Abstract

Most of the plant species from the genus Momordica which originated from Asia and Africa have been shown to have functional value, both as food and medicinal plants. However, the quality of utilization of medicinal plants needs to be controlled through accurate authentication, for example through molecular analysis based on DNA barcodes. The matK sequence is one of the most widely used DNA barcode regions in plant molecular studies. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the genetic variation and phylogenetic relationships of several taxa from the genus Momordica, as well as to analyze the effectiveness of the application of the matK gene as a barcode region in the genus Momordica. The study was conducted by collecting matK sequence data from NCBI in order to obtain sequence data from 12 taxa of the genus Momordica. The data were then aligned and analyzed using MEGA 11 software which included analysis of genetic variation, reconstruction of phylogenetic trees based on Maximum Parsimony, and calculation of genetic distance values using the Kimura-2-Parameter substitution model. The results showed that the molecular analysis of 12 taxa from the genus Momordica based on matK DNA barcode region had been successfully carried out, as evidenced by the successful reconstruction of the phylogenetic tree which showed clear separation both at the interspecies and intraspecies levels. However, the separation that has formed has not been able to show the grouping of taxa based on the origin. Likewise with the calculation of genetic distance values which show consistent results. All analyzes also showed that the matK DNA barcode region has a sequence composition that is quite effective for molecular analysis for genus Momordica, but further studies are required to improve the effectiveness and accuracy of the results provided

Abstract

Crackers are a food that is very popular with the people of Indonesia. One type of crackers that exist are kelor pleret crackers. Kelor pleret crackers are a type of food made from the basic ingredients of Moringa leaves which are processed through steaming the dough, molding, drying, and frying. This study aims to determine the production process, analyze the business feasibility and marketing mix strategy for the Moringa pleret cracker product. This study uses the BEP (Break Event Point) analysis method, R/C Ratio (Revenue Cost Ratio), and ROI (Return On Investment). 25 packages, while the BEP value (price) is IDR 6,300.32 with a predetermined selling price of IDR 10,000 per package, while the value of the R/C ratio is 1.58 and the ROI value is 9.3%. has been done, it can be said that the kelor pleret cracker business is profitable and can be run.The marketing strategy analysis carried out on the kelor pleret cracker business uses 4P marketing mix analysis (Product, Price, Place, Promotion). The product offered is packaged moringa pleret crackers with a net weight of 100 grams per package Marketing activities for kelor pleret crackers are carried out directly by producers to consumers through social media such as Instagram and Whatsapp.

Abstract

Tobacco is one of the leading commodities in the agricultural sector. Tobacco is developed in several areas in Jember Regency, one of which is in Patrang District. This study aims to determine the use of production inputs in tobacco farming, production and productivity, income, and the feasibility of tobacco farming in Patrang District. Determination of the sample using a simple random method. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, farming income analysis, and farming feasibility analysis. The results of the analysis showed that (1) tobacco farmers in Patrang District use inputs of seeds, fertilizers, drugs, pesticides, tools and labor in carrying out tobacco farming; (2) the average production and productivity of tobacco per hectare is 4.42 ton and 0.96 ton/ha; (3) the average profit of tobacco farming is IDR 22.546.992,19; and (4) tobacco farming is feasible to develop that it can be seen from the R/C value is 2.4, the price BEP value is IDR 3,664 and the production BEP is 1,056 kilograms.
