Abstract

During storage, areca seed may be attacked by pest. These pests will eat areca seed by perforating it, then ultimately cause the level of quantity and quality decrease. One variety of the pest that attack areca seed called Lasioderma serricorne. To control the pest on areca seed can be done by Fumigation : The Fumigation which should be done in this case is Phospine (PH3). The purpose the experiment is to find out the response of Lasioderma serricorne  that is given Phospine in tablet and bags form on areca seed, Which is done by using Competly  Randomized Design (CRD)  with on factor of Fumigation, Phospine, consist of seven levels of treatment. The conclution is,  there is no difference of giving phospine tablet and bags toward the behavior and mortality of  Lasioderma serricorne , and fumigation of areca seed in low dosage, 0.25 grams/0.816 m3 or equivalent of 3 grams/m3 has been very effectif for destroying Lasioderma serricorneKey Word : Pest , Lasioderma serricorne  , Phospine

Abstract

Arrangement of planting spacing with a certain density aims to give a plant area for each grow well. Planting spacing will affect its density and efficiency useness of light, water and nutrients using competition among the plants so finally it will affect its production. This study purposed  to determine the productivity of cocoa plants at different planting space. The research had been carried out in the community cocoa farming in Betung Village, Kumpeh Muaro Jambi District, Jambi Province, in March - April 2019. Cacao on Ten-year-old Lindak varieties were planted in a farm with plant spacing in  long and wide as 4,2 x 4,5 m (L1) and 5,5 x 6,0 m (L2). Systematic sampling method was applied and the observed variables were wet and dry seed weight, productivity, plant height, soil acidity, air temperature and humidity. The results showed that cocoa  planted in  long and wide as  5,5 x 6,0 m (L2)  gave better on both wet seed produced and dry beans productivity than those planted at  4,2 x 4,5 m (L1). The air humidity at 4,2 x  4,5 m (L1) was higher than in 5,5 x  6,0 m (L2).Keywords: cocoa, spacing, productivity AbstrakPengaturan jarak tanam dengan kepadatan tertentu bertujuan memberi ruang tumbuh pada tiap-tiap tanaman agar tumbuh dengan baik. Jarak tanam akan mempengaruhi kepadatan dan efisiensi penggunaan cahaya, persaingan diantara tanaman dalam penggunaan air dan unsur hara sehingga akan mempengaruhi produksi tanaman. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui  produktivitas tanaman kakao pada jarak tanam yang berbeda. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di kebun kakao rakyat Desa Betung Kecamatan Kumpeh Muaro Jambi Provinsi Jambi, pada bulan Maret – April 2019. Tanaman kakao Varietas Lindak berumur sepuluh tahun yang ditanam pada kebun dengan jarak tanam P 4,2 x L 4,5 m (L1) dan P 5,5 x L 6,0 m  (L2). Metode pengambilan sampel Systematic Sampling dan peubah yang diamati adalah, berat biji basah, berat biji kering, produktivitas, tinggi tanaman, pH tanah, suhu dan kelembaban udara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tanaman kakao yang ditanam dengan jarak P 5,5 x L 6,0 m (L2) menghasilkan produksi biji basah dan biji kering serta produktivitas yang lebih baik bila dibandingkan dengan  yang ditanam pada jarak P 4.2 x L 4.5 m (L1).  Kelembaban udara pada P 4.2 x L 4.5 m (L1) lebih tinggi dari pada (P 5.5 x L 6,0 m (L2).Kata kunci : kakao, jarak tanam, produktivitas

