Abstract

Sling bearings are one of the important components in the cable car transportation system. These bearings function to support the weight of the cable car and reduce friction between the train and the rail/sling so that the train can move smoothly and safely. To produce quality sling bearings, a precise and accurate machining process is required. The manufacturing process of ropeway sling bearings goes through a machining process, where raw materials that are usually metals or metal alloys will be cut, shaped, and polished to form the desired bearing shape. Fixture machining is one of the most commonly used techniques in the machining process, where the workpiece is clamped or fastened to a specially designed fixture so that the workpiece remains stable during the machining process. The purpose of this engineering is to produce a fixture design for sling bearing components with increased quantity and quality of products on CNC machines by validating the design through simulation. In this study, tests were conducted using a conventional machining fixture and a machining fixture equipped with a pneumatic system. The test results show that the machining fixture equipped with a pneumatic system is able to increase the production speed and efficiency of cable car sling bearings by up to 20% compared to the conventional fixture. This research makes an important contribution to the cable car sling bearing manufacturing industry in improving production efficiency and final product quality. In addition, this research can also be a reference for further research on the optimization of the cable car sling bearing production process.

Abstract

XYZ Company is a company in the manufacturing sector of precast concrete production, ready-to-use concrete products to meet the needs of the construction industry. The problem in this company is that there are still many defects that occur in the concrete produced. The purpose of this study is to find out what defects occur in concrete blocks, analyze the causes of their occurrence and make repair suggestions. This study uses the seven basic tools method to analyze the types of defects and the causes of defects in concrete blocks, and the FMEA method to make repair recommendations with the cause of defects from the highest RPN value. Based on the results of data processing, there are several defects that occur in concrete blocks, namely: porous, small cracks, non-angled products, non-uniform colors, bubbles, dimensions, gripis, and hairline cracks. From the Fishbone results, there are 18 indicators of the causes of the three defects, from the 18 causes of defects, the RPN value is then determined with the highest RPN value of 168, namely dirty, leaking, and less tight mold indicators..

Abstract

PT. Papertech is a company engaged in manufacturing that produces core board type paper. The process of making core boards is a continuous process where every day the company always produces coreboards that are not just one type of core board. Given these problems, one way to minimize defective product rosters is to use the six sigma method analysis and failure mode and effect analysis. Research analysis using the six sigma method goes through several stages, namely the Define stage, which defines a general picture regarding the influence of the process on customer service. Meanwhile, at the Measure stage, namely Critical To Quality, Control Map and DPMO and sigma calculations for the 3 highest causes of defects, namely low plybond, low gsm, low cobb. The DPMO value in November 2023 is 450000 with a sigma value of 1.626, December 2023 is 422535 with a sigma value of 1.695, January 2024 is 474934 with a sigma value of 1.563, February 2024 is 560000 with a sigma value 1,349, March in 2024 it will be 540,000 with a sigma value of 1,400. The Analyze stage is to determine the main cause of the defect using fishbone. The Improve stage is to make improvements using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) according to the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) value level of 540 for material, 189 for machine, 540 for human and 61 for method. The Control stage is documenting the quality improvement results stage

Abstract

The success of a production process is highly dependent on effective quality control. In this study, the focus is directed toward Pc Slab Type A products manufactured by PT. XYZ, a precast concrete company for highways and building structures. The evaluation emphasizes efforts to reduce chipping defects. Improvement priorities were determined using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method based on the Risk Priority Number (RPN). Root Cause Analysis (RCA) was applied to identify the underlying problems. The analysis revealed that the dominant factor comes from the human aspect, with the highest RPN value of 294, namely the lack of regular supervision. Additional contributing factors include improper mold opening methods (RPN 216), inconsistent worker performance (RPN 175), inter-division transfers (RPN 125), and delayed maintenance schedules (RPN 120). All causes were elaborated using the 5W+1H approach, covering reasons, locations, timing, implementation, and proposed corrective actions.

Abstract

The transformation of Human Resources (HR) risk management in higher education is becoming increasingly crucial in facing the dynamics of changes in education policy in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze how higher education institutions implement an adaptive approach in managing HR risk in order to improve organizational effectiveness and institutional competitiveness. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach and comparative analysis of several higher education institutions in Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that the success of HR risk management is highly dependent on policy flexibility, investment in improving the competence of educators, the implementation of a transparent evaluation system, and attention to the welfare of educators. Higher education institutions that implement an adaptive HR risk management model are proven to be better prepared in facing policy changes and are able to develop into more competitive educational institutions. Therefore, this study recommends the formulation of more flexible and data-based policies to improve the resilience and innovation of higher education institutions in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the implementation of smart city innovations in West Bandung Regency in 2024, utilizing a fuzzy logic-based approach. Unlike previous research, which relied on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model, this study employs fuzzy logic techniques to evaluate user satisfaction with 37 prioritized innovative city applications. Fuzzy logic is selected for its capability to process qualitative and subjective data, enabling a more adaptive assessment of user perceptions. Data were gathered through structured questionnaires and in-depth interviews with public service employees, who are the primary users of these digital platforms. Evaluation dimensions—including ease of use, perceived benefits, social influence, and facility availability—were translated into fuzzy sets and analyzed through a Mamdani fuzzy inference system to derive comprehensive satisfaction scores. The results reveal that the “Smart Branding: Visit KBB” and “BA QRIS” applications achieved the highest satisfaction levels, particularly in terms of usability and infrastructure support. The study offers fuzzy logic-based recommendations to enhance the effectiveness, acceptance, and strategic development of smart city innovations. It also proposes an alternative, more responsive evaluation method for policy-making in the context of digital governance.
