Abstract

Feed for fish is one of the main factors determining the survival of fish to achieve normal life. The feed design was prepared as a test pellet application in catfish (Clarias gariepinus B) experiments. This study aims to analyze converting palm meal and cow dung into maggot (Hermetia illucens) and its organic media as fish pellet feed. The occurrence of pellet raw materials is processed from fermentation of oil palm meal (BKS) and cow dung (KS) during the life cycle of BSF (Black Soldier Fly) fruit fly 21 days. The design used was a Complete Random Design of 4 treatments and 3 repeats, with the implementation of treatment A (BKS 100.00% : KS 00.00); B (BKS 50.00% : KS 50.00%), (BKS 75.00 % : KS 25.00%) and (BKS 00.00 % : KS 100.00%). The results of this study were variable parameters for the average weight and length of the best maggots in treatment A (0.25 g / head) and (1.54 cm), the lowest in treatment D (0.18 g / head. and 0.95 cm). Maggot biomass production was also highest in treatment A (157.33 heads/2.5 kg substrate) and lowest in treatment D (89.00 heads/2.5 kg substrate). The bioconversion value of maggot into ESE organic matter (organic substrate efficiency) was highest in treatment A (6.29%) and lowest at D (3.56%), the residual value of ESE bioconverts was highest D (56.60%) and lowest A (45.39%). The pellet production results from maggot biomass and the best organic media were treated respectively A (564.33 grams), B (486.67 grams), C (367.00 grams) and D (362.33 grams).

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of adding probiotics to feed on the growth of African catfish (C. garipenus). The study used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications, including feed without probiotics (A/control), Probiotic dose 4 ml/kg feed (B), Probiotic dose 8 ml/kg feed (C) and Probiotic dose 12 ml/kg feed (D). The test fish that will be used are African catfish seeds measuring 4.22 cm - 4.71 cm. The main test material that will be used is probitic (Lacto-Bact) in the form of flour which is dissolved in distilled water at a dose of 2% kg of feed. The containers used in this research were 12 aquariums measuring 70x40x30 cm with a water volume of 24 L. The parameters observed in this research included feed conversion ratio (FCR), absolute weight growth (PBM), absolute length growth (PPM), survival, proximate test of feed and water quality. The results of the research showed that there was a very significant development in the length and average length. The initial weight of fish at stocking ranged from 0.83-0.89 g/head and increased by 184.89%-333.88% to 2.37-3.81 g/fish. The initial average length of the test fish at the time of stocking ranged between 4.22-4.72 cm/fish and increased by 59.14% - 67.39% to 6.72 - 7.89 cm/fish. The FCR value ranges between 1.33-3.23. PBM values ranged from 1.54-2.93 g/head. PPM values range between 2.50-3.18 cm/head. The SR value ranges between 81.39% - 88.89%. The highest protein content in treatment D was 23.6015%. Feed protein for all types of feed treatment varies relatively in the range of 17.5058%-23.6015%. The results of the water quality analysis of the rearing media show that the water quality is still within the appropriate range for rearing African catfish.

Abstract

Jelawat fish cultivation activities are still experiencing problems with low production. In order to increase the production of jelawat fish seeds during the grow-out phase, research needs to be carried out regarding the type of containers for the cultivation. This research aims to determine the best type of container for jelawat fish (Leptobarbus hoevenii) breeding regarding production performance and physiological responses. This study used a completely randomized design with four different treatments in rearing containers and three replications including aquarium (A), fiber tanks (B), concrete tanks (C) and floating net cages (D). The fish seeds used in this study were 2.76 0.15 cm long and weighed 0.17 0.17 g. During breeding process, the fish were given commercial feed with a protein content of 41% and air changes were carried out at 30% of the total air volume every 2 days. The parameters observed in this research include production performance, physiological responses, and air quality. The research results showed that different types of rearing containers had a significant effect on production performance parameters, total cholesterol, and hemoglobin. Total cholesterol and hemoglobin at the start of cultivation were 191 mg/dL and 11.6 g/dL, decreasing at the end of cultivation to 120.28-141.59 mg/dL and 9.03-12.83 g/dL. Air quality was still within the appropriate range for rearing jelawat fish seeds. Keywords:Aquariumsconcrete tanksfloating net cagestarpaulin pondsjelawat fish

Abstract

Produksi ikan lele selama selama 96 hari menghasilkan laju pertumbuhan harian sebesar 3.96 %/hari, pertumbuhan berat mutlak 122 g, tingkat kelangsungan hidup 91% dan jumlah produksi akhir ikan lele 443.63 kg. Kesimpulan pengabdian bahwa skill berwirausaha santri mengalami peningkatan cukup tinggi, sebelum pengabdian skill berwirausaha sebesar 12% dan meningkat setelah pengabdian dilakukan menjadi 78.57%.
