Abstract

This study discusses the types and functions of illocutionary speech acts contained in the text of the Palestinian Declaration of Independence. The text of the Palestinian Declaration of Independence was written by a Palestinian poet, Mahmoud Darwish and then read by the First President of Palestine Yasser Arafat in Algeria on November 15, 1988. This research was analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods and Searle's (1979) speech act theory. In the text of the Palestinian Declaration of Independence, the researcher found 14 utterances containing illocutionary speech acts with different functions. There are 4 assertive utterances with the function of stating, 3 directive utterances with the function of asking and inviting, 3 commissive utterances with the function of promising, 2 expressive utterances with the function of expressing disappointment and criticism, and 2 declarative utterances with the function of declaring the independence of Palestine and appointing the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as the legitimate representative of Palestine.

Abstract

Livestock farming has become a crucial part in meeting the needs of food, industry, and local communities. However, the negative impacts of livestock farming practices, such as improper waste disposal, have led to serious environmental pollution issues. The management of animal waste is key to maintaining environmental cleanliness and livestock health. This research aims to understand strategies for effective and environmentally friendly waste management on farms in the city of Serang. Qualitative methods were employed, including direct interviews with local communities and livestock owners, as well as observations of animal waste storage. Managing animal waste is a crucial task that all farmers must undertake to prevent environmental pollution due to unpleasant odors and the significant negative impact of large quantities of animal waste on crops. It is important to process animal waste before handling or using it as feed. Therefore, this research emphasizes the use of Causal Loop Diagrams (CLD) as a tool to understand and explain waste management in cattle and sheep, based on the research findings presented by the CLD. The modeling results indicate that observations of livestock waste management reveal the presence of 8 internal and external factors influencing this process. These factors are interpreted as variables without fixed values but demonstrating specific behavioral patterns. Identifying these variables can serve as a basis for developing more effective strategies in livestock waste management by understanding and managing the behavioral patterns associated with each variable.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of human resource practices, perceived organizational support, and Religiosity on employee happiness at work. Utilizing a quantitative research method, data were collected through surveys from 115 academic staff at Padang City (google form). The research instrument was tested using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and multiple linear regression for hypothesis testing (STATA). The findings reveal that effective human resource practices and perceived organizational support significantly enhance employee happiness, whereas Religiosity does not show a substantial effect. The implications suggest that organizations should focus on supportive HR practices and fostering organizational support to improve employee well-being. This research contributes to the understanding of factors influencing workplace happiness and offers practical insights for HR management in higher education institutions. Keywords: happiness at work, religiosity, perceived organizational support, human resources practices,

Abstract

Indonesia's warm and humid tropical climate provides an ideal setting for the flourishing of fungi. Fungi are pivotal in the intricate balance of nutrient cycles and soil fertility within forest ecosystems. They can be broadly categorized into two types: microscopic fungi, which are minuscule and require observation under a microscope, and macroscopic fungi, which can be identified based on visible morphological features without additional tools. Forests, with their limited sunlight and high humidity due to the dense canopy of trees, serve as fertile grounds for a myriad of fungal species. This research aims to analyze fungal diversity using the exploratory survey method, involving direct search and observation of macrofungi. The sampling was conducted in May 2023 within the Wisdom Park UGM area, covering an area of 3,762.12 m² with coordinates 7° 46'09"S 110°22'59"E. The findings revealed a commendable diversity in terms of shape and size. However, the color palette of fungi in the area exhibited limited variation, primarily consisting of subdued white and brown hues. Some identified fungal species include Ganoderma sp., Mycena sp., Trametes sp., Lepiota cristata, and Panaeolus fimicola. These fungi predominantly thrived on substrates such as trees, soil, leaf litter, and decaying wood.

Abstract

PT Sulfindo Adiusaha is a chemical company focused on operational efficiency and quality. The main issue faced is frequent machine breakdowns, particularly mechanical seal leakage, which disrupts production processes. This study aims to analyze the causes of damage using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method to determine repair priorities. The analysis results show that mechanical seal leakage has the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) of 504, making it the top repair priority. The main causes of damage include human factors, maintenance methods, materials, and machine wear. Recommendations for improvement include operator training, replacing components with heat-resistant materials, and structured periodic maintenance. These steps are expected to enhance productivity and reduce downtime risks.