Abstract

Upaya percepatan pengembangan perkebunan sawit rakyat salah satunya adalah peremajaan pada tanaman yang sudah tua, yang dilakukan melalui dua sistem  yaitu sistem penanaman sisipan dan sistem penanaman tumbang total. Pola pertanaman ini membentuk ekosistem yang berbeda dan akan mempengaruhi keberadaan serangga hama. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni sampai dengan bulan Agustus 2017  di areal penanaman sisipan dan tumbang total kelapa sawit masing-masing seluas 1 ha, di Desa Panca Mulya Kecamatan Sungai Bahar Tengah Kabupaten Muaro Jambi Provinsi Jambi. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan observasi dengan pengamatan secara langsung di lapangan. Lokasi pengambilan sampel ditentukan menggunakan metode sampling acak terpilih. Jumlah dan keragaman jenis serangga yang tertangkap pada sistem penanaman tumbang total ditemukan 11 Spesies dengan jumlah 128 ekor, yang paling banyak kupu kupu coklat 56 ekor, dan yang paling sedikit laba laba 3 ekor. Pada Penanaman sisipan ditemukan 8 spesies dengan jumlah 24 ekor, yang paling banyak jangkrik 14 ekor, paling sedikit lipas 1 ekor. Serangga yang berada pada kebun sawit yang diremajakan melalui sistem  tumbang total lebih beragam dibandingkan dengan kebun sawit yang diremajakan melalui sistem sisipan.Kata kunci : Keragaman serangga, tumbang total, sisipan

Abstract

AbstractHypothenemus hampei is one of the main causes of the decrease in production and quality of coffee. The fenomena of this damage can be indicted by dwarfing fruit color changing to a reddish yellow, and finally the fall resulted in a decrease in the quantity and quality of production. This production loss was affected by the attack level of coffe pest. Symptoms of coffe pest attack (PBKo) can be identicated by its attacting form where PBKo can destroy both the unripe and ripe coffe. This research aims to know the relationship attacks Percentage the production loss due to the pest attack. Hypothenemus hampei Ferr. (Coleoptera: Scolytidae) in Betara subdistrict of Tanjung Jabung Barat regency. This research has been conducted in July–August 2016. This research using survey method with linear regression analysis i.e. regression between the percentage of attacks and the percentage of production loss. The attack percentage of PBKo pests in the Parit Panglong Betara village range between 8.20 – 17.76%. The percentage highest production loss results on red skin color coffee 7.11% and low on coffee colored skin green beans 3.95%. The percentage of PBKo pest attack had not showed a very strong relationship with the level of production loss. Keywords: Hypothenemus hampei, coffee AbstrakHypothenemus hampei merupakan salah satu penyebab utama penurunan produksi dan mutu kopi. Kerusakan yang ditimbulkannya berupa buah menjadi tidak berkembang, berubah warna menjadi kuning kemerahan dan akhirnya gugur mengakibatkan penurunan jumlah dan mutu hasil. Kehilangan hasil dipengaruhi oleh tingkat serangan hama penggerek buah kopi. Gejala serangan hama penggerek buah kopi (PBKo) dapat diketahui dari bentuk  serangan dimana PBKo dapat menggerek buah kopi yang masih muda sampai dengan yang masak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan Persentase serangan dengan dugaan kehilangan hasil akibat serangan hama penggerek buah kopi Hypothenemus hampei Ferr.(Coleoptera:Scolytidae) di Kecamatan Betara Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli–Agustus 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan analisis regresi linier yaitu regresi antara persentase serangan dengan persentase kehilangan hasil. Persentase serangan hama PBKo di Desa Parit Panglong Betara berkisar antara 8,20 – 17,76 %. Persentase kehilangan hasil yang tertinggi didapatkan pada kopi yang warna kulit merah 7,11 % dan terendah pada kopi  yang berwarna kulit biji hijau 3,95 %.  Persentase serangan hama PBKo tidak memperlihatkan hubungan yang kuat dengan tingkat kehilangan hasil Kata kunci : Hypothenemus hampei, kopi

