Abstract

Internet using in Indonesia has a rapid increase and encourages the misuse of internet using at a workplace named cyberloafing behavior. Work boredom is one important factor to increase cyberloafing behavior. This study was aimed to determine the job boredom role as a predictor employee?s cyberloafing behavior. This research used a quantitative approach. Questionnaires used to collect data about job boredom and cyberloafing behavior and analyzed by a simple regression method. The subjects are 114 administrative employees using a cluster sampling method. The analysis result showed a significance value (p<0, 05), it means the hypothesis from this research accepted, job boredom has a role as a predictor of cyberloafing behavior on X university?s employee. The data result explained job boredom gives influential contribution as much as 11, 1% towards cyberloafing behavior. The study showed that job boredom as a significant variable for predicting employee?s cyberloafing behavior.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil penilaian wawancara kerja antara kandidat yang diwawancarai dengan teknik situational dengan behavioral. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain between subject yang mana terdapat dua kelompok dan mendapatkan perlakuan yang berbeda. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada 110 partisipan mahasiswa psikologi Universitas Brawijaya yang telah lulus mata kuliah Psikodiagnostik III (Wawancara). Partisipan dalam eksperimen ini mendapat dua perlakuan, yaitu diberi tontonan video wawancara dengan kandidat yang diwawancarai menggunakan teknik wawancara situational dan video wawancara dengan kandidat yang diwawancarai menggunakan teknik wawancara behavioral. Setelah menonton video, partisipan diminta untuk memberi penilaian terhadap kandidat tersebut. Hasil analisis statistik menggunakan teknik independent sample t-test menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil penilaian wawancara kandidat yang diwawancarai dengan teknik wawancara situational dan behavioral, di mana kandidat yang diwawancara dengan teknik situational memperoleh penilaian lebih rendah secara signifikan daripada kandidat yang diwawancarai dengan teknik behavioral (F=0.001, P<0.05).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara burnout dan work-life balance pada dosen wanita. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah dosen yang mengajar di Universitas Negeri di Kota Malang. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah quota sampling dengan komposisi 14 orang dari Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim, 40 orang dari Universitas Negeri Malang, dan 44 orang dari Universitas Brawijaya. Data diperoleh melalui dua alat ukur, yaitu skala burnout yang disusun oleh Kusuma (2013) berdasarkan teori Greenberg (2002) dan skala work-life balance dari Fisher, Bulger, & Smith (2009) yang telah ditransadaptasi oleh Silviandari, dkk (2014). Hasil analisis memperlihatkan nilai koefisien korelasinya adalah (r) -0.563 dengan p = 0.000 yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara kedua variabel yang bersifat negatif dan berada pada rentang sedang. Hal ini berarti semakin tinggi nilai burnout maka semakin rendah nilai work-life balance. Begitu pula sebaliknya semakin rendah nilai burnout maka semakin tinggi nilai work-life balance.

Abstract

Many studies has been conducted to investigate the relationship between two main domains in work performance. However, theoretical debates and discrepancies in empirical findings related to organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and counterproductive work behavior (CWB) constructs have led researchers in industrial and organizational psychology to develop and reexamine similar studies in order to establish a more firmly connected view of OCB and CWB correlations and the existence of both constructs as a separated construct instead of a single continuum. This study aimed to investigate the strength of the relationship between OCB and CWB through a meta-analysis, namely bare bones meta-analysis. A total of 16 research articles and 32 research data were selected and used in this study. The results showed that corrected correlations between OCB and CWB from cross country samples and across professions was -0.3. The result leads to the conclusion that there is a significant negative correlation between OCB and CWB, and this is consistent with previous meta-analysis studies.Penelitian yang menyelidiki hubungan antara dua domain utama dalam performa kerja telah banyak dilakukan, namun perdebatan teoritis dan perbedaan hasil temuan empiris terkait konstrak OCB dan CWB membuat sebagian peneliti dalam psikologi industri dan organisasi terus mengembangkan dan menguji kembali penelitian serupa untuk mengukuhkan pandangan yang lebih teguh terkait korelasi OCB dan CWB, serta keberadaan kedua konstrak tersebut sebagai dua konstrak yang berbeda dan terpisah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki kekuatan hubungan antara OCB dan CWB melalui teknik bare bones meta-analysis. Sebanyak 16 artikel penelitian dan 32 data penelitian telah terseleksi dan dinyatakan dapat digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa korelasi yang telah dikoreksi antara OCB dengan CWB dari sampel lintas negara, lintas profesi yaitu sebesar -0.3. Hasil ini membawa pada kesimpulan adanya korelasi negatif yang signifikan antara OCB dengan CWB dan ini selaras dengan kajian-kajian studi meta-analisis yang pernah dilakukan pada sebelumnya.

Abstract

This paper explores the factors contributing to tax non-compliance in Indonesia by examining its psycho-historical context through a chronological literature review. By analyzing multiple written sources, the researchers outlined the historical progression of taxation in a systematic order. Specific terms associated with different types of taxation, such as tribute, head tax, and land rent tax, are utilized to dissect the essence of taxes within the broader economic and social historical framework. Investigating the evolution of taxation from the era of kingdoms to the present revealed how public perceptions of taxes have changed over time—viewed at various points as coerced tribute, extortion, national contribution, corruption, and a duty-bound obligation. These shifting perceptions reflect the deep-rooted psychological significance of taxation within Indonesian society. The study suggests capitalizing on these historical viewpoints, both positive and negative, to enhance tax compliance strategies. By gaining insights into these foundational attitudes regarding taxation, the paper advocates for further empirical research to refine tax representation and improve governance. This approach seeks to develop a nuanced strategy in tax policy, highlighting the importance of aligning with the historical and psychological context of the Indonesian population.Top of Form Bottom of Form

Abstract

The number of higher education graduates entering the industrial workforce has declined. One of the factors influencing this issue is the low level of work readiness among university graduates. Work readiness is considered an important aspect that can contribute to increasing the absorption of graduates into the workforce. The low work readiness of university graduates needs to be addressed to prepare students to enter the job market in line with industry demands. This study aims to identify the relationship between career readiness and work readiness among final-year students. The subjects in this study were 90 final-year students from various majors. The study used a correlational quantitative approach, employing career and work readiness scales. The results of this study indicate that the hypothesis is accepted: career readiness is related to work readiness among final-year students (r = 0.590, p = 0.001, p < 0.05). The higher an individual's capacity to prepare for their career, the higher their work readiness. These findings suggest that forming a clear picture of one's career can be important in preparing to face the world of work.Keywords:Career readiness; college student; correlational analysis; work readiness
