Abstract

The threat of an earthquake can occur anytime and anywhere. In 2018 the island of Lombok was shaken by an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 on the Richter scale at a depth of 15 km. One of the areas that were quite badly affected by the quake was Sekotong District, Buwun Mas Village, and West Lombok Regency. Records of damage to the local village government show that 45% of residents' houses were heavily damaged, 30% were moderately damaged, and 2% were lightly damaged. This service aims to provide education and training on the construction of earthquake-resistant houses based on the latest SNI seismic regulations for Buwun Mas Village builders to reduce risk due to earthquakes. The method used is to provide counseling and training to the masons and chief masons in the village of Buwun Mas. This activity was held on Saturday, 4 June 2022, and ran smoothly and in an orderly manner; during the implementation of the community service activities, the partners, in this case, the Buwun Mas Village government, the leaders and occupants of the Zainul Hafidz At-Taufiq Islamic Boarding School and the builders in Buwun Mas Village were very enthusiastically participated in counseling and training activities on earthquake resistant housing construction. This can be seen from the total number of participants reaching 54 people. This counseling and training activity is only for education and to increase the knowledge of the artisans in the village of Buwun Mas, Sekotong District.

Abstract

Sama Guna Village is a burning village, according to North Lombok Regent Regulation Number 12 of 2015 and the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara Number 100/897/PEM. Sama Guna Village has obtained its operational rights to run the wheels of its organization. However, infrastructure facilities are still relatively minimal, as the office currently occupied is still on loan. The purpose of this service is to provide knowledge in making the budget plan required for the construction of the Sama Guna Village Office in accordance with PUPR Ministerial Regulation No. 1 of 2022. The method used is the presentation and discussion of PowerPoint slide media, which is then followed by assistance in making RAB. The activity took place on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, from 9.30 to 13.00 WITA, according to the agreement with the Head of the Sama Guna Village, in the meeting hall of the Sama Guna Village Office. This activity ran smoothly and in an orderly manner. During the implementation of the activity, the participants were very enthusiastic about participating in the activity; this was seen from the total number of participants, which reached more than 25 and was attended by the village head, devices, Babinsa, and the local community.

Abstract

TNI AU Rembiga intersection is a three-way link between the central point of Mataram city, which is also connected to the Rembiga intersection and the Dakota intersection, Rembiga. Dr. Wahidin street is an economic pathway for education, offices, and trade. At certain times, the traffic flow is very congested because the road is also the direction to West Lombok district. Based on observations at the research location, it was found that the distance between the Rembiga intersection and the TNI AU intersection was 322.8 meters which caused the movement of traffic flow to be less than optimal between the intersection distances so that it would affect performance at TNI AU intersection. For this reason, the purpose of this study was to examine the performance of the unsignalized intersection at the TNI AU Rembiga intersection due to the continued flow from the Rembiga intersection which is a signalized intersection due to a one-way system engineering carried out on the Dr. Wahidin street and before the implementation of the one-way system on the Dr. Wahidin street. This research was conducted with reference to the MKJI 1997, in which researchers conducted field observations, then collected primary data and secondary data. There is traffic flow engineering on Dr. Wahidin street, by creating a one-way system, had an impact on changing the performance of the unsignalized intersection at the TNI AU intersection to a level of service F with obstructed flow conditions, low speed whereas, before the implementation of the one-way system the level of service was E with stable flow conditions, stalled vehicles.