Abstract

Abstract            This research was conducted at Jl. Lintas Jambi - Muaro Bulian Kel. Pijoan Kec. Jaluko Kab. Muaro Jambi, which lasted for 3 months. This study aims to determine the response of oil palm seedlings (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) of multi embryo origin in the main breeding.             Oil palm seedlings used type Multi Embrio that has been 4.5 months. The medium used is black soil, fertilizer npk brand Lao Ying (16:16:16) and polybag size 5 kg. The design used in this study was Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with the treatment of npk laoying time with 4 treatment levels F1 5 days 2.5 g, F2 10 days 5.0 g, F3 15 days 7.5 g, F4 20 day 10 g. Each treatment was repeated 4 times, so there were 16 units of experimental unit, each plot consisting of 3 oil palm seedlings, bringing the total of 48 polybags. Each plot was taken 2 plants used as sample. The parameters observed were seed height (cm), stem diameter (mm), dry weight of crown (g), root dry weight (g), and quality index (IK).             Based on the research objectives, the results and discussion, it can be concluded that the NPK (16:16:16) with the frequency of different feeding time on oil palm seed planting medium gives no significant effect on plant height and stem diameter but significantly different to the weight dried canopy, root dry weight and seed quality index of multi-embryo palm oil. The F1 treatment also gives the highest index value of quality (IK) indicating that the seedlings are most ready to be transported. Abstrak            Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Jl. Lintas Jambi – Muaro Bulian Kel. Pijoan Kec. Jaluko Kab. Muaro Jambi, yang berlangsung selama 3 bulan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon bibit kelapa sawit ( Elaeis guineensis Jacq ) asal multi embrio di pembibitan utama.             Bibit kelapa sawit yang digunakan jenis Multi Embrio yang telah berumur 4,5 bulan. Media yang digunakan adalah tanah hitam, pupuk npk merk Lao Ying (16:16:16) dan polybag ukuran 5 kg. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan frekuensi waktu pemberian npk lao ying dengan 4 taraf perlakuan F1 5 hari 2,5 g, F2 10 hari 5,0 g, F3 15 hari 7,5 g, F4 20 hari 10 g. Setiap perlakuan diulang 4 kali, sehingga terdapat 16 unit satuan percobaan, yang masing-masing petak terdiri dari 3 bibit kelapa sawit, sehingga jumlah 48 polybag. Setiap petak diambil 2 tanaman yang digunakan sebagai sampel. Parameter yang         diamati adalah tinggi bibit (cm), diameter batang (mm), berat kering tajuk (g), berat kering akar (g), dan indeks kualitas (IK).            Berdasarkan tujuan penelitian, hasil dan pembahasan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian NPK (16:16:16) dengan frekuensi waktu pemberian yang berbeda pada media tanam bibit kelapa sawit memberikan pengaruh yang tidak nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang, tapi berbeda nyata terhadap berat kering tajuk, berat kering akar dan indeks kualitas bibit kelapa sawit asal multi embrio. Perlakuan F1 juga memberikan nilai indeks kualitas (IK) tertinggi yang mengindikasikan bibit tersebut paling siap dipindahkan kelapangan.

