Abstract

Betok fish is an economically important fish and is very popular with the community but not many people have cultivated this Betok fish. For this reason, there needs to be an innovation in aquaculture technology so that Betok fish production increases. Stimulation of the work of pituitary hormones of broiler chickens to stimulate gonad maturation in Betok fish spawning to increase production due to overfishing. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of broiler chicken pituitary extract on spawning betok fish (A. testudineus, Bloch) on latent time of ovulation, fecundity, and hatching rate. The study time for 30 days used 4 treatments 3 times, with P0 treatment: Control, P1 treatment: Broiler Chicken Pituitary Extract 0.2 ml/kg, P2 treatment: Broiler Chicken Pituitary Extract 0.4 ml/kg, and P3 treatment: Broiler Chicken Pituitary Extract 0.6 ml/kg. The results showed that treatment A. 0.2 ml / kg had a good effect on the ovulation latency time of betok fish, which was 8 hours 7 minutes, fecundity of 6618 eggs and hatchability of 94.67%. The results of water quality measurements showed that the temperature ranged from 28o-29o C, dissolved oxygen of 3.2-4.8 mg / L, pH of 7.3-7.7 and ammonia of 0.012-0.013 mg / L.

Abstract

The unusual body shape of jelawat fish fry can inhibit growth due to limited foraging movements and increases the risk of being preyed upon by healthier fry (cannibalism). This abnormality problem is usually only discovered when the seeds are around 1-2 months old. Increasing water levels can speed up the use of energy for finding food and breathing, causing more of the available energy to be used for movement rather than growth. This inhibits bone formation and body growth, causing abnormal fish growth. The aim of this research is to determine the optimal water level to increase the growth of jelawat fish seeds (L. hoevenii Blkr). This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 different Water Height Treatments (A = 15cm; B = 20cm; C = 25cm; D = 30cm), and each treatment was repeated 3 times. The results of the research showed that water level had a significant effect on the growth of jelawat fish seeds. The optimal water height is 25 cm, with an abnormality rate of 1.05%, absolute length growth reaching 3.15 cm per fish, absolute weight growth of 0.55 grams per fish, and survival rate of catfish fry reaching 99.5%.

Abstract

Jelawat fish (Leptobarbus hoevenii Blkr.) is one of the fish that is in great demand by the public. This production has problems with the body shape of fish fry which has many asymmetries and abnormalities. The cause of this cannot be ascertained, but the assumption is due to the influence of high pressure and water currents. For this reason, there needs to be clear research so that the exact cause is known. This study aims to see the fluctuations of asymmetry and abnormality in jelawat fish (L. hoeveni Blkr.) as a result of semi-intensive spawning. This research method is a sampling method on fish from semi-intensive spawning that is 2-3 cm in size. Then meristic measurements were taken and asymmetric fluctuations and abnormalities were calculated. The results of the study found that the value of number asymmetric fluctuations (FAn) ranged from 0.451 to 0. 864, while the magnitude asymmetric fluctuation (FAm) ranges from -0.044-0.053. For an abnormality of 1.05%, absolute length growth of 3.15 cm/head, absolute weight growth of 0.55 grams/head and survival rate of jellyfish larvae 99.5%.%, The results of water quality measurements were temperature range from 26-28.1oC, pH 6.7-7, dissolved oxygen of 4.7-5.3 mg/L, carbon dioxide of 5.3-8 mg/L and ammonia content in maintenance water of 0.001-0.011.

Abstract

Jelawat fish cultivation activities are still experiencing problems with low production. In order to increase the production of jelawat fish seeds during the grow-out phase, research needs to be carried out regarding the type of containers for the cultivation. This research aims to determine the best type of container for jelawat fish (Leptobarbus hoevenii) breeding regarding production performance and physiological responses. This study used a completely randomized design with four different treatments in rearing containers and three replications including aquarium (A), fiber tanks (B), concrete tanks (C) and floating net cages (D). The fish seeds used in this study were 2.76 0.15 cm long and weighed 0.17 0.17 g. During breeding process, the fish were given commercial feed with a protein content of 41% and air changes were carried out at 30% of the total air volume every 2 days. The parameters observed in this research include production performance, physiological responses, and air quality. The research results showed that different types of rearing containers had a significant effect on production performance parameters, total cholesterol, and hemoglobin. Total cholesterol and hemoglobin at the start of cultivation were 191 mg/dL and 11.6 g/dL, decreasing at the end of cultivation to 120.28-141.59 mg/dL and 9.03-12.83 g/dL. Air quality was still within the appropriate range for rearing jelawat fish seeds. Keywords:Aquariumsconcrete tanksfloating net cagestarpaulin pondsjelawat fish

Abstract

Semah fish (Tor douronensis) is one of the commodities that has the potential to be developed. Currently, the production of larvae and seeds is still very difficult to increase. The slow growth of semah fish larvae is a factor that greatly affects the amount of seed production produced. This study aims to determine the optimal density in the larval maintenance of Semah fish (Tor douronensis). The research was conducted using a Complete Random Design (RAL) environmental design with 4 (four) treatments and 3 (three) replicates, each of which was a stocking density of 3 heads/liter (A), stocking density of 6 heads/liter (B), stocking density of 9 heads/liter (C) and stocking density of 12 heads/liter (D). The fish used in this study were semah fish larvae measuring ± 1.00 cm and weighing approximately between 0.011–0.012 grams. The parameters observed in this study include abnormalities, and water quality. Based on the results of the study, the average abnormality of semah fish larvae ranges from 8.33% – 72.47%. The results of the water quality analysis of the maintenance media showed that the water quality was still in the decent range for the maintenance of semah fish larvae. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the optimal density in the maintenance of semah fish larvae (Tor douronensis) is treatment A (3 fish/liter).
