Abstract

This literature review investigates the influence of Chat GPT AI on the effectiveness of the civil engineering curriculum and student performance. The study explores the use of Chat GPT AI in education and emphasizes the significance of rubric assessment in evaluating student achievements. The findings reveal that incorporating Chat GPT AI can significantly enhance the learning process by providing prompt and accurate responses to students' queries. However, the study emphasizes the continued importance of human interaction in the assessment process, as rubric assessment remains crucial for evaluating student performance and fostering motivation for better outcomes. The implications underscore the need to align the curriculum with industry standards and leverage technology to enrich the learning experience. These findings hold potential for educators and policymakers seeking to enhance educational quality and produce highly qualified civil engineering graduates. Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini dilaksanakan pada kelompok mitra Paguyupan Fancy Guppy Surabaya sebagai upaya meningkatkan kapasitas dan kualitas usaha budidaya ikan hias melalui pelatihan pembuatan aquarium sistem rak bersusun berbahan baja profil. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra meliputi keterbatasan penataan aquarium, kurang optimalnya pemanfaatan ruang budidaya serta minimnya pengetahuan mengenai konstruksi rak aquarium yang kuat, aman, dan efisien. Kondisi tersebut berdampak pada rendahnya efektivitas proses pemeliharaan dan pengembangan usaha budidaya ikan guppy. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada anggota paguyuban mengenai teknik perancangan dan pembuatan aquarium sistem rak bersusun berbahan baja profil melelui pendekatan pelatihan dan praktik langsung. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi observasi kebutuhan mitra, penyampaian materi, demonstrasi pembuatan konstruksi rak, praktik perakitan, serta evaluasi hasil pelatihan. Tim pelaksana terdiri dari dosen dan mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo dari bidang Teknik Sipil dan Informatika berkolaborasi dalam mendukung peningkatan kualitas dan keterampilan kelompok UMKM budidaya ikan hias. Hasil kegiatan pada program pengabdian ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan mitra sebanyak 75% dalam membuat sistem aquarium rak bersusun berbasis inovasi teknologi yang lebih efektif, hemat tempat, dan memiliki daya tahan yang baik sehingga mampu menunjang produktivitas budidaya ikan Guppy. Kegiatan ini juga berkontribusi terhadap pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), khususnya SDG 14 melalui dukungan terhadap budidaya ikan hias berkelanjutan dan SDG 9 melalui penerapan inovasi konstruksi berbahan baja profil pada sektor usaha masayarakat.