Abstract

Plant spacing is a factor influencing the growth of oil palm plants. Plant spacing is done to get an area for plant growth, to avoid a sun and nutrients competition for each oil palm plant, and to make it easier maintenance. This study aimed to see   the growth and production of oil palm at different planting distances. This research was carried out at the Oil Palm smallholder Plantation located in Suko Awinjaya Village, Sekernan District, Muaro Jambi Regeny, 64 kilometers (representing 8×8 m spacing) and 69 kilometers (representing 9×9 m spacing). This research was conducted in March-April 2019. The design of the experiment was carried out as an unformatted trial and the location was porpusively chosen as  there were a uniform plants in that location. Sampling determination of the locations was based on spacing differences e.g.  Planting distance 8 × 8 m (P1), Planting distance 9 × 9 m (P2). The Systemic Sampling method was used in this study. The parameters observed were plant height, stem circumference, weight of fresh fruit bunches (FFB), productivity, light intensity, air temperature, air humidity (%). A measured agronomic each observed parameter was analyzed by Independent t test (significant level of 5%). The result showed that the oil palm plantations with 8x8 m distance planted give a higher growth  and a smaller stem circumference than the 9x9m. While a higher both of Fresh Fruit Bunch Weight and productivity were obtained at a 9x9 m spacing than those at 8x8 m planted distance. Pengaturan jarak tanam adalah untuk mendapatkan ruang tumbuh bagi pertumbuhan tanaman guna menghindari kompetisi memperebutkan unsur hara dan matahari dari setiap tanaman kelapa sawit, serta mempermudah dalam pemeliharaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pertumbuhan dan produksi kelapa sawit pada jarak tanam yang berbeda. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Perkebunan Kelapa Sawit Rakyat yang terletak di Desa Suko Awinjaya, Kecamatan Sekernan Kabupaten Muaro Jambi kilometer 64 (mewakili jarak tanam 8×8 m) dan kilometer 69 (mewakili jarak tanamn 9×9 m). Penelitian ini pada bulan Maret – April 2019. Rancangan Percobaan di lakukan dengan tidak terformat, dan lokasi dipilih secara sengaja karena pada lokasi tersebut terdapat tanaman yang diteliti dan seragam. Penentuan lokasi pengambilan sempel berdasarkan perbedaan jarak tanam yaitu: Jarak tanam 8×8 m (P1), Jarak tanam 9×9 m (P2) Pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode Sistemik Sampling. Parameter yang diamati adalah Tinggi tanaman, Lingkar Batang, Berat Tandan Buah Segar (TBS), Produktivitas, Intesitas Cahaya, Suhu Udara, Kelembaban Udara (%), Tindakan Agronomi. Setiap parameter yang diamati dilakukan analisis  Independent t test pada taraf α 5 %. Tanaman Kelapa sawit yang ditanam pada jarak 8x8 m memberikan hasil pertumbuhan yang lebih tinggi dan lingkaran yang lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan jarak tanam 9x9 m. Abstract

Damage to coffee beans which is stored in storehouse due to insect pests can reduce its quality through a decrease in coffee weight and its quality, consequently causing the price of coffee beans decrease because they have low quality. The purpose of the study was to identify the damaged condition of the Libtukom coffee and to find out the cause of the damage to the stored coffee been. This research was carried out in Mekar Jaya Village, Betara District, West Tanjung Jabung Regency, Batanghari University   Laboratory and BPTP Pest Laboratory Jambi since August to October 2021. This research was carried out at 4 locations where farmers' coffee beans storehouse using the light and bait trap method. and handpicking. This research was conducted by taking samples of coffee beans that were attacked by insect pests as much as 4 kg each sample so that 16 kg was obtained. The observed parameters were the characteristics of coffee damage, the number of insects caught, characteristics of the storehouse of Libtukom coffee beans and the moisture content of the stored coffee beans. The data were analyzed descriptively using the mean/mean value, standard deviation and presented in tabular form. The results showed that the highest characteristics of the damage to coffee beans in the four storage locations were the hollo seed more than one hole, followed by spoted bean and then    one hole in hollo bean. The amount obtained on the insect catching method in the warehouse of   Libtukom coffee bean using bait traps was Araecerus fasciculatus that obtained more, while   light traps showed  more the other insect.

Abstract

This research is entitled : Organoleptic Quality Characteristics of  Robusta Coffee ( Coffea canephora )  Brewing with Different Roasting Temperatures. Implementation treatment and organoleptic tests this research  at the Faculty of Agriculture UNBARI Jambi in March-August 2021 . The environmental design used in this study was a completely randomized design. The treatment design consisted of different roasting temperatures, with 4 levels of roasting temperature, as follows:  p1 = roasted at 180 0 C ; p 2 =  roasted with a temperature of 2000 C ; p 3 = roasted at a temperature of 220 0 C   and p 4 = roasted at a temperature of 240 0 C . Each treatment was repeated 3 times so that there were 12 experimental units .The observed variables of steeping coffee grounds in this research were : color, aroma, taste, bitterness, pH and water content of coffee grounds. To see the effect of different roasting temperatures, statistical analysis was carried out: the variables of color, aroma, taste, bitterness, and preference were carried out by a perception test with a 5-scale Likert scale then tabulated the data, followed by analysis of variance, then continued with the DNMRT test at level 5 %. While testing the pH and moisture content of coffee grounds was  analysis of variance and further test of DNMRT at the level of 5%. Roasting coffee beans at a temperature of 240 0 C, resulted in the highest organoleptic assessment of brewing coffee grounds in terms of color, aroma, taste, bitterness, preference, pH, and water content.

