Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui profil pembelajaran kimia berbasis Kurikulum  2013 di SMA Negeri kelas X di Kota Gorontalo dan Surakarta beserta perbedaannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan evaluatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah SMAN 1, 2, 3 Gorontalo, serta SMAN 1, 5, 7 Surakarta. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan sampling bertujuan. Teknik pengumpulkan data dengan wawancara, angket, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Validasi data dilakukan dengan trianggulasi sumber dan metode. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis interaktif dan dikombinasikan dengan analisis komparatif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya kekreatifitasan dalam perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Guru di Gorontalo telah membuat perencanaan pembelajaran dengan berbagai metode pembelajaran interaktif, namun ketika proses pembelajaran, metode yang sering digunakan yaitu ceramah dan diskusi. Penggunaan media pembelajaran masih kurang maksimal, minat siswa mengikuti pembelajaran tinggi, serta interaksi siswa dengan guru dan lingkungan sudah nampak ketika observasi. Guru di Surakarta mengembangkan perencanaan pembelajaran dengan berbagai model pembelajaran kooperatif, dan beberapa kali diterapkan ketika pembelajaran. Pemanfaatan media juga kurang maksimal, minat siswa mengikuti pembelajaran cukup tinggi, sedangkan interaksi siswa dengan guru dan lingkungan lebih tinggi. Pembelajaran kimia berbasis Kurikulum 2013 di Surakarta relatif lebih baik dibandingkan dengan Gorontalo, hal ini dikarenakan perbedaan kompetensi guru, kemampuan dan aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Heavy metal pollutants contained in wastewater can cause health problems for living things around. Minor to fatal health problems can occur due to heavy metal poisoning, mainly caused by Pb(II) metal.. This study aimed to determine the optimum mass combination of rice husk and zeolite to adsorb Pb(II) metal ions in simulated wastewater, and to determine the sensitivity of the analysis method. This study used Solid Phase Spectrophotometry (SPS) to determine the decrease in Pb(II) metal ion levels after being adsorbed by activated carbon from rice husks and zeolites. This study used an experimental method with simulated wastewater samples containing Pb(II) at several concentrations. Pb(II) adsorption processes by rice husk and natural zeolite used various adsorbents' mass ratios. The adsorbents were characterized by using Fourier-Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) Spectrophotometry. Pb(II) analysis during adsorption processes used a single beam UV-visible Spectrophotometer for Solid-Phase Spectrophotometry. This study indicates that the combination of adsorbent from rice husk and natural zeolite can properly adsorb Pb(II) ions with an adsorption capacity of 0.75 μg g-1 and 0.025 μg L-1 for the LoD of the instrument.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan guru melalui produksi media pembelajaran kimia dilakukan dengan pelatihan dan pendampingan produksi media pembelajaran kimia. Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan berhasil menarik antusiasme para guru untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran kimia. Target peserta 40 guru kimia SMA dan SMK Sukoharjo telah terpenuhi 100%. Antusiasme terbukti dari banyaknya pertanyaan dari peserta dan harapan peserta akan adanya pelatihan lanjutan dikemudian hari. Produk yang dihasilkan berupa modul pembelajaran kimia ber-ISBN oleh guru Kimia serta pemanfaatan teknologi berupa aplikasi ChemSketch sebagai media pembelajaran kimia.[Teacher empowerment through the production of chemical learning media is carried out with training and assistance in the production of chemical learning media. The activities carried out successfully attracted the enthusiasm of the teachers to develop chemistry learning media. The target participants of 40 high school and vocational high school chemistry teachers in Sukoharjo have been met 100%. The enthusiasm was evident from the many questions from the participants and the participants' hopes for further training in the future. The products produced are ISBN learning chemistry modules by Chemistry teachers and the use of technology in the form of ChemSketch applications as chemistry learning media.]

