance of 15 meters to the barrier. For storage in the database, the system can store data as expected.

Abstract

Smart home were developed to do some daily activity automatically. To operate or monitor some devices in home wirelessly using smartphone. Nowadays, there's lot of smarthome control application based on smartphone that being developed but without paying attention to the basic principle of design, that's why in this research we will make smart home control application using android smartphone with bluetooth connectivity that could control some devices with basic design principle of human and computer interaction in mind with user friendly feature. Those priciple were designed to increase usability of the application to ease the user in operating smart home. Design process used in this application development is begin with what method that we wanted, and the we analyze the skenario and HTA the implement the interaction design principle. Usability test of the application were done using verification and observation.The result of verification test were work as predicted skenario. While in observation test, user need 43,1 second in average. Analysis of usability test by giving USE questionnaires to 30 respondents with the provision 15 users with basic knowledge of IT and 15 non IT with 5 categories based on the Likert scale ratings. usefulness, ease of use and easy to understand and satisfaction category get 4 (agree). From this research, we can conclude that this application is having high usability and from the observation test, user have agreed that this application would help them in controlling their home.

Abstract

The development of science and technology makes the quality of human life is growing, the processing industry and agricultural estates are also growing rapidly. One of the stages in the processing of agricultural products and plantations is the selection of products based on quality, such as fruit maturity level. The process of selecting agricultural products and plantations is highly dependent on the human perception of the fruit color composition factor. Apple is one type of fruit that is very popular and is often consumed by the community, both from the young to the old. Apples also contain vitamins needed by the human body, including vitamins A, B1, and C. So, it can be said that apples are a very popular fruit because the benefits are very abundant. But apple lovers are often confused in terms of choosing apples that have ripe maturity. Sometimes apple entrepreneurs still use the manual way to distinguish the maturity of apples, while the way that is done by the tenega man is often inaccurate and different in its determination. The difference is due to differences in perceptions on everyone. Therefore built a tool that can make the selection of apples based on quality, especially color automatically. So that will be able to produce a more accurate grouping of apples, which further simplify the packaging process and also save time, effort and cost. Design This tool uses RGD LDR and DHT11 as sensors to read the maturity of apples. RTC 1307 is used as a timer to send data from sensor, arduino nano as microcontroller and NRF24L01 as a data transmission device between two transmitter nodes and receiving node.

Abstract

Lapindo hot mud in disaster area affected the quality of ambient air. Monitoring ambient air pollution in affected area of Lapindo hot mud performed by classifying the level of ambient air pollution. The classification also describes the impact that can occur from each category based on the level of ambient air pollution. Based on the result of testing system with samples from three affected areas of Lapindo hot mud, fuzzy output has the accuracy 84% in Siring Barat village, 93% in Mindi Village, and 95% in Jatirejo village by using methane gas, dust particle (PM10), and CO gas as parameters. Furthermore, Jatirejo village has an average index value of air quality is about 54.43 with an average methane concentration is about 4.60 ppm. Therefore, Mindi village has an average index of air quality is about 41.95 with an average methane concentration is about 2.40 ppm and Siring Barat village has an average index of air quality is about 37.00 with an average methane concentration is about 15.18 ppm. The analysis result shows the concentration of methane exceeds the threshold level even the air quality index in a safe range, It shows that the level of ambient air pollution in those three affected areas of Lapindo hot mud is in Hazardous level.

Abstract

The needs of potato each year has increased, but not offset by increased production and land area for commodity crops of potatoes. To boost production in an increasingly limited land, aeroponics techniques into one solution for farmers who have no land availability. Aeroponics potato production techniques have yields more good than conventional techniques and with the land. PH is one of the elements that greatly affect the growth of aeroponic plant. The ideal pH range for an aeroponics system ranges between 5.5-6.5. Then the system control and monitoring is required in an aeroponics techniques. In this research for controlling and monitoring the State of a pH using wireless transmission. There are six nodes that is two nodes, one node sensor Coordinator, and three nodes of the actuators. From the test results obtained by the sensor data reading of pH value of 1% error within an error reading of 0.08 degree pH. Sensor data transmission using wireless data on delivery without hitch has the accuracy of data delivery of 99.98% with one node of the sensors and 96.13% with two sensor nodes. On delivery with the hitch has the level of accuracy of the data delivery of 99.93% with one sensor nodes and of 92.99% with two sensor nodes

Abstract

Home is a place to hide and gather with family. The house also has become the basic needs of every person who is married, then have a dream home is everyone's desire. The dream house is a comfortable home to live in. In today's technological developments are very rapidly making the home function in building a dream home to increase the comfort and safety of the inhabitants of the house. In this research will be designed home controller using android smartphone with bluetooth connectivity that can control the home appliance lamp, fan and celenoid door lock with monitoring function and timer padadevice built. In this study can be done in the same way. The result of the functional testing of wireless communications can still be done in the existing space of the wall barrier and the distance of 20 meters in open space. Functional timer goes well according to the added value and how to handle it by the sensor according to the desired result.

Abstract

The efficiency of electricity usage is less concerned in our daily life. It can be seen by lots of people who wasting electricity by using electronic devices excessively. For example, people forgot to turn off their electronic devices when they leave their house, it resulted in wasted electricity usage. To resolve the problem above, The researcher would like to implement a centralized smart home system that could save electricity bills using K-Means algorithm. Inside the system that has been developed by the researcher, it will work automatically by using the result of K-Means algorithm learning process based on user behavior in using electronic devices, so it will know when the devices should be turned on or turned off. The result of K-Means algorithm learning process is an optimal schedule to turn the electronic devices on and off. Based on the optimal schedule, the system will automatically control when the electronic devices will be turned on or off, which has been tested using simulator with 100% accuracy. Moreover, the system is able to calculate the percentage of cost efficiency in electricity usage, which has been tested to six different users with the result of cost saving percentage that each user get is 7.345%, 6.554%, 4.398%, 9.62%, 12.471%, and 7.69%.

Abstract

Nowadays, there are numbers of researches on Smart Home that have been done by technicians even though they need a lot of relevant hardware and periods of time to design plan and ways of implementation for the Smart Home. Therefore, this research conducted with focus on developing Smart Home simulator based on desktop application which can improve the time and hardware needed since it enables the Smart Home to be used without utilizing lots of hardware. The system consists of two applications which are (i) Control and Monitoring application and (ii) Object Simulator application. The Control and Monitoring application provides user's information, list of object and information of rule. In this system, the method of distributed rule will be implemented to turn on and turn off the objects while the objects for this present research are PIR sensor and lamps. Rule contains patterns for which lamps that are going to on if the PIR sensor detects the human existence. This system also produces program code for PIR sensor and light nodes that aim to validate the use of distributed rules on hardware. The result of this research shows that simulator object can receive rule from Control and Monitoring application with the success rate of 100% out of 28 times rule transmissions and also can be executed with the success rate of 100% out of 28 times tests. The application can also display the program code according to the rule chosen by the user.