Abstract

High rainfall and soil tillage without applying soil and water conservation techniques (WCT) have led to higher runoff and erosion and washed away top soil that is rich in nutrients needed by plants. This causes soil fertility to decrease over time. This study aims to examine the differences in growth and productivity of Arabica coffee that  the uses of rorak and without rorak. This research was conducted in the farmer's garden which is incorporated in the Barokah farmer group Sungai Jernih Village Gunung 7 District and Mekar Sari Village Kayu Aro District Kerinci Regency from May to July 2019. The experimental design used was unformatted trials and the location of the experiment was chosen intentionally (purposive) with the reason that in that area there are objects to be examined, namely coffee cultivation land that uses rorak and which does not use rorak. The treatment in this study was, Ro: land using rorak and R1: land without rorak. Vegetative and production variables observed included stem circumference (cm), leaf color, fruit weight with a sample of 100 chery coffees per tree (g) and soil variables including soil pH, soil moisture, nutrient content N, P, and K. The results of the study showed that making rorak produced differences in stem circumference, soil moisture content, nutrient content of N, P, K and soil pH as well as land productivity. Land using rorak yields 1047.61 kg / ha / year grenbeen and land without rorak 683.89 kg / ha / year grenbeen.Keywords: rorak, productivity of Arabica coffee

Abstract

AbstractProduction and quality of latex is determined by planting distance of rubber plants. This research aimed to know the production and quality of latex in various  the rubber plant planting distance range. The research was carried out in August until September 2016 . The research method design was a survey method. The different planting distance  which is use was already exist in “Durian Inner Luncuk XXIV” Villages, Batanghari Regency i.e.; J1 (3 x 4 m), J2 (3 x 5 m), J3 (4 x 5 m), and J4 (4 x 6 m) as treatments. Each treatment was set 15 plant samples. The parameters observed were the latex production, the dirt levels, the ash levels , and the levels of dry rubber. The observation result showed that the highest latex production (130 gr-1 plant-1 day-1) was obtained at the planting distance treatment  of  4x6 m. Levels of impurities in LaTeX, the levels of ash and the highest levels of the dried gum obtained at the treatment plant distance is 4 x 5 m i.e. 0.024 0.20%, and 18.43%. The difference in distance is not planting showed a different result against the level of dirt, the levels of ash and dried gum levels.Keywords: planting Distance, production, quality Latex, gum plant AbstrakProduksi dan kualitas lateks  salah satunya ditentukan oleh jarak tanam tanaman karet. Jarak tanam berbeda yang sudah ada di Desa Durian  Luncuk Batin XXIV Kabupaten Batanghari, yaitu ; J1 (3 x 4 m), J2 (3 x 5 m), J3 (4 x 5 m), J4 (4 x 6 m). Setiap perlakuan ditetapkan 15 tanaman sampel. Parameter yang diamati adalah  produksi lateks, kadar kotoran, abu, dan karet kering.  Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa produksi lateks tertinggi (130 gr/pohon/hari)  didapatkan pada perlakuan jarak tanam 4x6 m. Kadar kotoran lateks, kadar abu dan kadar karet kering yang tertinggi didapat pada perlakuan jarak tanam 4 x 5 m yaitu 0,024 %, 0,20 %, dan 18,43 %. Perbedaan jarak tanam tidak memperlihatkan hasil yang berbeda terhadap  kadar kotoran, kadar abu dan kadar karet kering.Kata kunci : Jarak tanam, produksi, kualitas lateks, tanaman karet