Abstract

Samota Bridge is a bridge crossing the Brang Biji River in Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. Samota Bridge will be redesigned using prestressed concrete with a type of PC I Girder with a span of 80 m and a width of 11 m. The bridge analysis standards used are loading standards for bridges (SNI 1725: 2016) and bridge planning standards against earthquake loads (SNI 2833: 2016). The loading analyzed is the analysis of own load, dead load, additional dead load, temperature influence, shrinkage and creep influence, brake force, earthquake load, wind load, prestress loss analysis, deflection and moment. Then, the reinforcement calculation is carried out on the PC I-Girder to the bridge elastomer planning. The results of the redesigned of the Samota Bridge with a span of 80 m (40+40) obtained the optimum height of the PC I-Girder needed is 2.10 m consisting of 4 tendons 2 on the left and 2 on the right with 12 strands in each tendon. The strands diameter is 15.24 mm and the duct diameter is 85 mm. The dead load (MS) received by PC- I Girder is 636,777.60 kg.m, the additional dead load (MA) received is 59,153.04 kg.m, 406,980 kg.m for "D" lane load, 8,183.25 kg.m for brake force, 3,003.25 kg.m for wind load and 179,378.73 kg.m for earthquake load. The total prestress loss due to anchor friction, friction in the cable, due to creep and shrinkage, relaxation and elastic shortening of concrete was 2,965.79 kN with a prestress loss percentage of 29.63%.

Abstract

Abstrak Dusun Lembar RT 02 Lanal, Desa Lembar, Kecamatan Lembar, Kabupaten Lombok Barat merupakan wilayah yang memiliki potensi risiko tanah longsor, namun kesadaran dan kesiapsiagaan masyarakat dalam menghadapi bencana masih rendah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap mitigasi bencana tanah longsor sebagai bentuk kesiapsiagaan dalam membentuk Desa Siaga Bencana. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 26 Mei 2025 secara tatap muka di Aula Kantor Desa Lembar, diikuti oleh 33 peserta yang terdiri dari warga dan perangkat desa. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan berbasis community development yang mencakup presentasi materi, diskusi interaktif, serta pre-test dan post-test. Tahapan kegiatan terdiri dari persiapan (survei lokasi, perizinan, penyusunan materi, dan logistik), pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta dengan rata-rata selisih skor pre-test dan post-test sebesar 14%, dengan peningkatan tertinggi pada aspek pengetahuan pascabencana (18%). Evaluasi kepuasan peserta menunjukkan tingkat penerimaan yang sangat baik dengan skor rata-rata 88,6%, mencerminkan bahwa materi dinilai relevan, mudah dipahami, dan aplikatif. Sebagian besar peserta juga menyatakan kesiapan untuk mengikuti pelatihan lanjutan dan terlibat aktif dalam program Desa Siaga Bencana. Kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi positif dalam membangun kapasitas lokal masyarakat terhadap kesiapsiagaan bencana berbasis partisipasi. Kata kunci: mitigasi bencana; tanah longsor; kesiapsiagaan masyarakat; desa siaga bencana; penyuluhan. Abstract Dusun Lembar RT 02 Lanal, located in Lembar Village, Lembar Subdistrict, West Lombok Regency, is an area with potential landslide risk; however, public awareness and preparedness for disaster response remain low. This community service activity aims to enhance public understanding and awareness of landslide disaster mitigation as a form of preparedness in establishing a Disaster-Ready Village. The activity was conducted face-to-face on May 26, 2025, at the Lembar Village Hall, involving 33 participants consisting of residents and village officials. The method used was a community development-based outreach including presentations, interactive discussions, and pre- and post-test assessments. The activity was carried out in three stages: preparation (survey, permissions, material development, logistics), implementation, and evaluation. Results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge, with an average pre- to post-test score difference of 14%, and the highest gain in post-disaster knowledge (18%). Participant satisfaction indicated a high level of acceptance, with an average score of 88.6%, reflecting that the materials were relevant, easy to understand, and applicable. Most participants expressed willingness to attend further training and engage in the Disaster-Ready Village program. This activity contributed positively to building community capacity for disaster preparedness through participatory approaches.Keywords: disaster mitigation; landslides; community preparedness; disaster-ready village; outreach.