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah mendampingi guru disekolah  memproduksi perangkat pembelajaran berbasis Low Carbon STEM Project untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPA ramah lingkungan. Low Carbon STEM Project adalah perangkat pembelajaran yang dikemas dalam bentuk project  berdasarkan sintaks STEM (Define, Learn, Plan, Try, Test, and Decide) yang menerapkan konsep ramah lingkungan. Low carbon STEM project yang sudah diproduksi diterapkan pada perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan pada Kompetensi Dasar IPA SMP untuk meningkatkan pembuatan project teknologi yang baru. Project teknologi yang baru perlu ditekankan karena selama ini guru disekolah hanya mengulang fakta dan konsep yang sudah ada dan sangat jarang menciptakan sesuatu yang baru. Hasil akhir dari kegiatan ini diharapkan guru dapat menerapkan Low Carbon STEM Project pada perangkat pembelajaran IPA di tingkat kelas yang lain dan ditularkan dalam ranah yang lebih luas seperti MGMP IPA. Metode yang dilaksanakan dimulai dengan koordinasi dengan mitra yaitu guru IPA SMPN 3 Surakarta dan SMPN 4 Surakarta. Kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan workshop materi Low Carbon STEM Project kepada guru sekolah mitra yang dipandu oleh ketua pengabdian yang diselenggarakan secara luring. Kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan pendampingan produksi Low Carbon STEM project yang dipandu oleh semua tim pengabdi. Metode akhir yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Deskriptif kualitatif didapatkan dari angket dan wawancara setelah pendampingan produksi Low Carbon STEM Project. Hasil angket dan wawancara disajikan dalam data deskriptif kualitatif. [The purpose of this community service activity is to assist teachers in schools to produce learning tools based on the Low Carbon STEM Project to improve the quality of environmentally friendly science learning. Low Carbon STEM Project is a learning tool packaged in the form of a project based on the STEM syntax (Define, Learn, Plan, Try, Test, and Decide) which applies environmentally friendly concepts. The low carbon STEM project that has been produced is applied to the learning tools developed in the Junior High School Science Basic Competencies to improve the creation of new technology projects. New technology projects need to be emphasized because so far school teachers only repeat existing facts and concepts and very rarely create anything new. The end result of this activity is expected that the teacher can apply the Low Carbon STEM Project to other science learning tools at the classroom level and be transmitted in a broader realm such as the Science teacher Organization. The method implemented begins with coordination with partners, namely science teachers at SMPN 3 Surakarta and SMPN 4 Surakarta. The activity was continued with a workshop on the Low Carbon STEM Project material for partner school teachers guided by the community service leader which was held offline.  The activity was continued with production assistance for the Low Carbon STEM project which guided by all member of team. The final method used is descriptive qualitative. Qualitative descriptive was obtained from questionnaires and interviews after the production assistance of the Low Carbon STEM Project. The results of questionnaires and interviews are presented in descriptive qualitative data.]

