Abstract

The Susup River is an ecosystem that interacts with living things and their environment. Around the riverbank are various plants, including a tree habitus. Trees around the river have a role in the ecosystem, one of which can prevent flooding. This study aims to identify habitus tree plants that have the potential to be disaster mitigation on the Susup River Bank, Central Bengkulu Regency. The type of research in this study is quantitative descriptive research. Determination of the location of the study using purposive sampling techniques and inventory of tree habitus plants using the square method with the smallest area of 5 m x 5 saplings level, 10 m x 10 m poles level, and 20 m x 20 m trees level. The results of the study found 20 types of tree habitus plants. Of the 20 species of habitus trees found on the banks of the susup river that have the potential for disaster mitigation, there are as many as 15 types. Based on the species diversity index (Shannon-Wiener), the tree level reached 2,730 medium categories, pole levels reached 2,331 medium categories, and sapling levels reached 1,715 medium categories.

Abstract

This research was carried out from November to December 2023, at the Ruyani Life Sciences Learning Resources (SBIH). The aim of this research was to determine the effect of feeding tofu dregs and cow dung on the growth of earthworms (Lumbricus rubellus). The method used in this research was an experimental method, namely a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 feed treatments + 3 repetitions for continuation of undergraduate student research and 6 feed treatments + 3 repetitions for initiation. Data analysis used the Kruskall-Wallis nonparametric statistical test with Asymp. Sig. values. ≤ 0.05, and continued with the Mann-Whitney test. The research results show that the value of Asymp. Sig. parent biomass, offspring biomass, number of parent individuals, and number of Lumbricus rubellus offspring in sequence, in the 1st to 4th week of follow-up research Asymp. Sig. values. namely 0.086; 0.036; 0.140; and 0.064. In the 5th to 8th week of further research, the Asymp. Sig. value. namely 0.168; 0.047; 0.176; and 0.095. And in the 5th to 8th weeks of the research, the Asymp. Sig. value was initiated. namely 0.062; 0.010; 0.434; and 0.013. The conclusion was that feeding tofu dregs and cow dung had no real effect on parent biomass and number of parent individuals, and there was a real difference in offspring biomass and number of Lumbricus rubellus offspring in the initial study.

Abstract

Cuora amboinensis has experienced a population decline of 50–80 percent in CITES Appendix II since 2000 and is currently endangered (EN) or threatened with extinction, so it is important to preserve it. Bengkulu University's ex-situ conservation involves the preservation of Sumatran turtles obtained from collectors in the Bengkulu area. This research aims to design an artificial habitat in an effort to conserve Cuora amboinensis This research method uses an ecological-based design. The research subject was Cuora amboinensis Data collection methods include field observations, literature studies, discussions with turtle conservation experts, and monitoring environmental conditions. The research instrument uses environmental sensors to measure abiotic data. Data analysis was carried out descriptively with systematic research and analysis with field findings supported by previous researchers' findings and equipped with documentation images and a table presentation of environmental sensor data. The research results explain the stages in designing an artificial habitat for Cuora amboinensis, namely site selection and design, fencing and security, adaptation and acclimation, dividing areas based on function and providing supporting biota, nest building, and monitoring environmental conditions. The conclusion of this research Overall, this habitat design provides an optimal environment for Cuora amboinensis so that it can be used as a reference for conservation.

Abstract

Spinach is one of the most common types of green plants in Indonesia. This one plant is a type of vegetable that is easily processed for everyday food, from soup, pecel, gado-gado (Indonesian food), also chips. Amaranthus viridis also known as spinach pull out. In this study, observed the growth of spinach plants with ecoenzyme treatment. The treatment groups were: A (1.5% ecoenzyme), B (3% ecoenzyme), C (4.5% ecoenzyme), D (6% ecoenzyme), E (control/without treatment), F (NPK/ chemical fertilizer). Parameters observed were height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf diameter, wet weight and color. This type of research is experimental research and ANOVA data analysis techniques. The duration of the study was 27 days with 9 scheduled observations. Measurements were made in the afternoon, with reference to the observation parameters of stem height, leaf diameter, number of leaves, leaf diameter, leaf color and wet weight. The results of the observations showed that the ecoenzyme treatment was no better than the control and the NPK fertilizers showed that the height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf diameter, wet weight and color tended to be smaller. The conclusion of giving ecoenzymes at doses of 1.5%, 3%, 4.5% and 6% does not accelerate and tends to inhibit the growth of spinach (Amaranthus viridis).

Abstract

Pulau Baai Port is a crucial resource used as the main sea transportation route for some commodities and goods needed by principals when traveling to or from Bengkulu. Data collection was carried out at three stations The method used to determine stations is purposive sampling. Water quality data collection was also carried out at the three stations. The fish identification method is carried out by looking at morphological characteristics to facilitate classification using the Marine Fishes of the south identification book. A total of 18 species of fish found in the waters of the City of Bengkulu landed at the port Pulau Baai namely white pomfret fish (Pampus argenteus), black pomfret fish (Parastromateus niger), mackerel fish (Scomberomorini), mujair fish (Oreochromis mossambicus), beledang fish (Trichiurus lepturus), next fish (Pleuronectiformes), manyung fish (Arius thalassinus ), kerong kerong fish (Terapon jarbua), sea cork fish (Channa striata), big eye tuba fish (Thunnus obesus), mullet fish (Moolgarda seheli), anchovies (Engraulidae), mackerel fish (Scomberomorini), beleberan fish (Opisthopterus tardoore), Cladi fish (Osphronemus goramy), Kape-kape fish (Pentaprion longimanus), Gulamo fish (Johnius trachycephalus), and Sengin fish (Eleutheronema tetradactylumThen, from the results of calculating the diversity index at these three stations, the values range from 2.46-2.07, (medium). It can be concluded that the results of the ecological analysis at the three stations have moderate diversity with a uniform composition and no species dominates.