Abstract

The behavior of regular and irregular building structures in resisting earthquake loads will certainly be different, so structural modeling must be done in such a way as to form a safe structure. The building in this study is L-shaped with an area of 2079.52 m2 with 6 floors and 28 m of total height. Earthquake load modeling in this study uses the equivalent static analysis method and design spectrum response about SNI concrete 2847-2019 and SNI earthquake 1726-2019. This study aims to investigate the behavior of multilevel reinforced concrete structures that experience horizontal and vertical irregularities due to earthquake loads as seen from the displacement and drift ratios that occurs is based on the results of numerical analysis. Based on the results of research on the geometry of the structure with vertical irregularities, it shows that the structure does not have Type 1a, Type 1b, Type 2, Type 3, Type 4, Type 5a and Type 5b irregularities. Thus the structure can be planned without considering the requirements to satisfy vertical irregularities. The geometry of the structure with horizontal irregularities shows that the structure has no irregularities in Type 1a, Type 1b, Type 3, Type 4 and Type 5. Meanwhile in Type 2 the structure is stated to have irregular inside angles, so the design force of the diaphragm on the structure must be increased by 25% at the planning stage.

Abstract

AbstrakKegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan sebagai upaya meningkatkan pemahaman dan perilaku berkendara aman pada kelompok pemuda desa melalui edukasi keselamatan lalu lintas berbasis rambu lalu lintas dan marka jalan. Latar belakang kegiatan didasarkan pada masih rendahnya literasi keselamatan berkendara pada pengguna jalan usia muda yang aktif menggunakan kendaraan bermotor, khususnya di lingkungan perdesaan. Kegiatan bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman anggota DKM Karang Taruna Desa Perampuan, Kecamatan Labuapi terhadap fungsi rambu lalu lintas, marka jalan, dan prinsip perilaku berkendara aman. Mitra sasaran kegiatan adalah 15 anggota aktif Karang Taruna yang terlibat dalam kegiatan sosial masyarakat desa. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan sosialisasi edukatif partisipatif melalui ceramah interaktif, diskusi, simulasi visual, observasi lapangan, serta evaluasi pre-test dan post-test. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta, dengan nilai rata-rata pre-test sebesar 47,3 meningkat menjadi 87,14 pada post-test atau mengalami peningkatan sebesar 39,81 poin. Secara kualitatif, peserta menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran terhadap pentingnya kepatuhan terhadap rambu lalu lintas dan marka jalan dalam aktivitas berkendara sehari-hari. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa edukasi keselamatan lalu lintas berbasis komunitas efektif diterapkan sebagai model penguatan perilaku berkendara aman di wilayah perdesaan. Kata kunci: perilaku berkendara aman; rambu lalu lintas; marka jalan; karang taruna. AbstractThis community service activity was conducted to improve safe riding understanding and behavior among rural youth through traffic safety education based on traffic signs and road markings. The activity was initiated due to the low level of road safety literacy among young road users who actively use motor vehicles, particularly in rural areas. The program aimed to improve the understanding of members of DKM Karang Taruna in Perampuan Village, Labuapi District, regarding the function of traffic signs, road markings, and safe riding principles. The target participants consisted of 15 active youth members involved in village social activities. The implementation method applied a participatory educational approach through interactive lectures, discussions, visual simulations, field observation, and pre-test and post-test evaluation. The results showed a significant increase in participant knowledge, with the average pre-test score rising from 47.3 to 87.14 in the post-test, indicating an increase of 39.81 points. Qualitatively, participants demonstrated improved awareness of the importance of complying with traffic signs and road markings in daily riding activities. This activity indicates that community-based traffic safety education is effective as a model for strengthening safe riding behavior in rural areas. Keywords: safe riding behavior; traffic signs; road markings; youth community.