Abstract

Materi kimia kelarutan dan hasil kali kelarutan (Ksp) merupakan salah satu materi yang sulit sehingga dibutuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Inovasi pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis sangat penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Constructive Controversy (CC) dan inkuiri terbimbing berdasarkan representasi tetrahedral kimia terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada materi Ksp; (2) pengaruh kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada materi Ksp; (3) interaksi antara penerapan model pembelajaran CC dan inkuiri terbimbing berdasarkan representasi tetrahedral kimia dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada materi Ksp. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain faktorial 2x2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) tidak ada pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran CC dan inkuiri terbimbing berdasarkan representasi tetrahedral kimia terhadap prestasi belajar aspek pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan pada materi Ksp; (2) ada pengaruh kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa terhadap prestasi belajar siswa aspek pengetahuan tetapi tidak ada pengaruh terhadap aspek sikap dan keterampilan pada materi Ksp; (3) tidak ada interaksi antara penerapan model pembelajaran CC dan inkuiri terbimbing berdasarkan representasi tetrahedral kimia dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap prestasi belajar aspek pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan pada materi Ksp. Constructive controversy and guided inquiry corresponding to the tetrahedral representation chemistry learning viewed from critical thinking ability AbstractChemical subject of solubility and solubility product constant (Ksp) is one of the materials that is difficult so it needs critical thinking ability. Learning innovation to improve critical thinking skill is very important. This research aimed to determine: (1) the influence of implementing Constructive Controversy (CC) and guided inquiry learning model based on chemical tetrahedral representation towards students achievement on Ksp subject matter; (2) the influence of the student’s critical thinking ability towards students achievement on Ksp subject matter; and (3) the interaction between implementing CC and guided inquiry learning model based on chemical tetrahedral representation with critical thinking ability towards students achievement on Ksp subject matter. This research was quasi experiment research with factorial design of 2x2. The results show that: (1) there is no influence of implementing CC and guided inquiry learning model based on chemical tetrahedral representation towards students achievement of cognitive, affective, and phycomotor aspect on Ksp subject matter; (2) there is an influence of the student’s critical thinking ability towards student’s achievement of cognitive aspect while there is no influence of critical thinking ability toward student’s achievement of affective and phycomotor aspect on Ksp subject matter; (3) there is no interaction between implementing CC and guided inquirylearning model based on chemical tetrahedral representation with  critical thinking ability towards students achievement of cognitive, affective, and phycomotor aspect on Ksp subject matter.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to conduct a preliminary study to create a virtual chemistry laboratory innovation to optimize learning during the Covid-19 pandemic in the Natural Science Education Study Program of the Teacher Training and Education Faculty Universitas Sebelas Maret (FKIP UNS). The Natural Science Education Study Program of FKIP UNS itself teaches chemical concepts that require laboratory activity. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. Data was collected using observation, interviews, and analysis of related documents and equipped with a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with students and lecturers (Science Education and Chemistry Education FKIP UNS). The results showed that 11 chemistry practicums required virtual laboratory innovation in the Natural Science Education Study Program of FKIP UNS due to restrictions on the use of laboratories by the campus. It was concluded that a virtual chemistry laboratory was needed as an alternative to student practicum activities to maintain and optimize laboratory skills in online learning. In addition, the developed virtual laboratory needs to be embedded online and can be accessed through various gadgets so that it can be used anytime and anywhere.

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kreatif merupakan salah satu keterampilan abad 21 yang penting dimiliki oleh siswa. Beberapa faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi keterampilan berpikir kreatif antara lain kepercayaan diri dan adversity quotient. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk :(1) Mengetahui adanya hubungan antara kepercayaan diri dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif, (2) Mengetahui adanya hubungan antara adversity quotient dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif, (3) Mengetahui adanya hubungan antara kepercayaan diri dan adversity quotient secara bersama-sama dengan keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII dari salah satu SMP swasta berakreditasi A di Surakarta tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu materi gerak dan gaya. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling. Data diperoleh dengan tes dan angket yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi pearson dan uji korelasi berganda (Sugiyono, 2007). Hasil penelitian menunjukan : (1) Kepercayaan diri berhubungan positif dengan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,410, (2) Adversity quotient berhubungan positif dengan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,678, (3) Kepercayaan diri dan adversity quotient berhubungan positif secara bersama-sama dengan keterampilan berpikir kreatif dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,700.

Abstract

MODEL PROBLEM SOLVING DAN MODEL PROBLEM POSING DILENGKAPI MULTI REPRESENTASI TETRAHEDRAL KIMIA DALAM MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP SISWA AbstractA learning model has its characteristics with advantages and disadvantages. A Teacher has a particular way of delivering chemistry materials. This study aims to investigate the implementation of Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) and Problem Posing (PP) to enhance students' conceptual understanding of the topic of the mole concept. The learning model implemented was enriched with the tetrahedral chemistry representation, which included levels of the human element, macroscopic, sub-microscopic, and symbolic. This research used a quasi-experimental method with a randomized pretest-posttest comparison group research design. Data collection used paper-and-pencil tests to sixty-four grade 10 students in a public high school in Sragen, Indonesia. Data analysis employed an independent sample t-test. The research findings indicated that the PP model was able to generate a higher degree of students' conceptual understanding than the TAPPS model and have more students with sound conceptual understanding than the TAPPS model. The chemistry teaching integrated with the tetrahedral chemistry representation increased students' sub-microscopic and symbolic levels of understanding. The new approach should be embedded in every chemistry learning model for enhancing students' understanding.AbstrakSebuah model pembelajaran mempunyai ciri tersendiri dengan kelebihan dan kekurangannya. Guru mempunyai cara khusus dalam menyampaikan materi kimia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki penerapan Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) dan Problem Posing (PP) untuk meningkatkan tingkat pemahaman konseptual siswa dalam materi konsep mol. Model pembelajaran yang diterapkan tersebut diperkaya dengan representasi tetrahedral kimia, yang mencakup level human element, makroskopis, submikroskopis, dan simbolik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian komparasi grup pretest-posttest yang diacak. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes tertulis terhadap 64 siswa kelas 10 dari salah satu SMA di Sragen, Indonesia.  Analisis data menggunakan independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa model PP mampu menghasilkan tingkat pemahaman konseptual siswa yang lebih tinggi daripada model TAPPS. Pembelajaran kimia yang terintegrasi dengan representasi tetrahedral kimia mampu meningkatkan tingkat pemahaman sub-mikroskopis dan simbolis siswa. Pendekatan baru tersebut perlu dimasukkan di setiap model pembelajaran kimia untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa.

