Abstract

This research aims to develop a Student Worksheet (LKS) containing cultural elements in the Malay custom of tajak Tanah Ketapang on the material of two-variable linear equation systems in Class VIII B SMP Negeri 02 Muara Pawan Ketapang. This research is development research that uses the borg ang gall model, namely: Potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, initial trials, and product revisions. The data collection technique used in this research is indirect communication techniques and measurement techniques, while the data collection tools used are validation sheets, questionnaires (teacher and student response questionnaires) and tests. The test subjects in this research were 24 students in class VIII B of SMP Negeri 02 Muara Pawan Ketapang. This research produced a validity level of 90% in the very valid category, a practicality level of 94.85% in the very practical category and an effectiveness level of 79,16% in the very effective category

Abstract

This article aims to develop M-Learning-based learning media using the MIT APP Inventor Application to improve students' critical thinking skills on the topic of two-variable linear equation system (SPLDV) in grade VIII of SMPN 2 Pontianak. The method used is research and development by involving 3 experts for material validation and 3 experts for media validation. The research subjects consisted of 29 grade VIII students of SMPN 2 Pontianak. The data collected includes validation sheets, student response questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires, and student critical thinking skills tests. The results of the study show that the MIT APP Inventor application-based learning media achieves a validity level of 81.61% (very valid), a practicality level of 86.76% (very practical), and an effectiveness level of 17% (quite effective). Thus, the MIT APP Inventor application is suitable to be used as a learning medium for grade VIII students of SMPN 2 Pontianak in facing SPLDV materials

Abstract

This researcher aims to develop a test instrument media to measure mathematical creative thinking skills with the help of wordwalls. The research method used is Researcd and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model. The level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the test instrument to measure mathematical creative thinking ability with the help of wordwalls on exponential material is an indicator of the feasibility of the instrument made. The data analysis used was quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. Media validity is obtained from the results of expert validation consisting of media experts and material experts. The results obtained from media experts with an average of 86.67% with the "very valid" criteria and the results from material experts with an average of 89.70% with the "very valid" criteria. Practicality was obtained from the percentage of student and teacher responses with an average of 86.88% with the criterion of "very practical". Effectiveness is obtained because it has met 4 criteria of effectiveness, namely the validity of question items, level of difficulty, differentiation and reliability, and can be said to be "effective". The conclusion is that the test instrument to measure mathematical thinking ability with the help of wordwalls in the exponential material of class XI SMAN 1 Embaloh Hulu is feasible to use.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the difficulty of students' conceptual understanding in algebra material based on APOS theory. The research approach is qualitative with the type of research is a case study. The sample selection technique used is purposive sampling. The source of data in this study is 31 students in grade VII F SMP Negeri 4 Singkawang for the 2023/2024 school year. Furthermore, 6 more students were taken as subjects to be interviewed. Data collection techniques use tests, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques are: 1) Data Collection, 2) Data Reduction, 3) Data Display, and 4) Conclusion Drawing/Verification. The results of the study show that: 1) The difficulty of mathematical conceptual understanding of students with APOS theory of the high category is the lack of understanding of students' concepts in Algebra material, lack of accuracy in reading problems and lack of understanding of the meaning of the problem; 2) The difficulty of mathematical conceptual understanding of students with APOS theory in the medium category is lack of understanding of the concept of similar terms in Algebra, confusion about how to explain the reason and mathematical model, lack of mastery of the concept of calculation operations on integers, lack of mastery of distributive concepts applied to Algebraic forms; 3) The difficulty of mathematical conceptual understanding of students with APOS theory in the low category is the difficulty in applying the basic concepts of Algebra

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media in the form of a GeoGebra application-based math learning video to improve the understanding of the concepts of students in grade VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Belitang Hilir. This Research is a Development Research (R&D) using the ADDIE model which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects in the study consisted of material and media experts (as validators), as well as students and teachers (as product trial subjects). Data collection techniques were conducted through indirect communication, using instruments in the form of expert validation sheets, teacher response questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The results of validation by material experts showed a validity level of 91.9% and by media experts of 93.84%, both of which were included in the very valid category. The teacher response questionnaire showed a practicality level of 97.64%, while the student response questionnaire was 90.13%, both included in the very practical category. In addition, the posttest results showed the effectiveness level of the learning media of 77.28% which was included in the effective category. Thus, the GeoGebra-based learning video media developed is considered valid, practical, and effective for use in learning mathematics.

Abstract

This research aims to develop learning media in the form of Learner Worksheets (LKPD) based on the Predict, Observe, and Explain (POE) model to overcome students' difficulties in understanding comparison material. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with stages: identification of potential and problems, data collection, product design, initial trials, design revisions, and product validation. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and tests. Data analysis was done descriptively quantitatively, by calculating the average percentage of validation results, user responses, and test results. The results showed that the POE-based LKPD had a very high level of validity with a score of 87.3%. The practicality of the media is also classified as very good, based on a teacher response questionnaire of 88% and a student response questionnaire of 72%. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of the LKPD is shown through the posttest results with an average score of 79.0%, which meets the effective criteria in improving students' critical thinking skills. Thus, this POE-based LKPD is feasible to use as a valid, practical, and effective learning media on comparison material in grade VII SMP.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the mathematical creative thinking abilities of students at SMP Negeri 2 Kota Pontianak in solving problems on quadrilaterals, including squares, rectangles, trapezoids, and parallelograms. The study uses a case study approach with a descriptive qualitative method. The research subjects were all 30 students in class VII C. Data were collected through a mathematical creative thinking ability test and interviews to deepen understanding of the students' thinking processes. The data obtained were analysed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students' mathematical creative thinking skills were divided into three categories, namely high category with 4 students (13.33%), medium category with 22 students (73.33%), and low category with 4 students (13.33%). These findings indicate that the majority of students are in the medium category, meaning that they are already capable of demonstrating basic creativity but still need guidance to develop more original ideas, think flexibly, and elaborate their answers more completely