Abstract

Abstrak Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi kimia lingkungan pada pekerja tambang batuan terkait bahaya paparan debu mineral. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Desa Perampuan dengan melibatkan 17 peserta yang dipilih secara purposive berdasarkan tingkat keterlibatan dalam aktivitas penambangan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif berbasis edukasi kontekstual melalui tahapan persiapan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan edukasi dilakukan melalui penyuluhan interaktif dan diskusi partisipatif yang disertai dengan arahan penggunaan masker sebagai upaya sederhana dalam mengurangi paparan debu. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan desain one-group pre-test post-test dan dianalisis menggunakan indeks N-Gain. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor rata-rata peserta dari pre-test ke post-test dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,65 yang termasuk kategori sedang. Secara kualitatif, peserta menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan kesadaran terhadap bahaya debu mineral serta pentingnya penggunaan masker saat bekerja. Dengan demikian, kegiatan edukasi yang dilakukan terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi kimia lingkungan dan mendorong perubahan perilaku menuju praktik kerja yang lebih aman. Kata kunci: literasi kimia lingkungan; debu mineral; N-Gain; edukasi kontekstual. Abstract This community service activity aimed to improve environmental chemistry literacy among stone mining workers regarding the hazards of mineral dust exposure. The activity was conducted in Perampuan Village involving 17 participants selected purposively based on their involvement in mining activities. The method used was a participatory approach based on contextual education through preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. Educational activities were carried out through interactive lectures and participatory discussions accompanied by guidance on mask usage as a simple measure to reduce dust exposure. Evaluation was conducted using a one-group pre-test post-test design and analyzed using the N-Gain index. The results showed an increase in participants’ average scores from pre-test to post-test with an N-Gain value of 0.65, categorized as moderate. Qualitatively, participants demonstrated improved understanding and awareness of mineral dust hazards and the importance of wearing masks during work. Therefore, the educational activity was effective in improving environmental chemistry literacy and encouraging safer work practices. Keywords: environmental chemistry literacy; mineral dust; N-Gain; contextual education.

Abstract

Ring of Fire and at the intersection of three tectonic plates. Efforts are needed to minimize earthquake damage, one of which is the use of a base isolator system. This study aims to determine the effect of using High Damping Rubber Bearing (HDRB) with a diameter of 800 mm on the behavior of reinforced concrete structures in tall buildings under seismic loads. The research location is the 7-story Sapadia Hotel building in the city of Mataram. The research is conducted by analyzing a 3D model of the fixed base structure and the base isolator structure using numerical analysis. The results show an increase in the base displacement of the base isolator structure by 59% in the x-direction and 44% in the y-direction, while the inter-story displacement decreases by 36% in the x-direction and 69% in the y-direction. The use of base isolators can reduce the shear force by 35% in the x-direction and 15% in the y-direction. Based on the pushover analysis, the roof displacement values for the fixed base and base isolator structures are 0.159 m and 0.129 m respectively. These values can be used to determine the structural performance level according to ATC-40. The maximum drift value for the fixed base structure is 0.0055 m. For the base isolator structure, the maximum drift value is 0.0044 m, categorized as Immediate Occupancy (IO). This value can be used to determine the performance level of the structure based on ATC-40. The maximum drift value of the fixed base structure is 0.0055m. While in the base isolator structure, the maximum drift value is 0.0044 m which is included in Immediate Occupancy (IO). Thus, the use of base isolators in high-level buildings is able to reduce post-earthquake damage and the building is still safe to continue using.

Abstract

Concrete is a common construction material whose quality depends on parameters such as compressive strength and split tensile strength. To reduce the environmental impact of river sand use, this study evaluates the use of sea sand as a partial replacement for fine Aggregate. Although sea sand contains salt, special treatment can reduce its salt content and is expected to improve the quality of high-grade concrete. The objectives of this study were to assess the impact of sea sand on the mechanical strength of concrete and to determine the optimum percentage of sea sand in high-quality concrete mixtures. This study used compressive strength, split tensile strength, and shear strength testing methods with variations in sea sand content in concrete mixtures of 0%, 25%, 50%, and 100%. The tests were conducted using a Compression Testing Machine (CTM). The results showed that using sea sand reduced the mechanical strength of concrete. Compressive strength decreased from 43.09 MPa to 29.91 MPa, splitting tensile strength decreased from 4.23 MPa to 1.21 MPa, and shear strength decreased from 10.23 MPa to 5.97 MPa with an increase in the percentage of sea sand. Therefore, it can be concluded that although sea sand can be used, its use in large quantities reduces the mechanical strength of concrete. The optimum percentage must be adjusted to balance sustainability and structural strength.
