Abstract

This research aims to develop learning media in the form of Learner Worksheets (LKPD) based on the Predict, Observe, and Explain (POE) model to overcome students' difficulties in understanding comparison material. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with stages: identification of potential and problems, data collection, product design, initial trials, design revisions, and product validation. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and tests. Data analysis was done descriptively quantitatively, by calculating the average percentage of validation results, user responses, and test results. The results showed that the POE-based LKPD had a very high level of validity with a score of 87.3%. The practicality of the media is also classified as very good, based on a teacher response questionnaire of 88% and a student response questionnaire of 72%. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of the LKPD is shown through the posttest results with an average score of 79.0%, which meets the effective criteria in improving students' critical thinking skills. Thus, this POE-based LKPD is feasible to use as a valid, practical, and effective learning media on comparison material in grade VII SMP.

Abstract

Berpikir kritis merupakan kompetensi penting dalam penyelesaian berbagai masalah. Akan tetapi, banyak siswa atau mahasiswa yang kurang terampil berpikir kritis. Salah satu hambatan berpikir kritis disebabkan oleh proses pembelajaran (hambatan didaktis). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali hambatan didaktis berpikir kritis dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika pada materi segitiga. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 24 mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar. Instrumen pendukung penelitian ini berupa tes pemecahan masalah dan pedoman wawancara. Pengecekan validitas data menggunakan triangulasi metode. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada tiga pola penyelesaian masalah, yaitu pola translasi gambar, pola relasi luas, dan pola kesetaraan luas. Hambatan berpikir kritis pada ketiga pola tersebut disebabkan pembelajaran yang mengandalkan penanaman konsep melalui contoh-contoh yang tidak bervariasi dan terbatas, pemberian rumus siap pakai untuk dihafal, serta penyajian masalah rutin dan prosedur penyelesaiannya. Pembelajaran tersebut membiasakan mahasiswa menyelesaikan masalah secara mekanis, sekedar meniru tindakan guru, tidak memahami makna rumus, dan menimbulkan miskonsepsi. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan kesalahan dalam memahami masalah, mengidentifikasi data, memberi alasan, dan melakukan refleksi. Temuan penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai dasar penyusunan materi dan masalah/soal matematika serta rencana pembelajaran untuk mereduksi hambatan berpikir kritis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Kakap, Kabupaten Kubu Raya dengan subyek digunakan adalah siswa kelas VIII berjumlah 18 orang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian studi kasus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang ditinjau dengan gaya belajar. Dari penelitian di dapat bawah siswa dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah tinggi berjumlah 9 siswa, kemampuan sedang 4 siswa, dan kemampuan rendah 5 siswa.  Untuk gaya belajar, siswa dengan gaya belajar visual 9 siswa, auditorial 4 siswa, dan kinestetik 5 siswa. Berdasarkan hal tersebut kemudian diambil 3 siswa gaya belajar dengan tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah belajar tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Siswa dengan gaya belajar visual adalah MP, WN, dan IL.  Siswa dengan gaya belajar auditorial adalah NA, MA, dan SA.  Sedangkan Siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik adalah MF, LT, dan WS.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) pada materi sistem persamaan linier dua variabel. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 15 siswa kelas X MIPA SMA Islam Hisada Pontianak. Kualitatif deskriptif adalah metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dan teknik analisis data menggunakan model dari Miles & Huberman. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal HOTS sebanyak 3 soal. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa siswa dengan kemampuan kategori rendah sama sekali belum memenuhi keempat indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis. Siswa dengan kemampuan kategori sedang dapat melewati tiga indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan baik, sedangkan siswa dengan kemampuan kategori tinggi dapat melalui keseluruhan indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan baik dan benar.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana implementasi pembelajaran kontekstual pendidikan dalam karakter. Metode yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru mata pelajaran matematika SMP Tunas Bhakti dan objek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Tunas Bhakti. Hasil analisis data penelitian ini menunjukan: (1) implementasi pendidikan karakter dalam proses pembelajaran matematika di kelas VII meliputi perencanaan. Proses pembelajaran dan penilaian; (2) Faktor penghambat implementasi pendidikan karakter dalam proses pembelajaran matematika di kelas VII adalah kurangnya kesadaran siswa dalam mentaati aturan, motivasi siswa belajar kurang dan ketidak sesuaian sikap dan prilaku siswa terhadap aturan yang sudah ada; (3) Upaya apa yang dilakukan dalam mengimplementasikan pendidikan karakter dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas Vll yaitu memberi teladan untuk disiplin waktu, memberi teladan untuk menaati aturan,selalu mengecek kehadiran siswa, selalu memberi hukuman kepada siswa, Memberi perhatian yang sama kepada semua siswa, Memberi kesempatan siswa untuk mengungkapkan pendapatnya, Memberi kesempatan siswa untuk bertanya, Mengajukan pertanyaan-pertanyaan terkait materi, dan Membiasakan siswa mengerjakan tugasnya. Abstract This research aims to describe how to implement contextual learning in character education. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The subject of this research is the mathematics subject teacher at Tunas Bhakti Middle School and the object of this research is the seventh grade students at Tunas Bhakti Middle School. The results of this research data analysis show: (1) the implementation of character education in the mathematics learning process in class VII includes planning. Learning and assessment processes; (2) Factors inhibiting the implementation of character education in the mathematics learning process in class VII are students' lack of awareness in obeying the rules, students' lack of motivation to learn and a mismatch in students' attitudes and behavior towards existing rules; (3) What efforts are made to implement character education in the learning process in class V, namely setting an example for time discipline, setting an example for obeying the rules, always checking student attendance, always giving punishment to students, giving equal attention to all students, providing opportunities students to express their opinions, give students the opportunity to ask questions, ask questions related to the material, and get students used to doing their assignments.

