Abstract

Permasalahan yang terjadi adalah, kurangnya minat siswa SMP untuk melanjutkan studi ke SMK Teknologi Elektronika. Untuk meminimalisir permasalahan tersebut, ada beberapa aspek yang harus ditingkatkan, salah satunya dengan meningkatkan kompetensi Sumber Daya Manusia (Guru) dalam perkembangan dunia elektronika. Salah satu cara meningkatkan kompetensi guru  adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan  trainer mikrokontroler tipe Arduino yang dilengkapi sensor-sensor sebagai media ajar bagi guru. Kegiatan pelatihan penggunaan trainer mikrokontroler melibatkan 15 orang Guru SMK di Pekanbaru. Sasaran kegiatan kedepannya mampu meningkatkan kualitas guru, kualitas lulusan SMK, dan menambah minat siswa terhadap SMK Teknologi bidang Elektronika. Output yang hasilkan pada kegiatan pelatihan media ajar trainer Arduino adalah terdapat meningkatkan kualitas guru SMK Teknologi khususnya bidang Elektronika sebesar 24,41%. Peningkatan kompetensi guru dilihat berdasarkan hasil Pretest dan Evaluasi kegiatan.

Abstract

Jogging has benefits for burning calories as well as for losing the weight of the body. However, the reality that often happens is that sportsmen overwork their body in exercising so that it has passed its normal threshold. This causes over or lower calorie burning in these athletes. To overcome these problems, we need a device that can later monitor calorie burning. This device is created on an Android-based platform using an accelerometer sensor. Using this sensor, the system can count the number of a person’s steps previously obtained through the threshold value as the threshold value to determine the steps. Calculation of calorie burning uses a formula that involves the number of footsteps, time, and weight of the user. This application testing involved 15 participants by comparing the calorie burning results through the application and manual calculation, so that the overall error percentage of 0.60% was obtained, so it can be concluded that 99.40% of the calorie burning calculation system in jogging using a thresholding-based accelerometer sensor is appropriate for athletes to provide information of their calories burning in jogging.

Abstract

One potential approach to addressing the challenges posed by the advent of Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0 is to offer robotics training. This endeavor aims to enhance students' foundational understanding of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines. The study involved collaborating with the Pondok Pesantren Granada, an Islamic Boarding School located in Batam, to provide robotics training as community service activities. The study included 29 trainees: 15 from class XI and 7 from classes X and XII. The teaching was conducted using a combination of didactic instruction, interactive discourse, and hands-on exercises. Trainees are administered a written examination to assess their proficiency level before and after the training program. The training outcomes exhibited a significant improvement in the mean STEM proficiency of trainees, with an increase of 38.15%. Furthermore, a series of activities have been effectively implemented, resulting in trainee satisfaction ratings exceeding 50% concerning course materials, trainer, and teaching equipment. A mere 17% of the individuals undergoing training expressed dissatisfaction with the allocated time, particularly the hands-on component's duration.

Abstract

Meningkatkan kualifikasi siswa SMK di daerah kepulauan telah menjadi bagian integral dari visi misi Politeknik Negeri Batam dalam menjalin kemitraan yang erat dengan masyarakat demi mewujudkan Indonesia Maju dan Sejahtera pada tahun 2045. Salah satu strategi yang dijalankan adalah melaksanakan program pengabdian masyarakat di Pulau Bintan melalui pelatihan menggunakan ARM Robot Trainer Kit. Program ini bertujuan untuk memberikan dukungan kepada siswa SMK agar dapat meningkatkan mutu pendidikan serta mempersiapkan mereka dengan keterampilan yang relevan untuk sukses di dunia kerja. Metode yang dilakukan adalah memberikan pelatihan arm robot kepada siswa kelas 10 dan 11 program studi Teknik Elektronika Industri, SMK N 1 Bintan Utara. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 22 November 2024. Hasil pengabdian menghasilkan peningkatan kompetensi siswa dibidang arm robot sebesar 24,62 % tentang pengenalan arm robot. Selain itu, peserta pengabdian memberikan penilaian kepuasan sebesar 42,78 % menyatakan sangat puas, 32,22% menyatakan puas, 23.89% menyatakan cukup puas, dan 1.11% menyatakan kurang puas.

Abstract

Optimal watering is essential for the growth of chili plants. This study proposes an IoT-based smart watering and monitoring system that uses fuzzy logic to dynamically determine the duration of watering. This system utilizes a DHT22 sensor to measure air temperature and a YL-69 sensor to measure soil moisture. Fuzzy logic is used to map soil temperature and moisture values into appropriate watering durations, considering predetermined rules based on domain knowledge. The automatic and scheduled watering system produced from this study can function well in controlling the duration of watering with an average duration of 4.52 seconds and is able to maintain soil moisture in chili plants with an average of 73.2%, the automatic watering system also shows more effective results in maintaining soil moisture when compared to manual watering. Meanwhile, the IoT monitoring system or monitoring of the Blynk application using a hotspot network in the chili plant environment can function well with an access distance of 20m. This study provides a unique contribution by combining fuzzy logic to dynamically determine the duration of watering, so that it can adapt to changing environmental conditions. This system opens up opportunities for the development of more complex systems, such as integration with pest and disease monitoring systems.

