Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Cicareuh pada tanggal 04 April - 13 Juni 2022. Pengukuran In situ meliputi temperature (Suhu), derajat keasaman (pH), oksigen (DO) secara langsung ditempat tambak LAT. Pengukuran Ex situ di Laboratorium IPB University meliputi Amonia, Alkalinitas, Nitrit, Nitrat, dan Fosfat. Sistem Vegetable Floting Raft merupakan salah satu fitoremediasi yang menggunakan paduan akuakultur dan media tanam kangkung  memiliki resirkulasi yang bertujuan untuk mengontrol kualitas air. Hasil tujuan diatas menunjukan perbandingan parameter kualitas air dalam sistem Vegetable Floating Raft dan kolam kontrol, untuk mengetahui efektivitas Vegetable Floating Raft dalam senyawa amonia pada hasil budidaya Lobster Air Tawar serta mengetahui korelasi paduan kualitas air dan pertumbuhan LAT dalam sistem VFR. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan VFR memiliki kualitas yang sama dibandingkan dengan kolam budidaya karena mampu memberikan hasil yang tidak berbeda nyata (P0,05) pada setiap perlakuan.

Abstract

The development of eel fish cultivation has quite good business opportunities and prospects. However, the main obstacle in cultivating eel fish is the high mortality in the glass eel phase, so it has a survival rate of 30-50% and slow growth, namely less than 3.1%. One effort to maximize glass eel maintenance is through optimizing alkalinity as a buffer for water quality. The alkalinity level in the maintenance medium can be regulated by adding calcium carbonate (CaCO3). This research aims to determine the effect of adding CaCO3 to the rearing media on glass eels' growth and survival rate. The study was conducted for 14 days in March 2023. The method was wholly randomized with three replications in 3 treatments (P1=0 mg L-1, P2=50 mg L-1, P3=100 mg L-1). Analysis of research data used the ANOVA test. Adding CaCO3 produced a natural effect on length growth with a value of 0.16 cm, weight growth of 0.73 mg L-1, and a survival rate of 74%. The treatment did not naturally affect the alkalinity levels in the glass eel maintenance media. The best treatment effect was found in P2 (50 mg L-1). These results show that adding CaCO3 to the glass eel-rearing media decreased but did not naturally affect alkalinity levels.

Abstract

Kawasan hulu DAS merupakan kawasan yang vital untuk keberlangsungn kehidupan manusia. Upaya untuk menjaga kelestarian lingkungan hulu DAS sangat penting untuk dikelola dengan baik. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran untuk memlihara lingkungan pada masyarakat yang hidup dan beraktivitas pada kawasan hulu DAS Cicatih-Cimandiri. Sasaran kegiatan pemberdayaan ini yaitu sekolah-sekolah tingkat pertama dan tingkat atas. Hasil kegiatan ini yaitu terbentuknya sekolah-sekolah yang berbudaya lingkungan di sekitar kawasan hulu DAS Cicatih-Cimandiri yang diharapkan menjadi cikal bakal basis kesadaran masyarakat dalam menjaga lingkungan.

Abstract

Goldfish (Carassius auratus) is a freshwater ornamental fish with high economic value and is widely kept in aquariums. Fish welfare is an important aspect in its maintenance because it affects the growth, color, behavior, and environmental conditions of the fish. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of using different substrates on the level of fish welfare of goldfish. The study was conducted for 14 days using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments: aquatic plant (Hydrilla verticillata) substrate, zeolite substrate, and no substrate, each with three replications. The parameters observed included growth in length, color changes, behavior, and water quality consisting of temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen (DO). The results showed that the use of aquatic plants gave the best results compared to other treatments. The growth in length of fish in the aquatic plant treatment reached an average of 2.06 cm, higher than the zeolite (1.46 cm) and no substrate (1.13 cm). The highest increase in fish color was also observed in the aquatic plant treatment with an average score of 24, compared to zeolite (20) and without substrate (16). The ANOVA test results showed that the substrate treatment had a significant effect on length growth (P = 0.0042) and changes in fish color (P = 0.000204). In addition, the aquatic plant treatment resulted in more stable water quality with temperature, pH, and DO within the optimal range and showed more active and normal fish behavior. Thus, the use of aquatic plants (Hydrilla verticillata) as a substrate was proven to be more effective in improving fish welfare of goldfish compared to zeolite or without substrate.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of administering Artemia sp. feed at different doses on the survival, water quality, and growth of eel (Anguilla bicolor.). The study was conducted using an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of 3 treatments and 3 replications, analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). A total of 14,400 eel juveniles with an initial average length of 4.98 ± 0.01 cm and an initial average weight of 0.138 ± 0.001 g were used as test animals. The treatments applied were different doses of Artemia sp. feed: treatment A (5%), treatment B (10%), and treatment C (15%) of the biomass weight for each treatment. The results showed that feeding Artemia sp. at different doses had no significant effect on survival rate (SR), water quality, or growth, but it significantly influenced the optimization of the water quality of the rearing media. At the end of the study, the survival rates for each treatment were: treatment A 98%, treatment B 99%, and treatment C 98%. The average weight gain in treatment A (5% dose) was 0.875 ± 1.421 g, with an average length increase of 0.237 ± 0.013 cm. Treatment B (10% dose) resulted in an average weight gain of 0.353 ± 0.034 g and an average length increase of 0.156 ± 0.002 cm. Treatment C (15% dose) resulted in an average weight gain of 0.167 ± 0.033 g and an average length increase of 0.243 ± 0.012 cm. Water quality parameters in all treatments remained within optimum conditions, with pH 7.49, temperature 24.0°C, and dissolved oxygen (DO) 6.2 mg/l, which supported the experimental treatments.