Abstract

This article aims to develop M-Learning-based learning media using the MIT APP Inventor Application to improve students' critical thinking skills on the topic of two-variable linear equation system (SPLDV) in grade VIII of SMPN 2 Pontianak. The method used is research and development by involving 3 experts for material validation and 3 experts for media validation. The research subjects consisted of 29 grade VIII students of SMPN 2 Pontianak. The data collected includes validation sheets, student response questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires, and student critical thinking skills tests. The results of the study show that the MIT APP Inventor application-based learning media achieves a validity level of 81.61% (very valid), a practicality level of 86.76% (very practical), and an effectiveness level of 17% (quite effective). Thus, the MIT APP Inventor application is suitable to be used as a learning medium for grade VIII students of SMPN 2 Pontianak in facing SPLDV materials

Abstract

This researcher aims to develop a test instrument media to measure mathematical creative thinking skills with the help of wordwalls. The research method used is Researcd and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model. The level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the test instrument to measure mathematical creative thinking ability with the help of wordwalls on exponential material is an indicator of the feasibility of the instrument made. The data analysis used was quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. Media validity is obtained from the results of expert validation consisting of media experts and material experts. The results obtained from media experts with an average of 86.67% with the "very valid" criteria and the results from material experts with an average of 89.70% with the "very valid" criteria. Practicality was obtained from the percentage of student and teacher responses with an average of 86.88% with the criterion of "very practical". Effectiveness is obtained because it has met 4 criteria of effectiveness, namely the validity of question items, level of difficulty, differentiation and reliability, and can be said to be "effective". The conclusion is that the test instrument to measure mathematical thinking ability with the help of wordwalls in the exponential material of class XI SMAN 1 Embaloh Hulu is feasible to use.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the difficulty of students' conceptual understanding in algebra material based on APOS theory. The research approach is qualitative with the type of research is a case study. The sample selection technique used is purposive sampling. The source of data in this study is 31 students in grade VII F SMP Negeri 4 Singkawang for the 2023/2024 school year. Furthermore, 6 more students were taken as subjects to be interviewed. Data collection techniques use tests, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques are: 1) Data Collection, 2) Data Reduction, 3) Data Display, and 4) Conclusion Drawing/Verification. The results of the study show that: 1) The difficulty of mathematical conceptual understanding of students with APOS theory of the high category is the lack of understanding of students' concepts in Algebra material, lack of accuracy in reading problems and lack of understanding of the meaning of the problem; 2) The difficulty of mathematical conceptual understanding of students with APOS theory in the medium category is lack of understanding of the concept of similar terms in Algebra, confusion about how to explain the reason and mathematical model, lack of mastery of the concept of calculation operations on integers, lack of mastery of distributive concepts applied to Algebraic forms; 3) The difficulty of mathematical conceptual understanding of students with APOS theory in the low category is the difficulty in applying the basic concepts of Algebra

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII dalam memahami materi volume kubus dan balok. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, melibatkan 25 siswa SMP Kalam Kudus Pontianak yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes uraian dan wawancara, dengan soal yang mencakup indikator berpikir kritis meliputi interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, dan inferensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa berada pada kategori cukup baik, sementara hanya sebagian kecil yang mencapai kategori sangat baik maupun sangat kurang. Dengan demikian, secara umum kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP Kalam Kudus Pontianak dapat dikategorikan cukup baikKata Kunci: Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis, Volume Kubus Dan Balok

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the mathematical creative thinking abilities of students at SMP Negeri 2 Kota Pontianak in solving problems on quadrilaterals, including squares, rectangles, trapezoids, and parallelograms. The study uses a case study approach with a descriptive qualitative method. The research subjects were all 30 students in class VII C. Data were collected through a mathematical creative thinking ability test and interviews to deepen understanding of the students' thinking processes. The data obtained were analysed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students' mathematical creative thinking skills were divided into three categories, namely high category with 4 students (13.33%), medium category with 22 students (73.33%), and low category with 4 students (13.33%). These findings indicate that the majority of students are in the medium category, meaning that they are already capable of demonstrating basic creativity but still need guidance to develop more original ideas, think flexibly, and elaborate their answers more completely
