Abstract

Polymer material used for hydrogel should have capability to swell and to keep water molecules in its structure without solubilised in water. Natural polymers has functional groups which can perform as active sites in modification to produce polymer with better characteristic. Chitosan is a natural polymer which has good swelling ability but lack of structural strength. Synthesis of chitosan hydrogel by interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) will increase its strength through crosslinking. In this research, the first step of modification was the synthesis of chitosan polymer network crosslinked by acetaldehyde. The next step was the synthesis of PNVCL polymer network crosslinked by N,N-methylbisacrylamide (MBA) through free radical polymerization of NVCL monomer with ammonium persulfat (APS) as the initiatior. Optimum reaction time, chitosan/PNVCL ratio (w/w %), concentration of crosslinker agent, and concentration of initiator had been observed. The optimum conditions were obtained as followed: 2 hours reaction, the ratio chitosan/PNVCL of 90:10 (w/w %), %-w MBA concentration of 0,5%, and APS concentration of 3%. The swelling ratio of the hydrogel was 380,66% while the crosslinking degree was 60,85%. Fourier transfor infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and X-Ray diffraction (XRD) were used for the characterization of the hydrogel.

Abstract

Power system merupakan sistem yang memberikan tenaga agar wheel loader dapat beroperasi dan merupakan sumber penggerak utama bagi sistem atau komponen lainnya. Kegagalan fungsi pada power system mengganggu kerja sistem lain yang dapat berdampak kepada penurunan produktivitas, downtime, dan biaya perbaikan yang tinggi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mencari tahu penyebab kegagalan power system dari wheel loader Liugong ZL50CN, dengan cara mengidentifikasi kemungkinan kegagalan dengan menggunakan metode FMEA dan dilanjutkan menggunakan diagram fishbone untuk melihat penyebab kegagalan. Hasil analis menunjukkan bahwa penyebab utama penyebab kerusakan pada mesin wheel loader ZL50CN dalam kurun waktu Januari 2021 sampai Desember 2023 adalah kerusakan sistem pendingin mesin. Hasil FMEA membuktikan bahwa modus kegagalan kerusakan sistem pendingin mesin memiliki nilai RPN tertinggi yaitu sebesar 243. Digram fishbone merinci penyebab apa saja yang membuat modus kegagalan kerusakan sistem pendingin mesin yang terdiri dari 4 faktor utama yaitu mechine, material, man, dan metode. Abstract

This study aims to optimize the picking parameters of 32-pin Quad Flat Package (QFP) IC components on the SM421 pick-and-place machine operating at the Teaching Factory for Electronics Manufac-turing (TFME) of Batam State Polytechnic. Currently, the machine has not been optimized, so users must manually adjust the compo-nent dimensions and parameter settings before operation. This re-sults in significant setup time and reduces process efficiency. The method used in this study is Design of Experiments (DOE) to sys-tematically evaluate various parameter settings. The experimental results show that certain configurations can reduce setup time and improve component placement accuracy. These findings contribute significantly to improving machine performance and operational ef-ficiency in the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assembly process. In conclusion, optimizing the 32-pin IC picking parameters on the SM421 machine can improve the productivity and effectiveness of the assembly process.

Abstract

Saat ini PCB multi-layer banyak digunakan pada rangkaian elektronik karena mampu menyediakan PCB dengan kepadatan komponen yang lebih tinggi, kecepatan tinggi dan ukuran PCB yang relatif lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan PCB single layer. Untuk menjawab kebutuhan pasar, TFME (Teaching Factory Manucacturing of Electronics) yang merupakan salah satu laboratorium di lembaga Politeknik Batam, dirasa perlu melakukan penelitian untuk mengukur kemampuan produksi di bidang manufaktur PCB multi-layer, khususnya empat layer. Total PCB empat layer yang dibuat adalah sejumlah sembilan belas unit. Adapun metoda yang digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan TFME dalam membuat PCB empat layer adalah dengan cara mengukur kesesuaian koneksi jalur tembaga terhadap desain dan pengecekan visual kesejajaran antar layer menggunakan mesin x-ray. Dari hasil pengujian dapat diketahui bahwa untuk PCB yang menggunakan via ukuran 0.7mm tidak memiliki cacat jalur putus.

Abstract

A pressure vessel is a container designed to hold fluids under pressure, including liquids and gases with varying pressures and temperatures. The pressure exerted on the vessel's walls and body is a critical factor that must be carefully considered to ensure compliance with applicable international design standards and prioritize worker safety and security. This research focused on a pressure vessel to investigate the impact of temperature on shell thickness to meet ASME standards. The study utilized shell components made from SA-516 Gr 70 and SA-537 materials. Experiments were conducted with each material at temperatures of 250°C, 235°C, and 343°C, revealing that thickness varies based on material and temperature. The research findings demonstrate compliance with ASME standards, as the shell thickness in all trials exceeded the minimum specified in the drawings.