Abstract

ANALISIS SIKAP SISWA TERHADAP STEM BERDASARKAN GENDER DAN TINGKATAN KELAS: STUDI KOMPARASI INDONESIA DAN THAILANDAbstractAttitude is a tendency to behave and react to a given stimulus. The smoothness of STEM learning involves students, one of which is students' attitude towards STEM. Students at the junior high school level are a transitional period from children to adolescents who are not yet considered adulthood. Besides that, there is behavior stereotypical in male and female students during learning. This research was conducted to analyze students' attitudes towards Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in Indonesia and Thailand in terms of grade level and gender. The research method used is descriptive quantitative using a survey. This study used the STEM questionnaire distributed to 139 students in Thailand and 90 students in Indonesia. Data were collected using a questionnaire about students' attitudes towards STEM and interview protocols for science teachers. Analysis of student attitudes, which focused on self-confidence, enjoyment, interest, and anxiety, showed that these attitudes were more dominant among students at the highest grade level in both countries. However, there is no significant difference between the attitudes of male and female students in Indonesia and Thailand; both are the same in responding to STEM learning.AbstrakSikap merupakan kecenderungan berperilaku dan reaksi terhadap stimulus yang diberikan. Kelancaran pembelajaran STEM yang melibatkan siswa, salah satunya adalah sikap siswa terhadap STEM. Siswa pada jenjang sekolah menengah pertama merupakan masa peralihan dari anak-anak menuju remaja yang belum dikatakan masa dewasa, selain itu adanya perilaku stereotype pada siswa laki-laki dan perempuan pada saat pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis sikap siswa terhadap Sains, Teknologi, Rekayasa, dan Matematika (STEM) di Indonesia dan Thailand ditinjau dari tingkat kelas dan jenis kelamin. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan survei berupa kuesioner. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner STEM yang dibagikan kepada 139 siswa di Thailand dan 90 siswa di Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner tentang sikap siswa terhadap STEM dan protokol wawancara untuk guru IPA. Analisis sikap siswa yang berfokus pada kepercayaan diri, kesenangan, minat, dan kecemasan, menunjukkan bahwa sikap tersebut lebih dominan di antara siswa pada tingkat kelas tertinggi di kedua negara. Namun tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara sikap siswa laki-laki dan perempuan di Indonesia dan Thailand, keduanya sama dalam merespon pembelajaran STEM.

Abstract

Integrating low-carbon or environmentally friendly principles into the learning process is possible, especially in the Project-Based Learning-Science Technological Engineering and Mathematics (PjBL-STEM) model. This study aims to determine the difference in effectiveness between PjBL-Low Carbon STEM and discovery learning to develop the creative thinking abilities of class IX students at one of Surakarta's public junior high schools and educate them about electricity and to know the application of the low carbon concept. This research is a quasi-experimental research type. The research design used in this study is the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design, where the experimental class applies PjBL-Low Carbon STEM, and the control class applies discovery learning. The population in this study were all grade IX students. The sample in this study was class IX A as the experimental class and class IX B as the control class. The sampling technique used random cluster sampling. The data collection technique used a test of creative thinking skills description and student response questionnaires. The hypothesis test used is the t-test (t-test). This study concludes that there are differences in the effectiveness of PjBL-Low Carbon STEM and discovery learning to improve the creative thinking skills of class IX students on electrical materials. Applying the low carbon concept in the learning process can improve students' understanding of common carbon principles, concepts, and attitudes.
