Abstract

Background: It has been shown that underage individuals are more vulnerable to involvement in traffic accidents. In 2023, a total of 1,339 traffic accidents were documented in the city of Semarang. There were 1,515 traffic accidents involving 3,113 perpetrators with 17.5% (546) aged 5-20 years in 2024. The objective of this study was to identify the factors associated with the riding behavior of junior high school students in Semarang City. Methods: The present study was conducted as an observational analytical study employing a cross-sectional approach. A total of 447 subjects were selected as a sample for the study. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling. The data were collected via an online questionnaire and subsequently analyzed using the chi-square test and logistic regression. Results: The findings indicated that knowledge (p = 0.006), attitude (p = 0.001), and parental involvement (p = 0.009) were significantly associated with students' riding behaviors. Conclusion:The findings of this study indicate that educational and parental involvement are both critical factors in shaping the riding behavior of adolescent motorcyclists.

Abstract

Background: Stunting in children can affect him from childhood to adulthood. In the short term, stunting in children causes disruption in brain development, metabolism and physical growth. Methods: It was an observational research with crossectional study design. The population of this research is kindergarten children in Larangan and Jatibarang Districts. The research sample is kindergarten children who go to school in the Districts of Larangan and Jatibarang and are willing to become respondents. Primary data was collected by collecting data on anthropometric profiles (nutritional status) using scales of body weight and height. Result: The results of data analysis showed that the proportion of kindergarten children out of 111 children was 3.6% with the very short category and 17.1% in the short category, while 79.3% with the normal category. Conclusions: The prevalence of stunting in kindergarten children in Brebes is still high.

Abstract

Daging hewan yang disembelih pada saat hari Raya Idul Kurban harus aman, sehat, utuh dan halal (ASUH). Terutama sekarang banyak penyakit hewan yang dapat menular ke manusia (zoonosis). Pemeriksaan kesehatan hewan baik sebelum (antemortem) dan sesudah (postmortem) perlu dilakukan untuk menjamin bahwa hewan sehat dan dagingnya layak dikonsumsi. Tujuan pengabdian adalah meningkatkan pemahaman dan ketrampilan masyarakat dalam mengelola daging kurban. Kegiatan ini dilaksankan dalam 2 tahap yaitu pembekalan materi dan praktik pemeriksaan kesehatan hewan. Peserta kegiatan 20 orang yang terdiri dari ibu-ibu rumah tangga dan perwakilan takmir masjid di RW 05 Desa Banaran Kelurahan Sekaran Kecamatan Gunungpati. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta yang terlibat bervariasi dalam umur dan tingkat pendidikan, hampir 70% peserta bertambah pengetahuan tentang penyakit zoonosis, keterlibatan dalam praktek antemortem sebesar 40%, 35% saat postmortem dan 50% mengiris dan mengemas daging. Peserta antusias dalam diskusi materi dan aktif ikut berpartisipasi dalam praktik pemeriksaan awal dan akhir. Simpulan kegiatan adalah bahwa peningkatan pemahaman dan ketrampilan pemeriksaan hewan menjamin kesehatan hewan dan kualitas daging kurban.