Abstract

The Message Queue Telementary Transport (MQTT) protocol is able to adjust the sending and receiving of messages to monitor in accordance with the user's preferences because the sending and receiving of messages is topic based on a specified topic, making it necessary to routinely monitor the condition of patients who have been diagnosed with heart problems from a distance. With the aim to perform a Quality of Service (QoS) analysis with throughput, delay, and packet loss parameters using Unshielded Twisted Pair internet transmission media (UTP) and Wireless, the goal of this research is to design and implement (MQTT) a heart rate monitoring device with an EKG module as a sensor and ESP32 as a microcontroller. On the Ubidots website, EKG signals are transmitted over the internet and shown in real time. QoS analysis is performed using the Wireshark application. Data was collected on two scenarios at intervals of 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 5 hours, 8 hours, 12 hours, 18 hours, and 23 hours. The throughput, latency, and packet loss metrics used in this study's results cause different value variations; these are influenced by the weather, internet bandwidth, computer, and router specifications. According to testing, the tool is portable and has a 3000mAh battery, but it has the restriction that it can only be used with reliable internet and bandwidth.

Abstract

The research carried out developed a Fuzzy Mamdani-based irrigation sluice control system. The prototype built consists of an irrigation canal which is limited by a sluice gate. In the electronic circuit, ESP32 is used as a controller which is equipped with an ultrasonic sensor to detect the water level which is installed on the supply side and irrigation channel respectively. The sluice gate is moved using a DC motor. Fuzzy input consists of the height of the supply water level and irrigation channel water level as well as planting or harvest time, with a combination of 18 fuzzy rules. The results of level sensor testing carried out on four height targets with 80 trials, obtained an average percentage error for each sensor of 0.3% and 0.2% with an accuracy of 99.7% and 99.8%. The results of testing the sluice gate with a fuzzy system have 100% conformity with the condition of the water gate opening and closing with the level and time of planting and harvesting.

Abstract

Gas and steam power generation units often experience changes in load according to the requested electricity needs. Changes in generator workload will also affect the efficiency of the generator. The different efficiency in each workload will have an effect on the amount of heat rate production produced when compared. By calculating the efficiency at each load, it will be useful to find out the workload with the best performance. From the results of the enthalpy calculation process based on the temperature of each gas turbine process, in this study the gas turbine performance is calculated, and then it compares the turbine performance with variations in operating load. The turbine performance that will be calculated includes compressor power, turbine power, net power, thermal efficiency, compressor efficiency, combustion chamber efficiency, turbine efficiency, heat input, and heat rate. The results of the calculation of the highest average thermal efficiency at 27 MW load were 35.18%; the average compressor efficiency experienced the highest increase at 25 MW load of 83.24%, followed by an average increase in combustion chamber efficiency and an average decrease in turbine efficiency at each increase in load, as well as experiencing the lowest decrease in heat rate at 27 MW load conditions of 2,842 kJ/kWh

Abstract

Permainan edukatif merupakan salah satu sarana dalam memberikan pembelajaran tertentu bagi setiap anak, khususnya anak penyandang autis. Banyak layanan yang dapat dioptimalkan Pusat Layanan Autis (PLA) kota Batam. Permasalahan utama adalah minimnya permainan edukatif yang berfungsi untuk pembelajaran pengendalian emosi siswa anak autis. Pada pengabdian ini diusulkan sebuah perangkat pembelajaran berupa permainan edukatif melalui permainan Gonggong Elektrik. Permainan Gonggong elektrik merupakan penerapan fisika dasar dimana siswa akan terlatih secara emosional dalam memainkan gonggong tersebut. Hasil dari kuisioner kepuasan pengguna di PLA kota Batam menunjukkan 90% alat permainan edukatif Gonggong Elektrik dapat digunakan dalam menunjang pengendalian emosi siswa autis.

Abstract

Image Processing is a technique of processing images with the input of an image and producing an image as well. One of the functions of Image Processing that the author wants to apply is the detection of an object from a still image or a moving image. In this application, the object to be identified by the author will be applied to the PBL sorting machine in the form of cans and bottles. In designing this system, the You Only Look Once (YOLO) method is used and several libraries. YOLO is an algorithm for detecting an object using an artificial neural network (ANN) from an image where this network divides the image into several regions and predicts each bounding box and probability for each region of the image. The author also uses a webcam to detect the object and a Servo Motor as a sorter on the PBL Sorting Machine. The result of this final project is that the system can detect objects cans and bottles properly and produce precise accuracy and is able to move the sorter based on the output data from the detection results.
